Durastran
Synthetic Macro-Fiber Reinforcement
®

Durastran® Synthetic Macro-Fiber is an engineered solution for managing the crack-causing

stresses that develop from temperature and drying shrinkage over time. The Durastran® Fibers work
to increase the concrete’s toughness and its ability to absorb more energy and control post-crack
forces. As a field-proven replacement for conventional steel when used as secondary reinforcement,
the Durastran® Fibers bond with the matrix to help dissipate the energy and carry the load beyond
the concrete’s original design strength and capability.

Enhanced Performance
As Built-In Reinforcement, Durastran ® is
Positioned Three Dimensionally – providing
isotropic performance and added toughness
throughout the entire concrete structure. This
flexural toughness and residual strength can be Top View (24X) Side View (24X)

of the Durastran® Fibers can be easily seen
Key Benefits of Use under magnification. This engineered shape
• For Increased Durability and Flexural creates the micro-mechanics that resist the
Toughness in both Precast Structures and post-crack pullout forces; and dissipates
more energy, causing ductile behavior. The
SOG applications
result is more durability & longer life.
• Special packaging provides excellent
dispersion in the mix – eliminating balling and
clumping when mixed according to ASTM C94 Product Characteristics
• Unique geometry delivers superior Specific Gravity 0.91
