The University of the Philippines Open University values data privacy and confidentiality. They will only collect, process, retain, and use personal information when necessary, such as to assist students with assessments for MOOCs. They have security measures in place to protect information from loss or unauthorized access. As a general rule, personal information will not be shared with third parties unless reasonably necessary for university programs or authorized by law. Data Privacy Statement 

The University of the Philippines Open University values the confidentiality of any data you
have entrusted to us. We will collect, process, retain and/or use personal information only when
it is reasonable and necessary, such as, but not limited to, when we need your personal
information to assist you with your assessment to qualify in the MOOCs. We have implemented
reasonable and adequate security measures to protect the information we hold from loss, misuse,
modification, unauthorized or accidental access or disclosure, and alteration or destruction. As a
general rule, we will not share your personal information with any third party, unless reasonably
necessary for the conduct of our program, or authorized under the law. We may also use and/or
share photo/ video/ audio documentation from the program for institutional and non-commercial
purposes only.
