USER LOG-IN FLOW
QUICK START TIP
All of the features in this guide are most easily
accessible once a user is logged in. We
recommend logging in prior to exploring the
features in this guide.

ACCESS LOG-IN
To access all of the Insider benefits, this is the best
practice log-in flow:

- Tap on the hamburger menu icon next to your


News4Jax logo.

- Tap the gear icon to access the user log-in interface.

CONTINUE
- Tap Log-in. When prompted, tap continue to give
the log-in dialogue permission to open.

If the user does not have an account, they will be


able to create one on the following dialogue.

INSIDER LOG-IN
Log into the app using your existing KSAT Insider
account.

If you do not yet have an account, follow the


“Create an account” prompts to gain access to
benefits exclusive to Insiders!
You only have to log in once to access the
following:
- Exclusive Insider Content
- KSAT Connect Photo Sharing
- Comments

STREAMLINED ACCESS
TO INSIDER CONTENT

STRAIGHT FROM HOMEPAGE


The homepage features an entire section
dedicated to exclusive Insider content.

UNDER MENU ICON


Additionally this content can be accessed within
the fold out menu.

INSIDER STORIES
Articles within this exclusive section will be
accessible only to Insiders.

A user must have or create a free Insider account


in order to access this content.
These articles will prompt a user to log in or
register in order to view.

COMMENTING IN APP

ACCESSIBLE WITHIN ARTICLES


Commenting can be accessed by selecting the
conversation icon at the top of the article screen.

LOG IN TO CONTRIBUTE
Users can view the comment section on any
article, but an Insider must log-in to contribute to
the conversations.

COMMENT LOG-IN
Users may log-in on the comment screen without
having to back out to the main feed.

KSAT Connect!
ACCESS VIA NAVIGATION
KSAT Connect is accessible via the app fold out
navigation.

MUST LOG IN TO UPLOAD


If you’re previously logged in from another feature
within this new app, you can proceed to upload
your pin!
If not, follow the button prompts to log-in so that
you may access this feature.

HOMEPAGE CUSTOMIZATION
CONTENT FEED REDESIGN
We’ve redesigned this app from the ground up
complete with customization options.

FEED CUSTOMIZATION
To customize your feed, select ”Customize Page”.
A settings screen will open allowing adjustments
to your Home page feed.

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE
TO ADD OR REORDER
Users may tap the green plus circle to add sections
to their “Include Topics” list in order for that
section to then populate on the home page feed.

To rearrange, users just have to tap, hold, and drag


the right-hand symbol per tab.

TO REMOVE
Removing is as easy as tapping the red minus circle
and then confirming that you’d like to delete the
section from the list.

Remember to save up at the top right to view your


changes in the feed!

SAVING FAVORITE ARTICLES
TO SAVE AN ARTICLE
Every article can be saved to a user’s favorites by
selecting the star icon at the top of the article
screen.

TO VIEW SAVED ARTICLES


A user may access their saved articles by open up
the hamburger menu and tapping the star icon at
the top center.

On the home screen there are now easily
accessible prompts indicating when a time-
sensitive livestream is currently live.

LIVE EVENTS, LIVE RADAR, & 24/7


STREAMS
Additionally there is now an entire section on the
home screen dedicated to these livestream
options.

VIDEO PLAYER FEATURES


iOS ONLY: PICTURE – IN – PICTURE
VIEWING
Continue browsing your favorite local content
while the livestream is still playing in the corner.
You no longer have to choose between live
newscasts and catching up on the daily reads.

The mini-player can be scooted around on the


screen.

iOS ONLY: AIRPLAY CASTING


iOS users may additionally cast the livestream to
other Apple or compatible devices.

WEATHER APP EASY
ACCESS

HOME SCREEN WEATHER ICON


The weather icon at the top of the Home screen
will automatically open the KSAT 12 Weather
Authority app if the user has it previously installed.

NAVIGATION
Additionally, the “Weather App” option in the slide
out menu will also automatically open the KSAT 12
Weather Authority app.

IF NOT PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED


If the user does not already have the KSAT 12
Weather Authority app installed, the Newsreader
will send the user to the Appstore or Play Store in
order to download.
