DLL Do SCI g10 Q2 Week7 21 22

This daily lesson log outlines a science class covering optics and electricity: 1) On Monday, the class will discuss the qualitative characteristics of images formed by lenses and how the properties of mirrors and lenses determine their uses in optical instruments. 2) On Tuesday, students will explain the operation of simple electric motors and generators, describing their basic parts and identifying home devices that use electric motors. 3) Students will generalize the lessons by describing the basic parts of electric motors and generators and differentiating between them. They will also construct improvised telescopes and analyze images related to generators and motors. 4) The class will be evaluated through multiple choice questions and asked to complete an additional activity identifying components of a

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate understanding of the The relationship between electricity and magnetism in electric motors and generators.
images formed by the different types of mirrors and
lenses.
B. Performance Standard
C. Learning Competencies  Predict the qualitative characteristics Explain the operation of a simple electric motor and generator.
(orientation, type, and magnification) of images
formed by lenses
 Identify ways in which the properties of
mirrors and lenses determine their use in optical
instruments (e.g., cameras and binoculars)

Learning Objectives  Predict the qualitative characteristics Specifically, you will:
(orientation, type, and magnification) of images a. Describe the basic parts of simple electric motor and generator.
formed by lenses b. Identify some home devices/appliances according to some usage of electric motors.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Engage REVIEW
Ask: What was our topic last meeting?
- A short video clip (10 seconds) showing a simple science project which
uses DC motor. Teacher will asked them to observe the video. Then,
teacher will ask to determine some statement posted on the board
whether it’s an OPINION and ASSERTION based from what they saw
from the video
B. EXPLICIT Teacher will explicit the concept of the lesson to the student and reminding them about
golden rule

2.1. Teacher to Students

Say: Now, let us have a Board Work Activity. But, of course, you are only to
come in front once you are acknowledged to give your answer.
2.2. Students to Students (Group Work)
Say: This time, you will be divided by group and you are to finish this group
task in five minutes. You are asked to do the task while taking in
consideration of your other classmates who are also doing the same task. So,
please minimize your voice.
2.3. Students to Material
Say: To prove that you can make it on your own, try to complete this task
within three minutes. Once you are done, you may raise your paper.
C. Explain teacher asks student to generalize the lesson teacher asks student to generalize the lesson
Ask:
 Describe the basic parts of an electric motor.
 Describe the basic parts of a generator.
 What are the differences between electric motor and generator?
D. Elaborate DIY Telescope Teacher will ask student to watch the short video clip and ask the ff question.
Teacher will ask students to construct their very 1. In your own mother what was used by the indigenous people from the video
own improvised telescope Using the following 2. What do think is it a generator or mother?
materials, 3. Why do you say so?

Teacher will ask student to look at the picture and ask the ff question.
1. What is the photo about?
2. What do think is it a generator or mother?
3. Why do you say so?
E. Evaluate Paper and Pencil Test: Multiple choice questions Paper and Pencil Test: Multiple choice questions
J. Assignment/Agreement . As a group, I want you to do the additional activity BUILD ME UP.

Build Me Up. A simple electric motor is shown below. Identify at least 5 items/materials
found in the figure which may be relevant to the construction of a simple electric motor
and name a possible material which may be used as an alternative (10 points). You may
also construct your own version of electric motors when materials are available in your
area and take a video of yourself with your self-constructed working simple electric motor
and submit the video clip to your science teacher. (10 bonus points).
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. Number of learners who
earned 80% in the evaluation
B. Number of learners who
require additional activities
for remediation.
C. Did the remedial
lessons work?
Number of learners who
have
caught up the with the
lesson.
D. Number of learners who
continue
to require remediation.
E. Which of my teaching
strategies worked well? Why
did these
work?
F. What difficulties did I
encounter
which my principal or
supervisor can help me
solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/discover
