GENERAL DESCRIPTION
A. Title Community Extension Program
B. Description It is a one-day extension program which aims to provide
opportunity for the graduate school students (MEM – I)
to demonstrate their commitment in sharing their
expertise in their respective professional fields to the
community. Furthermore, the program is designed for the
students to apply the basic concepts and skills learned
from the subject Educ. 512 Non- Formal Education with
Entrepreneurship.
Specifically, the program will cover the following topics:
1. Lectures:
Negosyo/ Pangkabuhayan Tips
Livelihood themes
2. Demonstrations
Vegetable pickles preparation
Banana con yelo making
Lemon Grass juice making
Asexual Plant Propagation

3. Duration/Date July 20, 2019; Saturday 7:00 – 5:00 PM

6. Target participants Cantugbas Elementary School parents/ 4Ps beneficiaries
II. RATIONALE
This Community Extension Program aims to empower communities in directing
programmes and projects for social change. It provides avenue for local participants to
acquire basic skills and information they will be needing in their pursuit for daily life. The
recepients of the extension were painstakingly chosen, so as to pave way for the facilitators
to cater those individuals with high needs for basic services, which in turn will influence the
entire community towards its holistic and sustainable developments.
In addition, the extension longs to kindle the spirit of genuine service among
Graduate School Students – Major in Educational Management (MEM) for they are one of the
forces that will ensure the attainment of the institution’s objectives. They are, therefore
provided direct exposures to the selected communities.
It is hoped that through this extension service, the culture of being responsive to the
needs of the people will be ignited, which will answer the challenge for national development.
III. OBJECTIVES

This Community Extension Program aims to:

 To involve SSC Graduate School Students – MEM- I in responding to the needs of

the outside community
 To apply the basic concepts and skills learned by the SSC Graduate School
Students – MEM – I in the subject EDUC. 512 Non- Formal Education
 To develop clientele skills and competence in the field of specialization along
economic, socio-economic and environmental aspects;
 To provide and facilitate Livelihood Training to the served community
 To undertake social activites to the served community, and;
 To establish linkages/networks wiith the community for a more effective extension
service in the future
