Web Project Proposal by Slidesgo

This document provides an overview of mechatronics, defining it as a multidisciplinary field that combines mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and control engineering. It discusses the etymology of the word, noting it comes from the Greek words for mechanics and electronics. The document also outlines some important events in the development of mechatronics, lists industries that utilize mechatronics, and notes several countries where mechatronics is recognized as a field. It concludes by describing the typical academic plan and areas of knowledge for mechatronic engineers.

MECHATRONIC

Level 11
Aydan Salvador Montoya Alvarez
WHAT IS?
It is a multidisciplinary branch of engineering, which
develops devices and technologies from various fields
of knowledge in which various areas come together,
along with the combined use of robotics and electronic
engineering and Computer/Systems science.
ETYMOLOGY

• The word mechatronics is combined by two words, mechanics and

electronics.

 The mechanical word comes from the Greek "makhanikos"

composed of "makhane: machine" and the suffix "ikos: -ico"
(relative to)
 On the other hands, the electronic word comes from the Greek
"elektron: amber" which refers to "electric"
WHAT DOES MECHATRONICS THUS?

• On the whole, mechatronics thus encompasses the development of products that involve a
control system for intelligent products or processes.
WHAT HAS
MECHATRONICS BEEN
LOOKING FOR THROUGH
TIME?
• Through the years, mechatronics has been looking to create more
complex machinery to facilitate the activities of the human being
through electronic processes of control systems applied in the
industry.
• Objective: • Industries that use mechatronics:
