1 General Safety Instructions
• Before beginning the installation of your product, qualified personnel (skilled in electronic/electrical installation)
must read completely this guideline. Important information contained herein is to prevent danger and damages of
the used product or vehicle. The Workshop / Company that is responsible for the initial installation must guarantee
the proper installation for at least 12 months
• We are not liable for any damages or errors that occur due to following this installation manual.
• Do not disassemble the device. Do not touch before unplugging the power supply if the device is damaged, the power
supply cables are not isolated or the isolation is damaged.
• The device may be connected only by qualified individuals.
• Warning!! May explode, if wrong accumulator is used.
• Any installation and/or handling during a lightning storm is prohibited.
• All installations have to be completed with a function test according this manual. Instructions must not be ignored
(e.g. missing permanent power or connection to ignition) and wrong installations will cause the need of a new
installation date.

•
• GPS antenna must be placed so its state is as horizontal as possible with the right side showing to the sky (sticker down).
Don’t put it on the front window.
• Don’t place it under metal.
• Don’t bend the cable.
• Try to avoid electric disturbance (radio, mp3 player). If electric fields could disturb the signal, you can place most antennas
also outside (check with your dealer first).
• For covert installation: place the antenna first on the dashboard, it should fetch the signal prior to hiding it. Under certain
circumstances hiding the antenna will deteriorate the GPS Fix (the quality of the GPS position) and could lead to higher
power consumption (search for GPS).
1.10 Installation Tests
The installation team is responsible to test all vehicles outside with GPS connection. All tests must be done according the
instruction prior to handing over the vehicle to the customer.
For devices installed in vehicles:
• Drive 200 ‐ 500 meters, switch off the ignition for minutes, switch it on again and driver back and stop in front of the
workshop if possible.
• Verify your test using the online test tool
For mobile trackers:
• Trigger some data points outside
• Verify your test using the online data tool
We provide a test tool, that also works for smartphones or tablets:
https://service.sw‐management.at/BoxServer/partneradmin/
• The username and password will be given by us. Please contact us via phone or email to get the username and password!
• The IMEI must be entered 100% correctly. Also the email is necessary to get events and to get the list per email!
• You must click on “Start Data Recording” so that you can start your tests as shown below
After you entered a valid IMEI:
Click on the link to see the data. You can also use this link on a smartphone or tablet, if you do the installation in the vehicle!
Installation is only complete if the following mandatory test results are accomplished successfully:
TS (Timestamp): Current data is shown (check ts coloum for the timing, be aware of time zone differences, it uses
Lat / Lon /Alt (GPS Position): the gps position and altitude is shown, you could check the values by entering them in
Google Maps.
Speed: when driving speed is higher than 0.
Dig In 1 (Digital Input 1) must be 1if ignition is ON (only if ignition signal is connected to digital input 1)
Dig In 1 (Digital Input 1) must be 0 if ignition is OFF (only if ignition signal is connected to digital input 1)
Certain accessories are also shown
Drivercode: if an iButton is connected to the reader, there will be
1.13 Documentation
After finishing your installation and tests you should send a Installation Document to your customer/partner:
For a better overview the list of installed vehicles shall be summarized and handed over. Please send us a list with all the
vehicles, SIM‐Card‐numbers and IMEI.

Tracking Unit
Different tracking units have different numbers of Digital Inputs. See above for finding the right pin for digital inputs. In cases
when sensor output signal is negative an additional relay has to be installed to convert negative signal to positive.
GPS Tracking Units have various digital inputs that can process simple status signals (0 = off, 1 = ON).
Other examples for vehicle signals that could be connected to digital inputs (depending on the vehicle and how you can
connect): Ignition, Door/hood open/closed, Seat belt on/off, Fuel tank lid open/close, 4‐wheel drive on/off, light on/off.
Interaction between the tracking box digital inputs and the vehicle signal needs skilled professional people (in a workshop) AND
the electrical plan of the vehicle. Most workshops know about how and where to connect a digital input to the vehicle. In rare
cases (or depending on the vehicle brand and model) you will need a special CANBUS interface to get the vehicle signal safely
from the vehicle without interfering the CANBUS. If you are not sure, consult a professional workshop or dealer or search for the
vehicle electronical switching plan online:
http://www.installation24.com/index.php?i=0&seiten_id=3&id=
The digital outputs can be activated using special SMS commands that can be requested when necessary.
The usage of outputs can lead to dangerous situations and needs precaution. The provider EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS
ALL WARRANTIES OR LIABILITIES that could be caused by connecting outputs. The customer bears the risk of any
consequential damages.
A possible configuration:
The relay is connected with the OUT 1 cable, that its pulls , if the output is active (in other words when ground is coming over
the OUT 1 cable)
If the relay is active, the ignition will not work.
If the relay is not active, the ignition will work.
If the tracking device is not working or would be damaged, the ignition would work!
