Burner Management

This document summarizes the design of a burner management system (BMS) for large utility boilers using a distributed control system (DCS) solution. The BMS protects personnel and equipment by ensuring safe operation, startup, and shutdown of the boiler. The design highlights include redundancies built into the hardware and software for protection, fault tolerance features of the PROCONTROL P DCS, and the functional distribution of the control system aligned with the mechanical equipment.
