Math 5 DLP - Q3 W3d1 5

The document is a lesson plan for a 5th grade mathematics class about polygons. The lesson plan has the following objectives: 1) Visualizes, names, and describes polygons with 5 or more sides; 2) Describes and compares properties of polygons (regular and irregular polygons). The lesson will include activities to introduce different polygons using real objects and geoboards, discuss their properties such as number of sides and angles, and classify polygons based on these properties. Students will participate in guided practice to match polygon names to their number of sides and independently practice naming polygons based on the number of sides. The lesson will be evaluated through a short activity to complete statements about polygon properties.

E D

The capital letters assigned at each vertex are used to name the sides of the polygon, angles
of the polygon and the polygon itself. The 5 sides namely line AB, BC, CD, AE and DE. It has
five angles, namely angle A, B, C, D, and E. We name the polygon by identifying all its vertices
in consecutive order. The name of the polygon may be any of the following: polygon ABCDE,
polygon BCDEA, polygon CDEAB, polygon DEABC
