First week 11 July 2011 till 15 July 2011 Orientation week On 11 July 2011, I report myself to Sekolah Kebangsaan Ladang Tiger for my practicum training. On the first day I attended my first assembly during the practicum training. During the assembly, I was being asked to give speeches and remarks to the school. After the assembly have finished, i and my practicum partner went report our self to the headmaster of the Sekolah Kebangsaan Ladang Tiger, Madam Majidah Kanafiah. During the briefing she welcomes us to the school and tell about the school culture, the value that they want to see, the dedication that they want to see in us. Beside that she also explains on the subject that we are going to teach and who our guidence teachers are. Puan Majidah explains how this school are able to achieve 100% score for the UPSR examination. After done meeting the headmaster, we went to see the rest of the teacher and staff. We introduce our self and socialize with the staff and teachers awhile. After that we meet out guidance teacher, Miss Sabariyah Akibe who is one of the English teachers in that school. She explains to us what class will we take and what is our responsiblity. After finish with the discusion i receive a schedule of my class. Even though it is not completed yet the teacher insists that we introduce our self to the pupils first to get to know them better. So i entered my class for the first time and meet with my pupils. The next day went to school i have prepared a list of questions to test their speaking skills. The next day, I have prepared a diagnostic test to analyze my student performance in English as well as their known knowledge. So among the problem that I recognise in my student are they having low level of English knowledge probably due to lack of exposure to the language itself.

Second week 18 July 2011 till 22 July 2011 First week of lesson For the second week of my practicum training, I have received my entire schedule for my major and minor course. So that week is the first week of practical lesson. My first class is on Monday (18 July 2011) at 9.30am. It was my major subject, the English language. I receive the class of year 2 pupils. The number of pupils in the class is 10 people. Based on last week diagnostic test that I have done, my result shows that most of the students are lower level student, and there are only 4 pupils who score an average marks. So I have a lot of work cut out for me. After knowing their level i make sure that my scheme of work is synchronise with the pupils level of English knowledge. So based on that I have created a plan, which was to focuses on the development on their vocabularies. I have choose 6 topic to teach over this 11 week left, which was occupations, animals, in the garden, food I like, fun time at the school and story time again. So this is my preliminary scheme of work. Im not sure that this is the correct way to do a scheme of work. But based on the sample that I have collected Im sure that this is one of the way to do a scheme of work. So on the first day of my class I was unable to complete my task because I entered the class a little late because the previous teacher havent leave the class yet. So I waited for a while, then a called out the teacher because it been over ten minutes she take my time. So after that I entered the class to teacher occupations. First I introduce to them a few words of names of occupations there are in the world. Then just when I about to entered practice part I have to stop because my time is up. Since it is only a 30 minutes class, so I had to continue the lesson on the next day. On Tuesday I was able to complete the entire lesson where I was able to ask do all the practice and production activity on I was planning to do before. This week I also got the change to enter my first Kemahiran hidup class with the 5 Bestari pupils.

Third week 25 July 2011 till 29 July 2011 Second week of lesson On 25 July till 29 July 2011, is my second week of carrying out lesson. This week is one of the most crucial weeks of my practicum training because this week a lecturer from the practicum department comes to visit us to follow through on what we have done. Among the work that I have to do is that the record books and complete three of my portfolio. Three of the portfolio that I need to finish is the major and minor portfolio, GERKO portfolio and finally the practicum portfolio. This week I have entered a new topic in teaching English which is animals. There are many types of animals such as wild, tamed, domesticated, farm, zoo animals and many more. I decided to teach this topic two weeks because I this is a really long topic. For minor subject, which is kemahiran hidup I have decided that I am going to continue the previous lesson that the previous teacher have teach. So for this week I have entered a new topic which is keusahawanan and the rest of my kemahiran hidup yearly plan, is based on this theme. For English language, I begin with teaching about the sub-topic which is farm animals, and the benefits of having farm animals. First I introduce about the vocabulary of a few animals such as goat, cow, chicken, duck and many more. After they are similar with the vocabulary then I test them on spelling, after that I test reading a few sentences. After I am sure that they have master reading then i will move on to writing sentences on the topic of farm animals. Then when they have master that as well i will be teaching them what farm animals produces what sustenance. I teach as follow where i test on their vocabulary and the on reading and finally writing. Some of the steps are being combined to save times and complete the syllabus. I were also able to entered the sub-topics of pets

Fourth week 1 August 2011 till 5 August 2011 Third week of lesson 1 August 2011 till 5 August is the fourth week of my practicum training and it is the third week I conducted a lesson in two classes which is year 2 Pandai for the subject of English language and the second is the year 5 Bestari for the subject of Kemahiran Hidup. Before I explain this week lesson I will be explaining a bit about my student in both classes to explain their weakness and improvement so far. For year 2 class, it is the class that I entered the most frequent because Im teaching my major subject which is English Language. So when the first week of orientation i have tested may pupils and find out that their level of English is low. So after 3 week of teaching them i notice that after 3 week they are beginning to understand more quickly. I think it is because the consistence way of teaching where i follow the step as plan. So when they learn a new topic, new words, new vocabulary they will quickly know what to expect next and they have no need of remedial after finish teaching a subject. Individually there are a few students that are in need of more attention. First of all is Rasman, he is a remedial level pupil. I recognise that he has some potential but he is too afraid to answer any question, he afraid to get the wrong answer so he keep quiet most of the time. This is the same with Hafiz where she always so quiet but also have potential. For year 5 class it is a different story, where most of the student is well behave compare to year 2 pupils. Year 5 pupils are easier to manage; they will response quickly to any question that I give and do their work quickly. The only problem that i have in year 5 pupils is that there are one pupil who are a little slow and are belong in remedial class. The problem that this pupil has is not really serious problem in a classroom because he is slow in writing so I compensate with other form of writing. For the English language class I continue teaching them about animals but this week I focuses on the other types of animals which is Pets and wild animals Check by the Guidance Teacher Check by Guidance Lecturer
