Written Assignment Unit 7

This document provides an assignment to write a compare and contrast essay between Saudi Arabia and Syria. While the two countries share many cultural similarities as Arab countries, there are key differences in their geography and climates. Saudi Arabia has a hot, dry desert climate near the equator that makes agriculture difficult but supports oil and other underground resource industries. In contrast, Syria's more moderate climate farther from the equator allows for fertile soil and a strong agricultural industry, including wheat, vegetables, and citrus fruits. To conclude, the essay suggests that agricultural investments are better suited for Syria, while underground resource industries would be a better fit for Saudi Arabia.

A compare/contrast essay between Saudi Arabia and Syria

If you have visited one of the Arab countries before, you can expect that you

have visited most of the Arab countries. They have strong similarities in

culture, language, and religion. On the other hand, we can note a lot of

differences in several respects. In this essay, we will travel to two Arab

countries, they are Saudi Arabia and Syria, although the two countries are very

similar in cultural aspects, they are different in geographical location and

climate. We will discover the effects of all this in this interesting journey. This

journey may help you to expand your business plans toward these countries.

As we know, the peoples of Arabia Saudi and Syria are similar in culture. Both

peoples speak the Arabic language and embrace the Islam religion. So, their

habits and morals are also characterized by kindness and generosity. So, you

think they are one people. Also, they are similar in the type of food that they

ate. So, the same food products will be suitable for both peoples. Not only,
but they also have great human potential, they master manual work and help

you with administrative work sometimes.

On the other hand, their different climates make each country individually

unique in a few habits. For example, the Saudi people prefer long and wide

dresses for men and women, in addition to the white head covering for men

who suit the hot weather in Saudi Arabia. While the Syrian people still wear

pants and shirts. So, consumers have different tastes when it comes to clothes.

The location of Saudi Arabia near the equator makes its climate hot and dry.

So, it has a desert nature that is not suitable for cultivation. Nevertheless,

Saudi lands are rich in underground resources such as oil. Therefore, Saudis

are active in various industries which are considered an important economic

resource for the population. For example, petrochemical industries, minerals,

and military industries.

On the other hand, the geographical location of Syria is far from the equator.

Therefore, its climate is mild, and its soil is fertile. Syria lands do have not

many underground resources. But agriculture is considered an essential

economic resource for the population. such as wheat cultivation, vegetables,

and various citrus fruits. Also, Syrians are active in food industries and produce

canned foods. These industries and Agriculture are considered important

economic resources for the population.

In conclusion, we find that any investment process in both countries will be

successful. However, when the investment process is related to agricultural

resources, it is appropriate to choose Syria. And when the investment process

is related to underground resources, your most appropriate choice will be

Saudi Arabia.
