Course Description
This subject gives an overview of forensic science and its application in the court of law. Tremendous changes in all
aspects of scientific investigation of crimes have taken place in the past decade and are continuing at a rapid pace. The
explosive advances in science and technology are the main challenges to forensic science. Students of forensic science in
the Law Faculty obtain an overall bird’s eye view of this expanding science. They mainly relate to : 1. Current thinking on
Forensic Science 2. New tools and techniques in handling disputed documents. 3. DNA profiling 4. Interpreting expert
report.

Different types of firearms eg, shot-gun, rifles, pistols and revolvers and determination of caliber.
Different types of ammunition and caliber.
Construction of bullet and cartridge cases.
Identification and comparison of bullets and cartridge cases.
Test firing of firearms and use of bullet recovery bon.
