Brighton College 13+ interview

Talk about you and your school, your interests out of school, and also some theoretical
questions.

1) Family- What do your parents do?

2) Why did you choose Brighton College?
3) Did you choose any other schools just in case?
4) If you were offer a place by those schools and Brighton College, would you still
choose us or one of them?
5) What are your favourite subjects?
6) What about your maths? What’s your maths like? Is it going to be like something
you think you will need a lot in the future? (Why do you think maths is an important
subject?)
7) A math question (an exercise in distances): you are on the train journey, and you are
going from the city of Edinburgh in the north to London, which is in the south of the
UK. After a while, you look out of the window and you see a sign that says London
150 miles, then you travel to another 7 miles on the train towards London, you keep
going, and when you look out of the window this time, you see a sign that says 250
miles back to Edinburgh where you came from.

With these three pieces of information, can you tell me the distances between Edinburgh
and London?

8) Do you do any other sports?

9) If I were to put you in charge of Beijing for one day, you are the No1 administer that
in charge of Beijing, and you can change one thing to make life better for everyone,
what one thing would you change? And why?
10) If you can go anywhere you like on the planet, no restrains on Covid, you don’t need
to worry about money, you can take anyone with you that you like (eg. Friends /
families / someone famous that you really want to spend time with), and you can do
any activities that you like when you get to this place. Where would you go? Who
would you take? And What would you do?
11) Any other questions that you would like to ask?
