4A’s Lesson Plan

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students should able to:

a. Identify the four types of sentences;


b. Construct interrogative, declarative, imperative and exclamatory sentences; and
c. Show teamwork and cooperation through participating in a group activity.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: The four types of a sentences

Reference: internet

Materials: Cartolina, marker, pictures

III. PROCEDURES

a. Prayer and Greetings


b. Checking of classroom management
c. Checking of attendance
d. Review

A. ACTIVITY

The student will be divided into four, each group will be given one piece of paper with words written on
them they will be asked to arrange the words in order to make a sentence.

They will came up with the following;

1. Philippines is rich in natural resources.


2. When did you visit your friend?
3. Please can you give me the envelope.
4. I can’t believe it! We won!

Presentation of the lesson


After the student finished the activity, the teacher will discuss each answer of the group.

Ask: Anybody who can tell me what you have notice?

Discussion:

The teacher will be discuss the meaning of a sentence and the four types of sentences.

Declarative – Helps in making statements and ends with period.

Interrogative – Is simple to understand as it help in asking questions.

Imperative – Use in giving demand or instruction.

Excalamtory – Use to express deep feelings or emotions.

B. ANALYSIS

The teacher will show a picture on the class, let the students form a sentences using the four types of
sentence.

C. ABSTRUCTION

1. What are the four types of sentences?


2. What is the difference of the four types of sentence?
Let us also remember the right punctuation to use when forming a sentences.

D. APPLICATION

Group activity: the student will group into three. Each group will be given a pice of paper and
will make a 2 sentences based on what have written on the paper.

Group 1 Interrogative, Imperative


Group 2 declarative, Imperative
Group 3 exclamatory, Interrogative

IV. EVALUATION

Direction: Read each sentence carefully and identify their function. Write DC if it is Declarative, INC if it
is Interrogative, IMC if it is Imperative and EC if it is Exclamatory.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Write a short narrative story about your most unforgettable life experience. Use at least 4 declarative, 4
interrogative, 4 imperative and 4 exclamatory sentences.
