CHARACTERISTICS & APPLICATIONS
1.2 SEAL-LINK
CHARACTERISTICS
The seal-link rivet is fully waterproof due to the fact that the rivet body is
completely closed.
After the rivet is placed, the mandrel head is securely locked into the rivet
body and is vibration-resistant.
APPLICATIONS
Gas- and waterproof blind rivets are used in applications where the
intrusion of damp and water is undesirable (e.g. coach work) and to prevent
loss of pressure (in air ducts), and in environments where the broken
mandrel head cannot be allowed to linger (e.g. electronics applications).

48
CHARACTERISTICS & APPLICATIONS
1.3 MULTI-LINK
CHARACTERISTICS
The multi-link rivet was developed to provide large grip ranges. Each multi-link
rivet has a larger grip range than traditional blind rivets.
The rivet forms a large bulb on the back side when the mandrel is pulled out,
giving it a larger surface and thus creating a stronger link.
Thanks to its typical shape, the mandrel head is locked into the body, creating a
splash-proof link that is also vibration-resistant.
APPLICATIONS
This product has a wide range of applications. Due to its specific design it is
highly suitable for connecting soft and brittle materials, such as plastic,
cardboard, etc.

CHARACTERISTICS & APPLICATIONS
1.4 TRI-LINK
CHARACTERISTICS
The body of the tri-link rivet has three grooves that bend open upon traction,
creating a large head at the back side.
This makes the tri-link rivet particularly suited for connecting very soft and
breakable materials that do not have high pull-out strength and shear capacity
requirements.
APPLICATIONS
This type of blind rivet is frequently used for attaching leather, plastic, glass,
cardboard, etc.

62
CHARACTERISTICS & APPLICATIONS
APPLICATIONS
Peel rivets are mainly used when the material on the back side is soft, while the material on the
front side is hard, for example a steel or aluminium plate on a wooden or fibre board.
CHARACTERISTICS
The grooved rivet was specially developed for attaching hard materials on a fibrous base (e.g. wood or
plastic) where the hole does not penetrate all the way (pot hole) and the link is made inside the hole.
The grooves in the body connect with the material.
The breaking point of the mandrel is such that the remaining part stays in the body, ensuring that
the link does not lose strength.
APPLICATIONS
This type of rivet is often used in so-called ‘flight-cases’ for attaching the aluminium corners and edge
strips on the wooden cases.
CHARACTERISTICS
The hammer drive blind rivet is made of hard aluminium (AlMg 5.0) with a stainless steel drive pin and
was developed for connecting hard materials onto solid wood with holes that do not go all the way
through. When the drive pin is driven into the hammer rivet, the back end of the rivet splits into
three or four parts, establishing the connection. Hammer drive blind rivets are placed using a regular
hammer.

CHARACTERISTICS & TYPES

The back side does not need to be accessible.
Available heads:
- cylindrical head
- countersunk head
- reduced countersunk head
TYPES
Blind rivet nuts with a cylindrical shaft that are placed in a pre-drilled hole
have grooves on the shaft and under the head, which allow the nut to grip the
material and prevent turning.
Blind rivet nuts with a hexagonal shaft can only be placed in a hexagonally cut
hole. This means that it is impossible for the nut to turn.
Closed type rivet nuts are ideally suited for application in wet
environments. Because of its closed nature, this nut type is waterproof.

BLIND RIVET NUTS / PIN AND COLLARS SPECIALS
The so called pre-bulb blind rivet nut is also provided with four vertical
“grooves”. This type of nut has a stronger wallthickness, the reason that the
grooves are slightly bow, is to set the nut easier and more controlled.
Because of this, the connection is stronger. Available in M5 up to M10.
Applications are comparable with the so called split nut.
118
PLEASE NOTE: Above-mentioned specials can be delivered in different sizes
