Family

My name is Lili Szilágyi, my family call me Lulu. I was named after the beloved main
character of my sister from her favourite movie. I'm 19 years old. I was born in Debrecen. I
come from a small family. I cohabit with my older sister and my mother in a detached house
that my grandparents built in ‘70s. The most loved family member is Molly, my 12 years old
beagle. She lives in our big garden behind the house.
Personally, I am about 163 centimetres tall. I have got long, straight, brown hair, that I
inherited from my mother. I have got dark brown eyes. I am a student in the high school and
sometimes in the summer holiday I work as a shop assistant in a supermarket. In my free time
I love spending time with my friends, we usually organise programmes together. I take my
dog for a walk five times a week. My hobbies are dancing, doing exercises, listening to music
and reading. I used to play piano for six years. My favourite hobby is reading, I have red 30
books in this year. when I'm reading, I forget my problems and just enjoy the story. I prefer
romantic and fantasy books. I like English literature. My favourite author is Jane Austen, I
have already red her all novels. I have danced majorette in Debrecen since 2006. I spent the
holidays with my close family. we usually cook and chat about our days and problems, they
always share the good and bad things with each other.
I have got a wonderful mother. she is 53 years old. She is an economist and works in a big
Hungarian company. She is as about tall as me and she has got a shoulder-length hair and it's
a bit curly. I love her big green eyes and her smile. She is an attractive and beautiful woman.
she always can cheer me up when I am sad. She has got a very good personality. She is
helpful, kind, hard-working, generous, and intelligent. I hope I have got my mother's
personality. I get on well with her because he is understanding and patient. she has a good
sense of humour, so I am never bored next to her. she usually goes home late because she
works a lot and sometimes, she's tired but she does everything for us. I'm very proud of her, I
think she is a fantastic mother. she has got some close friends who love her. they usually
organise programmes in their free times. She's interested in good books and films.
I have got an older sister, her name is Anna, who is 22 years old. She is taller than me, she has
got short, straight, brown hair and dark brown eyes as I have got too, I take after Anna. She
loves fashion and she has got fancy dresses that I sometimes steal when she is not at home.
She always wears a necklace that she got from me for her 20th birthday. Unfortunately, she
moved to Budapest two years ago. She studies communication and media in ELTE. She goes
home once time a month, but our relationship is very good and precious. I look up to her and I
can easily open up to her. she always treated me. we are usually on the same wavelength. Our
common hobbies are listening to music, chatting, watching videos and going to theatre. We
dance in the same dance group for 16 years. She has got many friends whom she likes to be
with them. they love her because she has got very good sense of humour. she's friendly,
helpful, caring, intelligent and independent because she lives in her own flat alone in the city
centre. She always listens and gives me very good advice. It's possible that after I graduate in
the high school after I will move to Budapest and live with her. I would be very happy if I
could be the godmother of her children.
I have got a dog, her name is Molly, she is 12 years old. She is the cutest dog in the whole
world. She has got long, silky, brown ears and beautiful, dark brown eyes. She is a big fan of
chicken and rice. Molly can achieve everything with her said eyes. She gets on well with the
neighbourhood too. She always makes me happy, and I couldn't believe my life without her.
I have got an uncle, he is my mother’s younger brother. He has got a wife and they have got
three children who are my cousins: Dóri, Balázs and Kitti. We we just meet on holidays
because they live far, but our relationship is very good. They are my sister’s godparents too.
My uncle is a taxi driver and her wife is an economist. They have been together for 25 years.
Unfortunately, my grandparents died before my birth, but I have lots of pictures about them
and my mother tells us beautiful stories about them. We keep their memories in our hearts.
I feel myself very lucky because of my family. I think the family is the second most important
thing in our life after the health. We spend as much time together as we can. We love chatting
and playing cards. There is always a lot to do, so I help my mother with watering the flowers,
tiding up, cleaning up the mess and hanging out the washing. Sharing the housework is never
easy, but in my family everybody has to do something and everybody is responsible for her
own room. I hate most wash up the dishes therefore I ask my sister to do it instead of me. I
like washing the floor, cooking, and doing the shopping with my mum. As I get older I do
more housework that helps me be more independent in my own life.

Family types
My opinion is that family is very important in our life. The family is a place where we can
feel ourselves in safe. We can share our important moments of our life with the family
members. There are close relationships which are very strong. A good family supports our
goals and decisions.
In a happy, complete life, the family is indisposed which everybody deserves. Gone are the
days when nuclear families that contain a mum, a dad and one or more children, are
considered the norm on the World. These days, different family types are not only common
but also much more accepted than they were in the past. It's not uncommon to be raised by a
single mother or to be part of a mixed family. It seems more uncommon to live in a household
where both parents are happily married, unfortunately, although many of those families still
exist.
Nuclear families, also known as elementary or traditional families, consist of two parents
(usually married or common law) and their children. Nuclear families may have one or more
children who are biological or adopted, but the main idea is that the parents are raising their
kids together in the family home. The strength of nuclear family is that children raised in a
stable parenting situation.
The single parent family consists of one parent raising one or more children on his own. This
family may include a single mother with her children, a single dad with his kids. The single
parent family is the biggest change society has seen in terms of the changes in family
structures. Single parent families are generally close and find ways to work together to solve
problems, such as dividing up household chores. When only one parent is at home, it may be
a struggle to find childcare, as there is only one parent working. This limits income and
opportunities in many cases, although many single parent families have support from relatives
and friends.
The extended family structure consists of two or more adults who are related, either by blood
or marriage, living in the same home. This family includes many relatives living together and
working toward common goals, such as raising the children and keeping up with the
household duties. Many extended families include cousins, aunts or uncles and grandparents
living together. This type of family structure may form due to financial difficulties or because
older relatives are unable to care for themselves alone.
While most people think of family as including children, there are couples who either cannot
or choose not to have children. The childless family is sometimes the "forgotten family," as it
does not meet the traditional standards set by society. Childless families consist of two
partners living and working together. They could be adventurous couples who don't feel like
kids would be a good fit for their lifestyle. These relationships can be between wife and
husband, husband and husband, wife and wife, or partner and partner.
A stepfamily is when two separate families merge into one. This can go several different
ways, like two divorced parents with one or more children blending families, or one divorced
parent with kids marrying someone who has never been married and has no kids. Like single-
parent families, step-families have become more common over the years. Like all these
different family types, stepfamilies also have a unique set of strengths and weaknesses that
they need to deal with. Children get the benefit of having two parents around or they and their
new siblings or step-parents can form strong bonds. However, adjustment can be difficult for
parents and children. Parents can run into problems trying to discipline each other's kids.
Many grandparents today are raising their grandchildren for a variety of reasons. One in
fourteen children is raised by their grandparents, and the parents are not present in the child's
life. This could be due to parents' death, addiction, abandonment or being unfit parents. Many
grandparents need to go back to work or find additional sources of income to help raise their
grandchildren.
