Objective To verify that the mean launched optical power on the WDM side and client side of
the OTU meets the optical power requirements of the engineering design.
Test Networking None
Diagram

Preset Conditions 1. The network must be working normally.

2. Lasers on the OTU must be enabled.
Test Procedures 1. Query the optical power at the output port Tx of the OTU by using the U31. The
displayed value is the mean launched optical power on the client side of the OTU.
2. Query the optical power at the output port OUT of the OTU by using the U31.
The displayed value is the mean launched optical power on the WDM side of the
OTU.
Expected Results The mean launched optical power meets the optical power requirements of the
engineering design refer to Technical Specification.

Audible&Visual Alarm
T3-01Power Supply Voltage and Audible&Visual Alarm
Objective To verify that the power supply voltage and the audible and visual alarm function
of the NE and rack are normal.
Test Networking
Diagram

Preset Conditions The network commissioning must be complete and the power cables must be
connected properly.
Test Procedures 1. Use a power meter to measure the input power supply of the power supply board in
the sub-rack.
2. Simulate the alarm in NE; observe the alarm indicators (LED) on the cabinet.
3. Simulate the alarm in NE, check the audible alarm in the NE;
Expected Results 1. The measure power supply voltage is -40V~-57V.
2. The simulation of each scenario is successful. Details are as follows:
 Only the green indicator should be always on when the equipment has no
alarms.
 The green and yellow indicators on top of the cabinet should be always on
when the equipment has a minor alarm.
 The green, yellow and red indicators on top of the cabinet should be always on
when the equipment has a critical alarm.
3. The alarm sound can be cleared by pressing a button.
Test Description Test instrument: multimeter
Requiring on-site operation: yes
