Instructions: In this activity, let us find out how teachers, students, and other people define curriculum
from their points of view. Via the digital platform, interview people listed in the first column of your
interview matrix. Ask each one the question: what is a curriculum to you? Record their answers in the
spaces provided. Compare each definition. Are they similar? Different? (from Bilbao, 2010)
An academic teacher “My Personal Take about Curriculum: One, it serves as a content guide
for us teachers on what is appropriate to teach to a learner in each grade
level; Two, it is best based on standards that are realistic, practical &

A technology teacher “Curriculum is a set of standards that guides the learners and educators
to what is essential in learning and teaching. It contains the basic
competencies to be attained in a period that attempts the learner to be

As for Mr. Gerald T. Taraya, a technology teacher from Dalaguete National High School. He also points
out that a curriculum is a set of standards and guides on the essential topics that they have to convey to the
students. On his side, as a technology teacher, he mentioned that a curriculum contains basic competencies to
be attained by a student in the teaching-learning process. Through experiences during the teaching-learning
process, a student’s outcomes may be fully equipped technologically and globally competitive.
As for For. Lebert I. Omac, my former colleague in the Department of Environment and Natural
Resources – 7, also mentioned that a curriculum is a set of learning programs that are used to guide teachers
and learners, as well as measure the learner’s experiences during their learning process. It means that a student’s
experiences during their studies are also essential in gaining knowledge and skills.
For Ms. Shen Lovelle M. Belciña, a Medical Technology student at Southwestern University-PHINMA. For
her, Curriculum is simply a course that should be followed in an educational program offered by a school.
Based on the answers I got from the different persons I interviewed. The curriculum for the academic
teacher, technology teacher, non-teaching employee, and non-education college students’ point of view is
interrelated. Inter-related because based on their response they have stated that curriculum is a set of standards
that guides the teaching-learning process. They may have different points of view about the Curriculum but to
simplify it all, Curriculum is an essential guide for the teaching-learning process.
