KX-NS500 Remote IP Extensions

The document describes how to configure a Panasonic KX-NS PBX to support remote IP extensions without a VPN. Key points include: - The PBX uses its built-in MRG feature and supports remote extensions for certain phone models over a WAN. - Only 3 PBX programming steps are required: assign the global router IP, default gateway, and location of each IP extension. - Port forwarding is configured on the router to allow RTP/SIP traffic from the WAN to reach the PBX LAN. - IP phones like the KX-NT500 and KX-UT are configured to register to the router's WAN IP instead of the local PBX IP when remote.

Only 3 PBX programming are required for remote connection.
(1) PBX has to know global IP address of router. 11.22.33.44
