The CAS Tigers Dashes To The Finish Line
College of Arts and Sciences Tigers’ Florence Arbilon steals the golden trophy against Tabango Blue
Warriors in the 4x400 meter relay women's category, October 13.
CAS Tigers were left behind with a gap of 10 meters in the first 3 laps. Not until when Arbilon, the team’s
anchor leg, managed to dash at a consistent speed, stealing the gold medal from the front-running
Tabango Blue Warriors.
“Sigurado kong maapsan jud nako kay naa man koy dakong pag-salig sa akong kaugalingon, wala ko
nadismaya sa akong mga kauban nga naulhi mi sa kinaunhan” Arbilon said. “Sa kontra ko nanggigil, wala
sa akong mga kauban”.
They finished the game in 6:06, 7 seconds quicker than Tabango Blue Warriors’ 6:13 attainment.
Jessa Mie Luceño, the third leg of the team, explained that there was no certain technique behind their
victory. She just simply gave her best.
She emphasized that nothing is finished until the border has been passed. “So don't give up simply
because you are trapped and left behind.”
The CAS Tigers’ relay team is comprised of Maria Fe Rosellosa, Anthonette S. Descartin, Jessa Mie
Luceño, and Florence C. Arbilon.
The team proved beyond doubt that they are indeed tigers. From Arbilon being a fierce tigress herself,
being able to hunt her prey from behind and take them down in the end.
