Cas Final Interview
Cas Final Interview
CAS programme
• What have you learned about balancing your time with your choices and commitments?
Balancing time and commitments is a challenging task, but by taking part in CAS and
finishing 18 experiences, I developed skills and strategies for effective time management.
By engaging in a variety of creative, physical, and service activities, I learned to prioritize
my time and responsibilities, and to make the most of my experiences.
• How did knowing the CAS stages assist you? Where else can you apply these CAS stages
in future learning or in life in general?
Knowing the stages of the CAS program (investigation, preparation, action, reflection,
and demonstration) assisted me to in develop a well-rounded education and personal
development. By following this structured approach to CAS activities, I took part in
engaging in experiences that are meaningful, challenging, and impactful.
In the future these CAS stages will ensure that I can make informed decisions, engage in
meaningful experiences, and continuously learn and grow
• Describe your CAS project: how you planned, who collaborated, your roles and
responsibilities and the results of your collaboration. How were your expectations met?
Our computer class was tasked with creating and organizing a school Hackathon for the
lower grades. It seemed like a massive task, and I wondered how the entire event would
play out. After a lot of deliberation, we decided to create roles to ensure the event would
be seamless and make the event more manageable to organize. While there were multiple
roles, such as auditor, logistics, and certificate writer, I decided that I would be on the
logistics team and help out wherever I could. In this stage, I started to learn the
importance of collaboration. Being part of a large project like this was challenging but
working together with my classmates and dividing responsibilities can help make the task
more manageable. Additionally, I learned the importance of clear communication and
delegation of tasks, as well as the value of taking on responsibility and following through
my commitments. Furthermore, by participating in the event, I had the opportunity to
contribute to the education and growth of younger students, which is a wonderful
experience. The hackathon we organized not only gave me the chance to develop my own
skills, but also provided a platform for others to learn, grow, and discover their own
passions and interests.
• What is the most important take away from CAS?
The most important takeaway from CAS was personal growth and skills development. By
engaging in experiences that are meaningful, challenging, and impactful, I was able to
develop a strong sense of self-awareness and grow both personally and professionally.
Though these experiences I also was able to achieve CAS learning outcomes.
CAS also provided me opportunities to develop skills such as teamwork, leadership,
communication, and problem-solving, which can be applied in many different areas of
life.
• What were the challenges faced and how they were overcome?
There can be several challenges faced I faced in CAS, such as time management such as
balancing the time commitments of the different strands of the CAS program was difficult,
especially for while managing academics and other extracurricular activities. Also finding
activities that are meaningful, challenging, and impactful was difficult. I could overcome
these challenges in a variety of ways, such as by setting achievable goals, seeking support
from peers and mentors, and continually reflecting on personal growth and development.
The process of reflection and collecting evidence for CAS experiences helped me
develop many of the attributes of the IB learner profile such as by engaging in new
and diverse experiences, I broadened my perspectives and became more open-minded.
And through the process of reflection, I gained insight into my thoughts, emotions,
and experiences, which helped me become more self-aware. Furthermore, engaging in
service activities helped me develop empathy and concern for others, as well as a
sense of social responsibility. Additionally, by stepping out of my comfort zone and
engaging in new experiences, I developed a willingness to take risks and try new
things. Also, by participating in the different strands of the CAS program, I learnt
how to balance my time and commitments. The process of reflection and collecting
evidence for my CAS experiences can be a valuable tool for personal growth and
development, helped me to develop important attributes of the IB learner profile

• What advice do you have for upcoming CAS students regarding making CAS
enjoyable, sustained over time and meaningful?
Few tips for upcoming CAS students to help make their experience enjoyable,
sustained over time, and meaningful are first, before starting your CAS journey, take
the time to reflect on what you hope to get out of the experience and set achievable
goals. This can help to keep you motivated and on track as you progress. Second, the
most meaningful and sustainable CAS experiences are those that are rooted in
personal passion and interest. Try to find activities that you enjoy and that align with
your values, so that you can approach them with enthusiasm and dedication. Third,
one of the key components of the CAS program is community engagement. Look for
opportunities to connect with local organizations and communities, as this can help to
deepen your understanding of the issues you are trying to address and make your
impact more meaningful. Finally, seek out a network of peers, mentors, or teachers
