Main Build Types

- Assist-centric (sacrifice EX Mode) for characters with not very useful EX Modes.
- EX-centric (sacrifice Assist, but not completely) for characters with really good EX modes.
- Hybrids for a mix of the two.
- Pure EX-centric (sacrifice Assist completely) for Gabranth.
- EX-Revenge-centric for characters with easily spammable high-damage moves.
- Basic damage accessories and boosters for dealing lots of damage.
- Wall Rush builds. Same as above but for chars with lots of attacks that cause wall rush.
- Brave increase build for Shantotto.
- Iai strike level 1 build (on a secondary set for 000 mode).

- Ancient Weapon: Damage +40% and Defense -50% (Glass canon)
- Final Strike: EX Absorption & Range Boost and Ast Charge & Duration Boost (3 shitty level 1 items though)
- King of Tragedy: EX Revenge Duration +40% and EX Revenge Damage +50%
- Succubus’s Soul: HP Depletion on HP Attack +20%

EX Modes

Characters with Great EX Modes

Warrior of Light – +10 Defense, light swords for some additional damage, and magic block while attacking.
Firion – Damage to HP.
Terra – Double casting and gliding.
Kefka – Double casting and gliding.
Cloud – Break guard, nullifying his weakness of ease of blocking attacks. More damage with high HP.
Squall – Extra bravehits/damage and range.
Tidus – Become mage killer with auto-projectile reflect and speed boost. More damage with high HP. Dodge
invincibility lasts longer.
Prishe – Combos repeat last move and speed boost.
Gabranth – Duh. Actual moves, greater speed, and foes don’t get Map Bravery with EX Break but he does with
Assist Break.
Lightning – Can’t be wall rushed and automatically inflicts Break if attacking an opponent with 30% or less bravery.

Characters with not great but nevertheless Worthwhile EX Modes

Garland – Tanks moves while attacking. Still takes damage and can be knocked back by HP moves.
Emperor – Damage to HP.
Onion Knight – More hits in physical and magical attacks.
Cecil – 1.5 bravery damage+ and R + [] changes forms at will.
Golbez – New R + [] move that breaks the enemy after long charge time.
Bartz – New R + [] move. His best one, really quick and if enemy has same level, damage increase 8x.
Gilgamesh – Increasing everything, unless you get the Excalipoor.
Sephiroth – New R + [] move that reduces enemy HP to 1 after long charge time. Gliding.
Ultimecia – New R + [] move that seals enemy after long charge time.
Zidane - Regains jumps after dodging, invincible frames while jumping like Golbez, and 10 additional jumps.
Yuna – Double summoning on short-ranged bravery attacks.
Jecht – Continues combo even after failing first hit.
Vaan – Better stats and range, and the ability to sheathe weapon with R+[].
Feral Chaos – Faster, tougher and stronger.

Characters with Meh EX Modes but good aesthetic value (in Mode form or Burst sequence)

Kain – New R + Square move (slow but drains HP).

Kuja – Auto-magic while flying which can make him stagger. Gliding.
Shantotto - Instant recovery to base bravery after an HP attack.

Characters with Worthless EX Modes

Cloud of Darkness – Less cooldown after HP attacks.

Exdeath – Recovery time of guards decreases, and performs twice as many counterattacks.
Tifa – Increases power based on much EX Force she has.
Laguna – Less cooldown on brave moves which allows slightly greater spamming.
Zidane – Jumps 10 times in the air and is slightly invincible while doing so.

Tips

- Weapon boosts and Accessories boosts stack.

- Ultimecia: EX Duration Build + Bravery Regen + well timed Time Crushes = enemy is immobile until 9999
bravery and here comes the HP attack....

Strength to Courage only works with HP you Regen while in EX Mode; with HP gained from EXP it’s not worth it.
Force to Courage is useless with Side by Side equipped. Choose one or the other.

If you want to deal lots of damage, use Force to Courage with Hyper Ring, Muscle Belt, and a bunch of Boosters.
Since you've crippled EX, you should use Pre-EX Mode and Pre-EX Revenge.

The Best EX builds use a Boosted Dragonfly Orb in conjunction with the Genji set and Heaven's Cloud. When you
make an EX Build, you want to avoid Pearl Necklace and Close to You, as they nerf Assist to the point of near
uselessness (which you never want to do with an EX build, not even for Gabranth). This also means no Center of
the World.

The problem is that many AST-related accessories will lower your EX force absorption, and for some reason
lowering EX force absorption will ALSO severely slow down Gabranth's EX Charge ability. The opposite is not true;
raising EX force absorption does NOT speed up EX Charge.

Negatives also get boosted by multipliers. That's why Tenacious Attacker and Gluttony actually have a use now
even though Close To You still exists. Close To You gives you the combined effect of both of these accessories at
once, but also has Assist Charge -30%. Neither Tenacious Attacker nor Gluttony have any drawback at all.
