What is the role of the Digital Classroom Officer (DCO)?

The role of the Digital Classroom Officer (DCO) will vary depending on
the needs and context of the school.

The role is flexible and can be adapted to the needs of your school.

Below is a sample role statement that gives a snapshot of the role of


the DCO.

1. Abilityto capture the needs of staff in order to embed technology


into teaching and learning, identify current areas of improvement
and track and monitor. 

2. Develop and deliver high quality, targeted professional learning to


staff; including the ability to co-teach, lead demonstration lessons,
collaboratively plan.

3. Use documentation such as the Digital Action Plan to support the


Principal with schools planning. 

4. Provide regular, succinct feedback to the Digital Support Team.

5. Captureand share examples of strong classroom practice and


pedagogies with the Digital Support Team, and other DCO’s.

6. Complete other Digital Teaching and Learning tasks that align with
the School's Strategic Direction indicators.
