Performance Task in General Physics

Ellaisa Jhane Muksan will present on fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, focusing on two major parts. Fluid mechanics is the study of liquids and gases, and the forces they produce. Thermodynamics is the study of relations between heat, work, temperature, and energy. Fluid mechanics and thermodynamics help understand fluid behavior under different conditions and select proper fluids for applications. Thermodynamics also provides foundations for important concepts like heat engines, power plants, and refrigerators.

PERFORMANCE TASK IN GENERAL PHYSICS

Hi everyone. I’m Ellaisa Jhane Muksan. I’m glad to be here with you today. Now let’s get started. As
you can see on the screen, our topic today is all about the concepts of fluid mechanics and
thermodynamics and how we can use it to solve contextual problems in our daily life.

In my presentation I’ll focus on two major parts: Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics. Fluid
Mechanics is the study of the behaviour of liquids and gases, and particularly the forces that they
produce. The Thermodynamics on the other hand is the study of the relations between heat, work,
temperature, and energy.

What is fluid mechanics and thermodynamics useful for? Fluid mechanics helps us understand the
behavior of fluid under various forces and at different atmospheric conditions, and to select the
proper fluid for various applications while Thermodynamics gives the foundation for heat engines,
power plants, chemical reactions, refrigerators, and many more important concepts that the world
we live in today relies on.
