THE ROLE OF PASTORAL CARE & COUNSELLING WITHIN PENTECOSTAL CHURCH MINISTRIES OF PENDURTHY AT VISAKHAPATNAM, A.P
1. The statement of problem: Todays believers are drawback from churches and become backsliders, why because that the lack of proper caring and counseling among believers. Even pastors are not having regular visitations and the lack of interest in church growth for future church ministry. The research wants to strengthen the church and giving correct guidelines for future church growth ministry and betterment of all believers in churches by the impact of Pastoral care & counseling as a dynamite instrument. 2. The review of the literature
2.1. Literature primarily relevant to deal failures of believers in churches:

Howard Clinebell, in his book : Basic types of Pastoral care and counselling, it addresses that "Ministers are the only professional persons with training in counselling who have automatic entree to the world of most sorrowing people. This gives clergy an unparalleded opportunity and responsibility to be effective guides and companions of the bereaved as they walk through their

shadowed valley of loss. Obviously it help pastors to develop a high degree of competence in bereavement care and counselling".
2.2. Literature focused on solutions of internal problems of churches:

Harold Taylors, Tend my sheep discusses the approach to issues of problems in the churches. He says we see that the counsellor has to be flexible in his approach. He has to consider in each case whether the client belongs to a traditional authority-based culture or is able to make a more individualistic approach to problems. Any counselling method is correct which effectively achieves the aim of helping the client to develop towards maturity and to experience the abundant life that is available in Jesus Christ. This is more important than following a particular counselling text books. 3. Objectives: 3.1. To study about Pastoral care & counseling and its methods. 3.2. To observe the socio-cultural background of Pendurthy in Visakhapatnam. 3.3. To examine the attitudes of believers regarding social problem, which they face. 3.4. To study the important counselling methods and develop a relevant models for church.

4. Hypothesis: Pastoral counsellor must be aware of the social problem of believers.

LIMITATIONS: This research will cover the place of Pendurthy. The reason for limitation is because of vast area of Visakhapatnam. The research can conduct among Christians for future brightness of church. 7.
