Cherokee CM10

The document provides instructions for modifying a Cherokee CM10 radio to enable frequency conversion across 5 bands (A-E) between 26.065-28.305 MHz by soldering two 0.1uF capacitors across circuit board pads and resetting the CPU memory after reassembly. The modification allows rotating through 40 channels to access all bands, though the radio is not legal for use on Class D CB networks in the USA.

CM-10 Frequency Conversion

5 Bands: (A - E) 26.065 - 28.305 MHz

Export Frequency Conversion

1. Remove the covers from the unit and locate the circuit board pads behind
the front panel as shown above.
2. Carefully solder two 104 (.1uf) capacitors across the pads making sure
Not to short any other pins on the board. Use a small, Very low
temperature, soldering iron to complete the job.
3. Re-assemble the unit and disconnect all power to the unit to re-set the CPU
memory. The radio should now operate on all bands by rotating the
channell selector through 40 channels. The display will indicate which band
is in use. (A - E)

NOTE: The bands are indicated by a small symbol (A through E) in the display window.

WARNING! Not Legal For Class D CB Use In The U.S.A.
