● Husain decided to fight the forces of Yazid.

● As soon as he announced his fight against Yazid, he was only left
with seventy two of his faithful followers.
● Seemed like they were outnumbered by the troops of Yazid but
Hussain continued his mission and finally the war began on 0th of
Muharram 61AH.
● When all his followers got martyred, he left with no choice but to fight
them by himself.
● Swords and axes began to fall on Hussain and he lay wounded from
head to feet.
● When he died, his head was cut off and presented to the court of
Yazid.
● This tragedy carries a lesson that Hussain could have saved himself
and his family and followers by just supporting Yazid but he chose to
sacrifice his life in order to prevail the principles of Islam.
