Algerians’ lifestyles then and now

Algerians’ lifestyle was completely different from what is now . Life was simple , as most
of Algerians lived in old buildings or in farm houses. The streets were too narrow and houses were
small .There were no clean water or electricity .Algerian families used to eat healthy food , sush as
« couscous with meat and vegetables » , or « couscous with milk ». The majority of women used to
prepare bread  at home using old ovens .At that time , people used to wear traditional clothes .
Women used to wear « Al-Hayek » and men used to wear « Bernou ». As means of transport ,
Algerians used to travel by animals , carts or simple cars .It was really a good time when kids used to
play Hide and Seek , skipping rope , marbles and hopscotch .

Now, life is different .Th streets are lage and most of Algerians live in modern houses where
there is water and electricity . They travel by cars, trains , buses and planes .Young boys and girls
prefer to eat unhealthy food like pizzas and hamburgers . They also like fashionable clothes like
jeans, T-shirts and jumpsuits . Children prefer most video games and surfing the net .

In conclusion , Algerian lifestyles are influenced by modernity .The use of internet has played an
important role in these changes .
