1. Enumerate 5 IoT devices and discuss what smart abilities do they have.
a. Voice Assistant – It is software that responds to voice commands to
complete common activities. It identifies our speech and carry out our
requests. On smart speakers, wearables, smartphones, tablets, and other
gadgets, voice assistant software is available. The most popular ones are
Alexa in Amazon, Siri in Apple, Google Assistant in Google, and Bixby in
Samsung, which are gaining control of our homes owing to their
connection with appliances like washing machines, lightbulbs, ovens, and
air conditioners.

b. Wireless Speakers - Instead of utilizing audio cords, wireless speakers


use radio frequency (RF) waves to receive audio signals. These wireless
speakers can essentially be identified by their specific application.
Although stationary wireless speakers with an emphasis on outstanding
sound quality are intended to be used in home audio systems or surround
sound systems for TV or video, portable wireless speakers for outdoor
usage are often built for robustness, portability, and battery life.

c. Smart TV - Smart TV is a conventional television set that has interactive


Web 2.0 capabilities built in. With a smart TV, users may stream music
and movies, search the internet, and view images. Computers, TVs, and
digital media players have all come together technologically to create
smart TVs. These gadgets can offer access to over-the-top media services
like streaming television and internet radio in addition to the
conventional television functionalities offered by traditional broadcasting
media, as well as home networking connectivity.

d. Wireless Printers - Wireless printers may connect to a network without


the need for a physical cable. The laptops, cellphones, and tablets linked
to a WiFi network may print to a wireless printer after it has been joined
to the network. If there is a strong signal between the printer and wireless
router, a wireless printer may be used anywhere it is convenient for you.

e. VoIP Phone - It is a hardware- or software-based telephone designed to


send and receive phone calls over an IP network using voice over Internet
Protocol (VoIP) technology. The phone transforms incoming digital phone

signals from the internet into normal telephone audio and transforms
analog telephony audio into a digital version that can be delivered over

the internet. VoIP phones, commonly referred to as IP phones, have
capabilities and features not present in conventional analog phones. Due
to the fact that internet-based public switched telephone networks have
replaced the old public switched telephone network, they also have extra
performance requirements.

2. Differentiate virtual reality technology and augmented technology from one


another.

By the creation of a totally computer-generated simulation of an alternative


world, virtual reality elevates these identical elements to a new level. When used in
conjunction with specialized tools like computers, sensors, headsets, and gloves,
these immersive simulations may provide the user access to virtually any picture or
location they can imagine. Meanwhile, augmented reality is more effective than
virtual reality (VR) as a tool for branding and gaming since almost everyone with a
smartphone can access it. By projecting virtual images and characters through a
phone's camera or video viewer, augmented reality (AR) transforms the ordinary,
physical world into a vibrant, visual one. Augmented reality is just enhancing the
user's experience of the actual world.

3. What are the positive and negative implications of these emerging trends to our
culture and society.

Everything on earth has an impact on us, both positively and negatively. New
trends in our culture and society have a significant impact. Several of the newest
trends have the potential to improve people's capacity to think critically and
creatively. Few civilizations perform this since it demands labor, primarily in the
form of study and research. Nevertheless, some of the new trends have detrimental
side effects that make it harder for individuals to think critically and be innovative.
Some students enroll in classes, but they utilize websites to hire strangers to
complete their assignments, preventing them from learning anything.
