There are a few different business models on
Amazon, Retail Arbitrage (RA) and Online
Arbitrage (OA) are two popular ones, but they
require too much manual labor and are not
scalable.

Private Label (PL) is the model I always


recommend. With this business model, you will
have so much more control and will be able to
find products with 40% profit margins instead of
5-10% (RA & OA are always races to the bottom
for price.) My favorite part is being able to put
your brand logo on your product and make
improvements that make you more superior than
the competition. I currently have 2 brands that
have done so well on Amazon that they now have
their own websites!

that they will search my brand on google and visit

coolest feelings in the world and I couldn't of

That is an astounding number, giving you so
many options at finding a profitable product!

How do you sift through all those products?!?

You might going to want to use a software. It is


the only way to sort though that much data.

The best tool and software out there for Amazon


FBA is HELIUM 10 . With Helium 10 tool called X-
Ray Chrome Extension and the Web App Black
Box. It is where you can input your constraints
from Estimated Sales a Month, Price of the
Product, all the way to the no. of reviews a
product has.

After you put in the constraints, it will sort


through the entire Amazon Product Catalog and
then give you out all the products that fit your
constraints. From this, you can get tons and tons
pf product ideas, you can save these products on
Viral Launch Product Tracker or copy and paste
them to a Spread Sheet where you will want to
track the sales of these items.

With X-Ray, you just click the extension while


browsing certain Keywords or categories on
Amazon. The extension will then show you all
the data on all the products on that page. It is
one of my favorites and definitely one of the
best ways to find hidden gems on Amazon!

If you use these tools, I do have discount links


below you can use that I set up with Helium 10.
Of course, these tools are optional , but if you
want to succeed on Amazon, you'll definitely
want tp get some software help and Helium 10
is the best out there. The platinum plan is the

Now, when you're browsing through products on


Amazon, you are going to want to look for certain
criteria that increases your odds of finding a
winner. A HUGGGEEE mistake that people make is
trying to sell trending products that don't ever
last .... aka the fidget-spinner.

What's wrong with going after these products is


that by the time you're seeing them explode in
sales, it is too late. Too much competition is
entering the market because everyone wants to
be part of a quick rich wave.

Price points get too low, and by the time the


factory has made your goods and shipped them
to Amazon warehouse the trend is already over.

I say this, because I did this with my first two


products and I lost thousands! I WANT YOU TO
AVOID MY MISTAKES.

The key to a great product is to find one that


isn't so popular that it invites too much
competition, while it not being so unpopular
that it has no sales and you can't grow your
Business. You want one right in the middle, or
sweet spot. You can call it the GOLDILOCK
ZONE, for you to remember it. Another
common mistake people make is picking a
product because they like it or because it's
SEXY. Avoid doing this for your first
product(S)!!!

That is how everyone else thinks and you will


be swamped in too much competition, You
want to stay true to the data and what you
learn here for your first product.

When you become an expert and have successful


products bringing in money, then you can branch
out to these more popular products because you
will be better equipped to dominate all other
competition.

What to look for in a product?


Let's dive into what you should look for when
trying to find a product in the "GOLDILOCK
ZONE". The first thing you want to do is access the
competitive landscape. Meaning you will look at
how many sellers are there for a product, and
how much the demands are and the amount of
it's monthly sales.

MONTHLY SALES: You want products between


$5,000 - $35,000 in MONTHLY SALES. Anything
over $35k, you will be entering an area with too
much competition and where scum sellers can
start hijacking your listing.

Staying in this zone will make sure that you have


enough monthly sales to make money, but not
so much that you draw too much attention into
your way. This is something you will understand
more later and hopefully you will be thankful for
that you'd saved yourself from so many
headaches because of the advises I am going to
share here.

Price Points: You want to find a product that


has a price point OVER AT LEAST $30. You do this
to make sure you have enough profit margin to
work with. The pick and pack fee (FBA Fee) is a
fixed amount so this will eat into your lower
priced item's profit margin a lot faster than a
higher ticket item. ALSO, when you have a lower
priced item, a lot more people are trying to sell
that product because that's the only product
they can afford to sell. Because of this, it
becomes a race to the bottom for pricing and
you're left with 12 cents in profit per product.
You wouldn't want that.

My personal favorite price range to stay within is


$30-$100, this assures you have enough room to
work with for margins!

Reviews: Amazon Reviews are the MOST


important criteria for product research!
Reviews are what drives sales and if the review
gap between you and your competitor is too
far, your chance will be too stiff.

Take for example, you are going to buy a


lemon squeezer on Amazon. The first listing
has 3,000 reviews and the second listing has 15
reviews. They are the same lemon squeezer
and have the same price, which one are you
going to buy? Of course, you will choose the
one with 3,000 reviews! That's how customers
make their decisions when buying.

You will want to avoid products where there are
competitors with high levels of reviews. I
personally do not go into a product niche unless
all other competitors have under 250 reviews on
5 or more top sellers . This makes sure you can
compete as you are learning and when you
become an expert, you can easily dominate that
niche.

A few more things to consider:

Don't think you have to invent your own


product, find what is already selling!
Find a smaller product that's under 5
pounds, and not over 18" inches on any side
(not oversized).
To check sales depth, makes sure the
monthly sales are spread out between the
top 10 products in that niche.
Find products where the competition has a
low review rate (4.0 or lower) and provide
the customers with a more premium

use Etsy, and Product Research Software like

** This lowers your chance of finding a new


factory who hasn't had years of experience
and/or if they are a factory that just keeps listing
on Alibaba to scam buyers. The "Verified
Supplier" is new on Alibaba.com to help us avoid
any low quality and unknown suppliers. This is a
must when I am searching for my factories.

You will always want to reach out to more than 1


factory! I always reach out to 5-10 factories to
make sure I get one that gives me a prompt
response, fair prices speaks good English, and has
a high quality product (you will want to get
samples to confirm this.)

When Reaching Out to These Factories, you will


want to know these things:

Supplier Communication - Suppliers typically


use Email, Wechat, or WhatsApp to
communicate. But Alibaba platform messages
are ok to use too.

Choose 2-3 factories as finalist and get


samples from all of them to help you make
your final decision. (Samples can be $250 for
custom samples), shipping internationally is
where the bulk of the cost comes from.

Prices are negotiable! If you really like a


factory but the price is too high compared to
others, tell them you have lower quotes and
that you really want to make it work with
them! More times than not, they will give you
a discount and respect you more because you
were upfront with them!

When Reaching Out to These Factories, you will


want to know these things:

Use an RFQ to look more professional and like


a bigger company! You will get 2x as many
responses from suppliers, especially the
bigger ones! Don't know what an RFQ is? Don't
know how to make one? Just use mine! I'll
attach it right below for you. This RFQ has got
me in contact with some of the biggest
manufacturers in China. I won't mention exact
brand names they manufacture for, but just
imagine brands you use everyday and that are
in every store.

HOW DO YOU PAY YOUR SUPPLIER:

30 % Down Payment and 70% once the


product is finished & inspected. THIS IS A
MUST, TO BE ABLE TO PROTECT YOUR
INVESTMENT.
Use a Credit Card through PayPal to
protect yourself further. (You can file a
claim with PayPal and also to your Credit
Card Company if things go south.)
Suppliers will try to avoid using PayPal
because of the fees but tell them that you
would happily split the fees with them , or
pay for all the fees. It is still worth the
protection.
Once you have had a few orders and trust
your supplier, you can move to bank wires
through Alibaba Trade Assurance to save
yourself from the PayPal Fees.

Before your product is done, you will want to hire


an Inspection Company before you pay the final
70% and have your goods shipped to the Amazon
Warehouse.

There is nothing worse than spending tons of


money on a full shipment of your product, get
them shipped to an Amazon Warehouse, get the
listing all set up, get photos taken, do a killer
keyword research to put you above the
competition, and get flooded with one star
reviews because all your packaging has tiny rips
in them, or your product is missing a small little
piece...

It's always something so small that takes your


product from a 5-star to a 3-star product! THIS
COULD COST YOU THOUSANDS IN SALES AND
COULD DELAY THE SUCESS OF YOUR AMAZON
BUSINESS.

Inspections only costs between $100 - $200 and


you can set them up all through email. The
inspection company then goes right to your
factory, sends back a full report, photos, and
video. Very easy to do, making it a no brainer
before you pay in full.

affiliated with these companies, they are just the
ones I have personally used without issue or
problems in the past.)

HOW TO GET YOUR PRODUCT SHIPPED TO THE


AMAZON WAREHOUSE FROM CHINA WITHOUT
EVEN TOUCHING IT:

One of the coolest things about the FBA Private


Label Model is that once you get your product
inspected, and find a freight forwarder, you won't
even have to see your products before you sell
them! They just go straight to Amazon
Warehouse, where they dispurse your goods
across the country to all their warehouses, and
then when someone orders your products...
Amazon plucks it off the shelf and ships it to the
customer in 2 days! Amazing, right?!

Most suppliers will offer you their shipping


services, if they have them. I would avoid doing
this. But, if this is your only option at first, just
make sure that you price check them with
another freight forwarder to make sure that you
are getting the best rate.

Warehouses from China

If you do a smaller lightweight item, DHL will be


your best option! They do express shipping in 3-4
days from China, which is incredible compared to
Normal Air Freight, which takes 7-10 days, and
Sea Shipping that takes 25-40 days.

The DHL EXPRESS SHIPPING will help you with


cash flow so you can shorten the amount of time
your money is tied up. When your products gets
to a certain size and weight, DHL Shipping
becomes too expensive.

Air shipping right now due to the pandemic has


gotten pretty expensive: As high as $12-$15/per
kilo. But check with your Freight Forwarder -
There is usually 2-3 different Air Shipping freight
options to choose from.
When your sales have stabilized, you will want to
start looking at SEA FREIGHT. Takes 25-40 days but
your shipping cost could go down by as much as
half!

I only recommend this when you get to a good point


in inventory management and have the cash flow to
still operate with that extra shipping time. DHL will
be your best bet if possible! But I always get a quote
on all options to see which one makes the most
sense at that time.

You can just go to DHL.com and set up an account


for their quotes or ask your supplier to get a quote
with their account, and your freight forwarder will be
able to quote for you both Air & sea Freight. If you
are having trouble, feel free to ask any questions you
have in the Amazon Gladiator's Group. That's why

There are two main things to consider when


making your Amazon Product Listing.

1. Using THE RIGHT keywords to rank where


your competition isn't and to appear (index)
on as many keywords related to your
product as possible, maximizing the organic
traffic you get!
2. Having a WORLD CLASS LISTING that makes
you stand out above all others by using
professional photography and copy.

USING THE RIGHT KEYWORDS: If you are


familiar on how Google SEO works, then you can
probably pick up pretty easily on how using the
power of well researched keywords can give you
a boost in traffic and ranking on Amazon's A9
Algorithm.

4. Backend Keywords (Subject Matter and

Most keyword ranking power for your listing


comes from what people are searching when
buying your product, BUT SOMETHING YOU HAVE
TO CONSIDER, is that you won't even have a
chance for someone to buy your product if you
aren't even indexing for those keywords they are
searching for!

That is why it is so important to make sure you do


keyword research before writing a listing and
using every possible keyword that could get your
listing more exposure!

So...How do you do Keyword Research?

Remember that I told you that there were over


100+ million of products on Amazon, now
imagine how many keywords can be searched for
all those products... When you can do something
yourself and save money, trust me I will tell you.
This is not one of those things... you will want to
use the power of software! It's the only way to
sort through that much data and get the most
accurate results to help you build your listing. The
software I use here is : Helium 10 Cerebro.

I PICK THE TOP 5-10 KEYWORDS that have the


most volume and are related to my product. (if
you aren't sure if a keyword is related to your
product then search it on Amazon, and if the first
4-5 products come up as what you are selling,
then it is related)

You will want to use these keyword phrases in all


of the first 4 categories that help you rank in
Amazon's Algorithm; Title, Bullets, Description,
and Backend (Subject Matter & Search Terms).
Something to consider is that you can only put
200 characters in a title and some of the backend
fields... so use as many as keywords as you can
and if you have extra room just keep going down
the list!

The more relevant keywords you can add, the


better. I use lettercount.com to build out my titles
and make sure I am under the limit for character
count. When finished, you can then use the other
keywords outside of the top 10 to fill the
secondary backend fields that I mention on the
list above!

This will give you an added boost for keywords


other may not rank for. These fields are
Intended Use, Target Audience, and Other
Attributes.)There could be others depending on
your category.)

When writing a listing you have to make sure


you are writing it to sell along with including the
keywords you researched up above. It is a fine
balance between keyword stuffing and making it
not sound like an autogenerated listing, an art
really.
**The 3 areas where copy matters on your
listing is the Title, Bullets, and Product
Description.
a. Title : You will want to include all your
main keywords. (keep them in the exact order in
which they come. Amazon sees "Stainless Steel
Lemon Squeezer" as a totally different keyword
than "Lemon Squeezer Stainless Steel".

b. Make sure you include any specific
describing information (Such as "Green", "100
pack", "King Size"). This will help your customers
locate the exact item they need without
scrolling past your product.

c. Make sure the title makes sense and flows


well. If your title is just keyword after keyword it
could turn off customers - You will have to play
around with this to make sure you are still using
all the keywords you can. I copy and paste
keyword phrases around my title until I have
the perfect combination of readability and
indexing.

I personally do not like to use more than 150


characters per bullet, this forces you to make
your point concisely. In the beginning of each
bullet I use simple emoji's to stand out and get
more attention. My favorite is the

your own risk!) I also like to use CAPITAL LETTERS
to highlight the benefit at the beginning and
then the rest of the bullet explains how the
features create the benefit. THE CUSTOMER

THE PRODUCT CAN DO FOR THEM!

I like to get down and dirty researching all of
my competitors!

I will go ahead and read all of the reviews and


questions on the page of my competitor, take
notes of all the common ones! Then address
them on my product description...So if every
lemon squeezer listing has people asking "is
this lemon squeezer dishwasher safe?" You
best believe I will be addressing this in my
description. If every listing has bad reviews on
the silicone handles falling off during use, you
better address how you had your supplier
double reinforce the adhesive on the handle!
(Make sure you actually did this with your
product and don't make false claims. One of
the easiest ways to get 1 star reviews!)

You will have to start an AMAZON SELLER


CENTRAL ACCOUNT to create your product
listing. This costs $40/month for the
professional account, there is an individual
account that charges you $1 per sale, you
won't want that once you start selling over
40 products a month and want to use
Amazon's Advertising.

I recommend YOU STARTING AN LLC and


using that to register your Amazon Account.
The LLC will protect you and your personal
assets against anything that might happen.

YOU WILL NEED A UPC CODE to add your


product on Amazon, I recommend
gs1us.org. These are the barcodes Amazon
want you to use and will help you avoid any
issues you will have with barcodes from
deal sites.

TO FURTHER INCREASE THE VALUE OF


YOUR PRODUCT, you will want to get your
PACKAGING DESIGNED! The supplier will
ask you for the .ai file for this, I always find
my designers on Upwork.com, Fiverr.com,
or 99Designs.com and never had an
issue... just make sure you ask them for
examples of their previous work and talk
to a couple of them before you make your
decision.
You will also want to make sure you give
your package designer your ASIN/FNSKU
barcode.

Amazon assigns to your product and uses to


scan and organize your inventory. Putting this
on your box will help you avoid barcode
stickering fees later.

factory sticker for you, Amazon's

of packaging. To access your FNSKU

item labels. Called 30-up labels.

To start getting sales there are two things you

This used to be so simple, you used to be able


to give your product away at a 99% discount
and get reviews and boost your search result
ranking.

Amazon finally cracked down on this and made


it against their TOS to incentivize reviews, and
they just recently stopped giving search result
ranking to discounted sales with an update to
their A9 algorithm.

say that they can boost your search result
ranking with discounted giveaways, DO NOT
USE THEIR SERVICE. THIS STRATEGY NO

The only way to boost your search results


ranking now is to get full priced sales from
someone using the specific keyword you want
to rank for, which is difficult to do, but is
possible!

First you want to know how many sales it will


take to get to the top of the page on the
keyword you are going after.

All you need to do is have more sales on the


top products on that page. So if you type
"Lemon Squeezer" on Amazon, and the top
listing sells 10 a day, you will need to sell 11 per
day for 10 days to overtake their spot.

is selling on that page you will need to do a
little research.
If you use the Viral Launch Google Chrome
Extension, you can pull up what every product
on the page is doing in sales per month. Just
divide this number by 30 and you will have
your estimated sales per day for those
products. Now since this is an estimation, I
always like to go to 2 or 3 higher in the
amount of sales of the competition. So if the
top guy is selling 10 a day, I will aim for 12 or
13. This makes sure you over take one of the
top spots and it could even help you get faster
than 10 days!

2. Search for best selling products in my
category.

price or value, better listing quality).
4. Downloading a Search Term Report in
Advertising -> Advertising Reports. This
will show you all the ASIN's your
automatic campaigns were bidding on and
which ones were getting you sales! If they
were getting you sales with a low ACOS
(Advertising Cost of Sale), then copy and
paste that into a product targeting
campaign.

How to know what to bid:

I suggest you use Amazon's Suggested bid


for your exact campaigns but just raise
them 30% above to get the slight edge on all
the people using the exact suggested bid.
This will allow you to win more auctions for
the lowest possible bid.

If keywords are getting lots of clicks but no


sales then you are going to want to turn off
that keyword or turn the bid down. I like to
use 10-20 clicks as good benchmark to see
how it is doing and when I make the
decision to lower the bid. If a keyword is
relevant and you know its getting a good
amount of searches from your keyword
