PT6A-42A (BS1192) Engines.

B. Concurrent Requirements

C. Reason

(1) Problem

There is a customer requirement to convert PT6A-42A Build Specification (BS)

1192 engines in service to PT6A-42A (BS1415) configuration.

(2) Cause

No documentation exists to allow the engine conversion.

(3) Solution

This service bulletin provides the minimum hardware requirements to convert the
PT6A-42A (BS1192) to PT6A-42A (BS1415).

D. Description

PT6A-42A (BS1192) is converted to the BS1415 configuration.

E. Compliance

CATEGORY 8 - This service bulletin is optional and can be done at the discretion of the
operator.

F. Approval

D.O.T. approved. This Service Bulletin describes the approved means to convert engine
model and change the data plate accordingly.

G. Manpower

No more man-hours are necessary to include this service bulletin at overhaul.

B. Reidentify the converted engine as follows:

WARNING: USE EYE PROTECTION WHEN YOU WRITE WITH THE VIBRATION
PEENING PROCEDURE.
(1) Use the vibration peening procedure, 0.003 to 0.006 in. (0.08-0.15 mm) deep, and
identify the data plate as follows:

(a) Remove existing identification plate P/N 3103470-01 in accordance with the
overhaul manual instructions.

NOTE: Do not discard the identification plate. Return them to your P&WC
representative.

(c) Install new identification plate P/N 3103470-01 in accordance with the overhaul
manual instructions.

maintenance or overhaul manual instructions.
