Additional Information ( for reference only)

What is Review of Related Literature?

A literature review is a comprehensive summary of previous research on a topic.

The literature review surveys scholarly articles, books, and other sources relevant to a

particular area of research. It should give a theoretical base for the research and help you

(the author) determine the nature of your research.

Related literature and studies help the researcher understand his topic better because it

may clarify unclear points about his problem. It also guides the researcher in making

comparisons between his findings with the findings of other similar studies.

Contents

Related Literature

Studies, inquiries, or investigations already conducted to which the present proposed

study is relate or has some bearing or similarity. They are usually unpublished materials
such as manuscripts, theses, and dissertations.

Related works of literature were reviewed to enrich this study and to serve as the basis for

the researcher’s approach to the investigation.

Should be based from your statement of the problem

Last part is your synthesis

Synthesis - A synthesis is a written discussion incorporating support from several sources
of differing views. This type of assignment requires that you examine a variety of sources
and identify their relationship to your project.

Related System
Usually, related studies is about reviewing or studying existing systems related to your
project.

Conceptual Framework

A conceptual framework is a written or visual representation of an expected relationship

between variables. Variables are simply the characteristics or properties that you want to
study.

The conceptual framework is generally developed based on a literature review of existing

studies and theories about the topic.

This chapter describes and presents the methodology or systems development life
cycle use in the study.

Explain your chosen methodology or SDLC.

Requirements Analysis
This section describes the current system. If the new system will replace an existing
system, this section describes the functionality and the problems of the current system.
Otherwise, this section describes how the tasks supported by the new system are
accomplished now. You may use modeling tool like UML diagram/Data Flow Diagram
to clearly describe the process.

Requirements Documentation

This section describes the functionality of the proposed system by describing each
module included in the proposed system.

Use a Use Case Diagram or Use Case Description (you may refer to Use Case Diagram
attached file) to describe the interaction between the system and external users that leads
to achieving particular goals.

Also included here are:

1. Schedule Feasibility
2. Operational Feasibility
3. Technical Feasibility (both Hardware and Software)
4. Economic Feasibility

Design of System

This section describes the design of the system which includes the architectural design,
database design, user-interface design, prototypes, form layouts, report layouts, etc.

Data Gathering Procedure

This section describes the data gathering procedures done. Also include here the data
analysis plan

Development and Testing

This section describes the development and testing done or still to be conducted. Tell the
series of testing to be done and by whom. Also, include the software quality evaluation
form to be used upon completion of the system.

Implementation Plan

This section describes the implementation plan. Describes how the information system
will be deployed, installed and transitioned into an operational system.

The plan includes: overview of the system, brief description of the major tasks involved
in the implementation, overall resources needed to support the implementation effort
(hardware, software, facilities, materials, personnel) and site-specific implementation
requirements if applicable.
