a HOT-DIP GALVANNEALED STEEL SHEETS AND STRIP FOR AUTOMOBILE USES(C 071-00) General HES Office, R&D Tockigi ot HES HES 071-00 HOT-DIP GALVANNEALED STEEL SHEETS AND STRIP FOR S REVI AUTOMOBILE USES 1. SCOPE This standard specifies equally double coated hot-dip galvannealed steel sheets and strip for automobile use (hereafter referred to as steel sheets and strip). Even if special specifications are exchanged with manufacturers, contents of the specifications as well as those of this standard shall be satisfied. Therefore, when grade A or B is designated, grade Cis automatically applied in Japan. 3.2. Drawing Indication Designation of steel type in Table 1 and that of hot-dip coating mass in Table 3 shall be indicated in the MATERIAL column on drawings when this standard applies. For details, refer to HES A 3055 (Drawing indication method for steel sheet materials). 4, COATING MASS 4.1 Designations of Hot-dip Coating Mass, and the Minimum and Maximum of Coating Mass on One Surface Designations of hot-dip coating mass, and the minimum and maximum of coating mass on one surface, shall be as shown in Table 3. Iron contained in metallic coating shali be 8 tol3 %. 2 Ifcoating mass other than 45/45 is selected, coordination with the material research= HOT-DIP GALVANNEALED STEEL SHEETS AND STRIP FOR AUTOMOBILE USES(C 071-00) section of Honda R&D shall be required because of lack of basic performance data. 4,2 Indication of Mass of Hot-dip Coating Mass of hot-dip-coating shall be tested according to section 17.2, and indicated for each surface in such manner as given in the following. 4.2.1 Hot-dip coating of steel sheets: "Hot-dip coating mass designation for top surface” / (ot-dip coating mass designation for bottom surface” of the steel sheets for shipment (Example: 45/45) 4.2.2. Hot-dip coating of strip: "Hot-dip coating mass designation for outside surface" / “Hot-dip coating mass designation for inside surface” of coil (Example 60/60) 5, SURFACE SPECIFICATION Surface specification of steel sheets and strip shall be specified by the mean surface roughness, and their designations shall be as shown in Table 4. ‘Application surface of large sheets for exterior parts shall be the upper (outer) surface. Steel sheets and strips shall be free from detrimental defects affecting normal usage. However, for steel strip, as there is generally no chance to remove the area including defects, handling of some areas not completely normal shall be left to the agreement between the parties concerned as well as the establishment of criteria for detrimental defects. In the case of calculated mass, however, the method of calculation and indication shall be in accordance with Table 33 and 34. 15. COATING ADHESION AND POWDERING The coating shall. in normal processing, not result in peeling off or extensive powdering. Evaluation standards for powdering shall conform to HES C 502 (Method of evaluating powdering properties). 16. CONTINUAL SPOT WELDABILITY Requirements for continual spot weldability shall, as @ rule, be at least 1000 spots (target 2000 spots) with any welding equipment. TESTING 17.1 Chemical Composition Analysis 17.1.1 General rules for analysis and sampling methods Chemical composition of steel shall be determined by ladle analysis, and general rules for the analysis and sampling methods shall be in accordance with section 3 (Chemical composition) of JIS G 0303 (General rules for inspection of steel). 17.1.2, Methods of analysis Method of analysis shall be any one of the following. JIS G 1214 (iron and steel - Methods for determination of phosphorus content) , JIS G 1215 (iron and steel - Methods for determination of sulfur content) , IIS G 1253 (Iron and steel - Methods for spark discharge atomic emission spectrometric analysis), JIS G 1256 (Iron and steel. Methods for X-ray fluorescence analysis), JIS G 1257 (Iron and steel - Methods for stomic absorption spectrometric analysis), JIS G 1258 (Methods for inductively coupled plasma emission spectrochemical analysis of steel). 17.2, Test for Coating Mass 17.2.1 Sampling method Sampling method specified for the continuously coated sheet, or the cut lengths spit from continuously coated strip; and one sample shall be taken from every 50 tons or is fraction of product with the same dimensions, and same coating mass. 17.2.2. Preparation of test piece Preparation of test piece shall be in accordance with either the provision for triple spot test piece in section 3.2.1 (2) (Location and size of test piece) of JIS H 0401 (Methods of test for hot dip galvanized coatings) or the method given in Annex 3 of JIS G 3302 (Hot-dip zine-coated steel sheets and coils). 17.2.3. Test method Coating mass shall be measured for each surface, and the test method shall be either the amimony chloride method (indirect method) of JIS H 0401 (Methods of test for hot dip galvanized coatings) or the X-ray fluorescence spectrometry described in Annex 3 of TIS G 5302 (Hlot-dip zinc-coated steel sheets and coils). However, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry may be used directly at the manufacturing line, if agreed to between the parties concerned 17.2.4. Coating mass Coating mass shall be measured for each surface. When measuring by the antimony chloride method (indirect method) of JIS H 0401 (Methods of test for hot dip galvanized coatings), the prepared test piece shall be lacquered and dried or covered with wide tape on the opposite surface from the measured surface, to prevent a dissolution of zinc. 17.3 Mechanical Test 17.3.1 General rules for testing General rales for mechanical test shall conform to section 4 (Mechanical properties) of JIS G. 0303 (General rules for inspection of steel). Sampling method shall be Type-A, and the number of test pieces and sampling position shall be as follows. 21ane HOT-DIP GALVANNEALED STEEL SHEETS AND STRIP FOR AUTOMOBILE USES(C 071-00, 17.3.1.1 Number of test pieces One set of test pieces shall be taken from each lot consisting of products of the same manufacturing conditions, same nominal thickness, and the same coating thickness in 3 batch of molten steel. When the mass of one lot exceeds 50 tons, two sets of test pieces shall be taken. 17.3.1.2 Test piece sampling position Contes of the test piece shall be positioned at 1/4 of the width from the edge of the rolling ‘width, When the center cannot be positioned at 1/4 of the width from the edge of the rolling width, it shall be at the nearest possible position. 17.3.1.3 Test piece sampling direction ‘Test piece for tensile test, and test piece for testing for hardening by paint baking, shall be sampled in the directions as given in Table 9-2 and 10-2. 17.3.2. Test piece Test pieces shall be as follows. 17.3.2.1 Test piece for tensile test shall be the test piece No. 5 of JIS Z 2201 (Test pieces for tensile test for metallic materials). 17.3.2.2. Test piece for testing the amount of bake-hardening shall conform to Annex of JIS G 3135 (Cold rolled high strength steel sheets with improved formability for automobile structural uses). 17.3.2.3 Test piece for plastic strain ratio shall conform to HES C 501 (Method of determining the plastic strain ratio for steel sheets and strips). 17.3.2.4 Test piece for powdering evaluation shall conform to HES C 502 (Method of evaluating powdering properties). 17.3.3 Test method 17.3.3.1 Tensile test shall conform to JIS Z 2241 (Method of tensile test for metallic materials). 17.332. Testing for the amount of bake-hardening shall conform to Annex of JIS G 3135(Cold rolled high strength steel sheets with improved formability for automobile structural uses). 17.333 Plastic strain ratio test shall conform to HES C 501 (Method of determining the plastic strain ratio for steel sheets and strips). 1733.4 Powdering evaluation test shall conform to HES C 502 (Method of evaluating powdering properties). 17.3.4 Thickness used for calculation of mechanical properties ‘The thickness used for calculation of yield point or yield strength, tensile strength, and the amount of bake-hardening, shall be the actual thickness measurement of sheet after coating removal, or the actual thickness measurement of coated sheet reduced by the equivalent coating thickness of Table 13. 17.3.5 Omission of mechanical test ‘The following test may be omitted if not requested by the purchaser. 17.3.5.1 Tensile test of JAC270C 17.352 Plastic strain ratio test of JAC270D, JAC270E, JAC270F, JAC260G and JAC340H. 22oT-DIP GALVANNEALED STEEL SHEETS AND STRIP FOR AUTOMOBILE USES(C 071-00) 1x, INSPECTION 18.1 Inspection Inspections shal] be as follows. 181.1 General rules for inspection shall conform to JIS G 0303 (General rules for inspection of steel), 18.1.2 Surtace specification shall conform to section 5 of this standard. 18.1.3 Cheical composition shall conform to section 8 of this standard. 18.1.4 Coating mass shall conform to section 4 of this standard. 18.1.5. Mechanical properties shall conform to section 9 of this standard. 18.1.6 Dimensions shall conform to section 12 of this standard. 18.1.7 Shape shall conform to section 13 of this standard. 18.1.8 Mass shall conform to section 14 of this standard. 18.1.9 Pow dering properties shall conform to section 15 of this standard. 18.2, Reinspection When coatisig mass test result or part of mechanical test results do not conform to the specification, reinspection may be carried out, according to section 4.4 (Reinspection) of JIS G.0303 (General rules for inspection of steel), on the test item for which the product failed, ancl acceptance or rejection may be determined. 19, INFORMATION TO BE PROVIDED AT THE TIME OF ORDERING chasers shall provide the manufacturer with the necessary information including the following at the time of ordering. Every item of 19.2 through 19.7 shall conform to the designation indication in { ] unless otherwise specified. 19.1 Steel type and designation 19.2 Chemical composition (N] 19.3 Mechanical properties [N] 19.4 Class of dimensional tolerance (thickness, width, and sheet length) [1.1.1] 19.5 Class of fatness of sheet [1] 19.6 Desisnation of oiling type [0] 19.7 Type of surface specification [SD] 19.8 Desiznation of coating mass 19.9 Dimensions 19.10 The number of sheets or mass of strip 20. MARKING ‘Vhe steel streets and strip that passed the inspection shall be marked with the following contents for each bundle by proper means. Remarks: 1. For each marking, except type designations, if it includes any specification that is different from this standard, such specification shall be indicated by letter "Z" 2. Ifnot specifying the chemical composition, the chemical composition designation shall be indicated by letter "N". If specified by Table 7 or Table 8, the respective designation shall be used for the marking. 3, When mechanical properties conform to the specifications in this standard, "N" shall be marked. 4.
