The exam is divided into three levels –

1. CA Foundation

2. CA Intermediate

3. CA Final

(1) Foundation: you will be eligible for May/June and December attempt of CA

Exam Pattern for CA Foundation

 CA foundation exam is an offline exam that is conducted twice a year.


You can appear in CA foundation examination in both English and Hindi
language.
 Each paper carries a maximum of 100 marks and the time period allowed
is 3 hours or 2 hours.
 Paper 1 and 2 are subjective papers while paper 3 and 4 are objective
papers. The objective question will have negative marking for wrong
answers, 0.25 will be deducted for every wrong answer.
 The candidates are required to score a minimum of 40% in each subject
and an aggregate of 50% in all papers to clear the CA foundation
examination.

(2) Intermediate: held in May & November Every Year, After Clearing your
IPCC level you have to undergo training of 3 years as article trainee in firm.

CA Intermediate Exam Pattern 2020:  Marking scheme and passing
criteria

AS per the pattern of CA intermediate exam 2020, the marking scheme


and passing criteria for the exam is as given below:  

1. The candidates will have to score a minimum fifty percent marks


in the group to qualify the exam.
2. The question paper will be of maximum 100 marks, and minimum
forty percent marks are required to clear the individual paper.  
3. There will be no negative marking as per the exam pattern of CA
intermediate 2020.
4. If the candidates are appearing for both groups then the calculation
of fifty percent qualifying marks will be done from the total of
both groups. The total should be a minimum 400 marks to clear the
exam. 
5. To get exemption in any paper the candidates will have to secure a
minimum sixty marks in that paper. 

(3)Final:  held in May & November Every Year, and clearing that you will be
a chartered accountant (Voila..!)

What is the marking Scheme as per ICAI and passing criteria as per the
CA Final Exam Pattern 2020?

The marking scheme and passing criteria of CA final exam as per the exam
pattern of ICAI  is given below:

1. As per the exam pattern of CA final 2020, every paper of the exam will
be of 100 marks. 
2. The applicants will have to score a minimum forty percent marks in
each subject to clear the group.  
3. There will be no negative marking as per the pattern of CA final exam
2020. 
4. In aggregate the minimum required marks are fifty percent as per the
pattern of CA final exam.
5. The applicants who will score sixty percent marks or more in any
paper will be able to claim the exemption in the CA final exam as per
the provided pattern.
