Jupyter Notebook
▪ The Jupyter Notebook is an open-
source web application that allows you
to create and share documents that
contain live code, equations,
visualizations and narrative text.
▪ Uses include data cleaning and
transformation, numerical simulation,
statistical modeling, data visualization,
machine learning, and much more.

Jupyter Hub
▪ Jupyter Hub brings the power of notebooks to groups
of users. It gives users access to computational
environments and resources without burdening the
users with installation and maintenance tasks.
▪ Users - including students, researchers, and data
scientists - can get their work done in their own
workspaces on shared resources which can be
managed efficiently by system administrators.
▪ Every UofT student has access to a Jupyter Hub
instance vis their UTORID.
▪ We will use Jupyter Hub for assignments.

Kaggle Courses
▪ Kaggle Courses is a website offering video courses taught by
industry experts in Data Science and Machine Learning.
▪ I will share links to Kaggle micro courses that cover important
topics we cover in this course.
▪ It is not mandatory to take these micro courses, but it can be
quite helpful.
