Nendi : Hi, Julio!

I think this is our first time doing a video call, is it


fun right?
Julio : I don’t think so. Meet in person is more fun.
Nendi : Yeah, but we can’t do that since we have to stay at home.
We even have to study at home.
Julio : I know. But, do you guys know about covid-19? What is it
actually? Why we can’t go outside?
Nendi : From what I read yesterday, it’s a respiratory disease
caused by a new virus.
Julio : That’s right. It is also easily transmitted through droplets.
That’s why we need to wear a face mask if we go outside. But
still, it is better to stay at home.

Nendi : But I don't get it, why is COVID-19, what with the 19?

Julio : The virus that we are fighting with at this moment is


specifically for humans and the name COVID-19 is actually
derived from “Coronavirus Disease 2019” because it has first
appeared at the end of 2019.

Nendi : Oh, I see. My friend is affected by the virus because his


mom gets it from her friends. I think he is okay despite he is being
positive for virus corona.

Nendi : This virus affects differently toward different people. Some


might not show any symptoms which make it harder to detect but
some others might be so severe that it leads to death.

Julio : I see, so this is just how dangerous it is and how important
it is for us to protect ourselves from it.
Nendi : Well, it’s quite simple actually, because our government
and all government in the world has issued procedure to prevent
the spread of this Coronavirus.

So, we all need to stay at home for as long as we can in order to


avoid contact with strangers who might have this virus. And also,
put on a mask every time we want to leave our house and wash
our hands as often as possible.

Julio : Yes! I agree with you. Also, we have to always maintain our
health by taking vitamins, exercise and sunbathing in the morning.

Nendi : This pandemic indeed affects many aspects of our lives,


guys. We can only hope that there will be a solution to end this
pandemic soon. Bella: You’re right, Julio. I hope we can go to
school together again.
Julio : Ya , I hope so .
