STITCH EXPLANATION Grafting Holding the 2 needles parallel with wrong sides of fabric together, thread a large-eyed, blunt needle with one of the yarn ends and work as follows:

Insert needle as if to purl into first stitch on front piece. Insert needle as if to knit into first stitch on back piece. Then follow steps 1-4 as outlined below. 1) Insert needle as if to knit through first st on front needle and let the st drop from needle. 2) Insert needle into 2nd st on front needle as if to purl and pull the yarn through, leaving st on the needle. 3) Insert needle into first st on back needle as if to purl and let it drop from the needle, then 4) insert it as if to knit through 2nd st on back needle and pull the yarn through, leaving st on needle. Repeat steps 1-4 until all sts are gone. When finished, adjust tension as necessary. Weave in ends. NOTE The Body and Sleeves are knit separately in the round to the underarms, then joined together for the Yoke and knit to the neck. BODY Using smaller needles and MC, cast on 132 (146, 160, 174, 186) sts. Join, being careful not to twist, and place marker (pm) for beg of rnd. Purl 1 rnd, *knit 1 rnd, purl 1 rnd; repeat from * 2 more times. Change to larger needles and work in St st until piece measures 12 (12, 13, 13, 14) from beg, or desired length to underarm. Work to 6 (6, 7, 7, 8) sts before marker. Dont break yarn; set piece aside.

SLEEVES Using smaller dpn and 1 strand each of D and E held tog, cast on 26 (29, 32, 35, 37) sts. Join, being careful not to twist, and pm for beg of rnd. Purl 3 rnds, *knit 3 rnds, purl 3 rnds; repeat from * 2 more times. Change to larger dpns and MC (changing to circular needle as soon as sts will fit comfortably around), and working in St st, inc 1 st each side of marker every 3 rnds 0 (0, 0, 0, 2) times, every 4 rnds 0 (4, 13, 13, 12) times, and every 5 rnds 10 (7, 0, 0, 0) times 46 (51, 58, 61, 65) sts. Work even until Sleeve measures 17

Knit 3 (4, 5, 6, 7) rows in MC, inc 0 (0, 1, 0, -1) sts on last row 180 (200, 225, 240, 255) sts. Work in St st, following chart, decreasing as follows (changing to shorter needle when necessary): Dec Rnd 17 K 2, (k2tog, k 3) around to last 3 sts, k2tog, k 1 144 (160, 180, 192, 204) sts. Dec Rnd 27 (K2tog, k 2) around 108 (120, 135, 144, 153) sts. Dec Rnd 33 (K2tog, k 1) around 72 (80, 90, 96, 102) sts. Dec Rnd 39 (K 2, k2tog) around, ending k 0 (0, 2, 0, 2) 54 (60, 68, 72, 77) sts.
