The document appears to be notes from science and math lessons containing examples of problems involving concepts like: - Horizontal and vertical motion - Time and distance calculations for objects in motion - Angle of elevation and depression word problems - Trigonometric functions like sine, cosine and tangent being used to solve for unknown distances and angles The examples involve scenarios like throwing objects, aircraft in flight, and measuring angles to objects from a distance.

BULLYING
P

It is an act of doing
evil, inhumane, and
having ill intentions
toward someone.
Prevalent types of
bullying may be
Physical, Cyber-
bullying, Social, and
Verbal.

FAULTY GENERALIZATION An informal fallacy in

which one or a few
occurrences of a
phenomenon are used to
draw a conclusion about
all or many instances of
that phenomenon. It's
analogous to a
mathematical proof by
example. This is an example
of a hasty conclusion.

Valid means true, but a

generalization must be
backed by facts and
supported by examples to be
VALID GENERALIZATION
true. for example, You use
generalization skills to
conclude "some basketball
players are short" when you
notice a group of
basketball players with
some players who are
shorter than the average
height.

Science
1.) If the principal decided to throw
something out of frustration due to
a road rage in the direction of a 12
metre car in front of him which is 80
metres from him, will it pass over
the car in front of him or hit it?

Given: 12 metre, 80 metre

Unknown: the horizontal and
vertical motion
Solution:

An egg is thrown horizontally off

the roof of the school building in an
attempt to anger the school
principal, which is 60 metres high,
with an initial velocity of 6.5 m/s.
How long does ittake to hit the poor
principal's car? How far does it go
in the x direction?

Given: h = 60 metres high, 6.5 m/s

Unknown: time , horizontal direction

Jackson is getting bullied by his
classmates and they decide to
bully him by dropping the victim’s
bag from 4 metres above the
ground. If it begins at rest, how
long does it take to hit the
ground?
Given: 4 metres
Unknown: time before the bag hits
the ground.

4.) Jackson and Justine are

playing basketball against Joshua
and Michael. The ball is thrown
upward at 4 metres per second
starting from ground level. How
long does it take for the ball to
return to the ground?

Given: 4 metres per second

Unknown: time before the ball
returns to the ground.

5.) If Jackson threw the ball

horizontally at 4 metres per
second, how long would it take
for the ball to hit the opposite
side of the court (ground) ?

Given: 4 metres per second

Unknown: time before the ball
returns to the ground.
Solution:
angle of depression
1. In the afternoon at 1:30, a fighter aircraft took off
from an aircraft carrier to deploy from a mission.
According to the Air Traffic Control Tower of the
carrier, around 1:35 pm, the plane is around 17km away
from the end of the runway. If the angle of elevation
of the plane to the ground is 51°06". What is the
distance of the plane above the ground?

51°06'

sin 51°06' = x/17

The distance of the plane
x = 17 sin 51°06'
above the ground is 13.22 km
x = 13.22 km.
2. The 107th Company was assigned to do the morning
patrol today, during they're patrol, the national
anthem suddenly went off the whole Fort, he looked
and presented arms at the 25ft flagpole that is 19
meters away from them. What would be the angle of
elevation of the company to the tip of the flagpole.

tan = Θ 25/19
tan = Θ 1.32 The angle of elevation of
the company to the tip of
Θ = tan^-1 1.32
the flagpole is 52°85'
Θ= 52°85'
angle of depression
3. A 44 meter Patrol Navy Ship has been deployed to
identify a rogue fishing vessel near their territory,
when they arrived at the scene, the angle of
depression of the ship to the boat is 46°41'. The
Commanding Officer of the ship wanted to conduct a
face to face interrogation to the fisherman. How long
do they need to travel to get into the fisherman.

46°41'

tan 46°41' = 44/x

x = 44 / tan 46°41'
They need to travel 41.89
x = 44 / 1.05 units to get into the
fisherman.
x = 41.89
