1. Georeferencing

Open Global Mapper Software v20.1 > Open data file >

Select particular Toposheet & Open > Manually rectify image > OK >

The Georeferencing window will Automatically open >

Take a point on Toposheet >

Add each point coordinate values in ‘Ground Point Control Point Entry’ E.g. - X/Easting/Lon - 73 15,
Y/Northing/Lat - 18 30 > Click on ‘Add point to list’ for each point >

Give particular name to point & OK > Apply > OK >

Automatically Georeferenced image will open in main window of software >

For save the Georeferenced image > File > Export > Export Raster/Image format >

Choose file format “GeoTIFF” > OK >

Give File name > Save.

2. Shapefile creating or Digitizing

Click on Digitizer tool and active it > Click on create point/Text feature OR create line feature OR create
area feature >

Start digitizing > right click for stop digitizing >

Point Digitize Line Digitize Polygon Digitize

In Modify Feature Info add > NAME (feature name) > Create New Layer for Feature (Create new feature
layer for particular layer) >

Specify style as per layer feature > Fill Pattern/Border style/Width > Colours > OK.

Open vector file in main working space OR create vector file >

Open/create CSV file with first column name “Label” (Label title is mandatory for CSV) > in control centre
right click on particular file > Layer > JOIN – Join attribute table/File to layer >

Add nongeorefered shapefile in Global Mapper >

In Control Centre Right Click on Shapefile > RECTIFY-Modify…. (Re-Rectify) >

Task no. 1- ‘Georeferencing’) > Add Latitude & Longitude > after adding all points > Apply > OK > Output

In this case we have Georeferenced Toposheet & nongeorefered Shapefile of Forest area

In Control Centre keep Shapefile on top > Right click on Shapefile > RECTIFY-Modify…. (Re-Rectify) >
In Image Rectifier First take point on Shapefile & then on Image > Add Point List > OK (Do this process
for all points) > Apply > OK >

(If you want to change Font & Size of text please change it before the Thematic Mapping or Classification
