======================================================================
Hello, how are you? I'm Allen and this is my walkthrough for Pokemon Kanlara
Ultimate, welcome to it! It's my 14th walkthrough overall since I started in early
2019. Here we are in early December 2020, the end of a lousy year thanks to many,
many reasons. Will 2021 be better or will it just turn out to be 2020: Reloaded?
We'll see :) I played the previous version Kanlara Adventures a while back and I
thought it was a lovely game. So I hope Ultimate will be just as fun and you are
looking forward to seeing what it has to offer. Let's begin.
We are greeted by Professor Woke (Oak in his woke form?? xD) for the standard
introduction. I named our Rival Blue but you can name him anything you wish of
course. Afterwards we appear in our room, playing some Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
on our Switch. Playing Ultimate in Ultimate, hmm. There's a Potion in Item Storage.
Downstairs we find Mom, she tells us that Blue is next door. Steppin' out!

Blue meets us outside and we go with him to the Lab. It's urgent. Prof. Woke has
some terrible news - Team Rocket are in Kanlara! After all the trouble they caused
in Kanto and Johto, what are they doing here? Woke wants us to travel across the
region and maybe find out what's going on. We receive the PokeDex, 3 Potions and 3
Pokeballs. Great, what about our Starter? Well the good Professor didn't have time
to prepare Pokemon for us...are you serious? Come on, Woke xD. Even Blue isn't too
happy about that, he leaves and comes back with a Pokemon he got as a birthday
present...but he didn't like it so we get it instead:
PORYGON (Lv5)
Type: Normal
Ability: Trace
Moves Known: Conversion 2, Tackle, Conversion, Sharpen
Next door at Woke's home there's Blue's sister who gives us the Town Map. Liana is
the person in green outside, she is looking to trade her Sunkern for a Starly.
We're told there are no wild Pokemon in the grass. The guy standing by the Gym says
Blue is waiting for us on Waygo Path. I wonder which Gym that one is, final Gym? At
the PokeMart, here's what is on offer:
We'll be back with HM Cut for the curious item south from the Lab and HM Surf so we
can explore the cave in the west. Back home Mom just heals our Pokemon. I guess now
we're ready to leave. Bye Ma!
There's Blue just up ahead. No first Rival Battle, that's new, he has some tips and
advice for us since we're a new Trainer and all. Our first Gym challenge will be at
the one back in town. Nice. Let's have a look at this route first, do some training
and then check out the Gym. A little further north are the first Trainers, a pair
of twins.
Below those steps on the right is a Burn Heal. After the twins is Ben and then the
gate leading to Kanja City.
Youngster Ben
(Lv5 Woobat, Poochyena)
Prize: P80
Ignore the gate for now, when you're done training head back to town.
[g1] MERRYFALL TOWN GYM - "Everyone's Welcome to Get Fit!"
=======================
The interior brings back memories of Karate King's Saffron Dojo. There are 4 Gym
Trainers and we find out that the Gym Leader is our resident Professor!
Working on the left side boulder is Benji while Dron is on the right.
We can give Woke some props for having time to hit the Gym when he's not busy with
Lab work...but that still doesn't make up for not having proper Starters ready,
look at his team! This guy, xD!
>>GYM BATTLE<<
==============
Leader Woke
(Lv9 Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle)
Prize: P900
The hilarity isn't over. Woke tells us that they lost their Gym license! No Gym
Badge. Instead we'll have to travel to Kanja City and challenge the Gym there for
Badge #1. Incredible. Woke gives us TM09 Bullet Seed as a consolation prize. TMs
are not reusable in this game, just so you know.
The city is further north and to the east is Kanja Boulevard. We can't reach the
Boulevard yet because it's undergoing construction but on the way there we meet Ed
and Eddy, the world's greatest tag team. Where's Double Dee?
Youngster Tag Team
(Lv11 Snubbull & Growlithe)
Prize: P352
There's also a Mart employee who is setting up Vending Machines all over the
region. Back to the city road, that guy on the rock cliff won't let us pass unless
we beat him.

We meet up with Blue and our new friend May from Hoenn! She's here visiting Kanlara
and is willing to help us stop Team Rocket. Two problems: Blue says the Gym is
closed. There's trouble in Kanja Woods, Blue and May are going there to
investigate. Damn, okay let's look around town before joining them.
The Biker chilling on the right gives us a Super Potion and lets us know that Marts
change stock as we get stronger. In the PokeCenter, the Lass on the right wants to
trade her Poochyena for a Stufful. Lass on the left says we can buy Berries in a
place called Elder Village. The little girl behind the front desk is eager to
battle if you're up for it.
All the bikes are sold out at the Shop and the shopkeeper doesn't know when the
next shipment will arrive. Outside the shop is TM12 Taunt and that's a Potion
behind the hill. In the house above from the Mart there's Chad, the blonde guy,
he's bored and since we're a fellow Trainer, well...
Youngster Chad
(Lv8 Gligar, Lv10 Stufful)
Prize: P160
With his mood picked up, he gives us a Silk Scarf. The other man tells us about the
Gym's signature types Grass and Bug. Elise is the Gym Leader, big fan of Bug
Pokemon.
Next door speak to the man and receive a Sentret if you can make room in your
party. The east gate leads to the Kanja Boulevard, which is open now and has a
number of Trainers. Pause on going there for now until we sort out the Kanja Woods
issue and get a Badge.
We find out about the Haunted Mansion being occupied by a strange Pokemon that
comes out at night.
Near the Gym is a boy hiding between the trees, he'll battle us just for finding
him.
The woman blocking the entrance says Elise is missing, she hasn't been around in a
while. Where could she be? We go west for the Rainy Path.
The rest of the route can't be explored yet because of a tree blocking our way. The
Hiker we find says we should see him after getting the Kanja Badge. Head for the
gate.
Blue and May have been waiting for us, we travel onwards with them until Blue sees
what looks like a building ahead. It's the Haunted Mansion. Suddenly there's a
sound from inside, someone's in trouble. Blue goes in first, May reluctantly
follows and before we know it night time is upon us. Let's look around first before
entering the Mansion. To the east we find a path going north, it takes us to Elijah
and then the area behind the Mansion where we can pick up a Net Ball.
Back to the east path, the next Bug Catchers are Brent and Conner.
Near Conner is an Old Rod (!) what a find. We'll be back when we can surf. In the
grass below is a Miracle Seed. Now for the Mansion.
-1F-
We won't have to move too far to find out what's going on here because as soon as
we enter we see a Rocket Grunt. Here we go.
There are 2 stairways on the right, one leading to 2F and the other one going down
to the basement. We can't go below, it's too dark. Upstairs then.
-2F-
Almost hidden in the corner just on the left is Zinc. In the first room there's a
diary entry. Continue along the corridor to another diary entry, second mention of
this Butler character. There's a turn on the right, leads to Calcium almost hidden
and another smaller corridor going east to a checkered tile room with a big smiley
face. One more Calcium. Back to the main corridor and go all the way to see an old
man blocking access to stairs leading to the attic. Off limits and he says the
rumours about this place aren't true. Are you sure? Return to 1F and go on into the
room past the Frillish Grunt, there's another Grunt running laps around a long
table.
Then we find Blue and May, they're seeing a confrontation in progress between Elise
and a Rocket Admin who is looking for an unidentified legendary Pokemon. Elise says
she doesn't know about it. The Admin sends her goons to make her talk but Blue and
May step in to face the Grunts. That leaves us to deal with the Admin.
>>BOSS BATTLE<<
===============
She backs down, warning Elise not to interfere with Team Rocket before leaving.
Elise tells us that they kidnapped her while she was out for a walk in the forest.
Now that she's okay Elise returns to the Gym, Blue and May leave too. There's
nothing else we can do here for now, so back to town and we visit the Gym.
There are 5 paths going north, the 3 middle ones each lead to a Gym Trainers
Bridget on the left, Janice in the middle and Diana on the right.

(Lv15 Shroomish, Lv17 Yanmega)
Prizes: P1700 + Badge of Serenity + TM19 Giga Drain
Use of HM Cut out of battle granted. Great Balls and Super Repels have now been
added to PokeMarts.
Waiting outside the Gym is Prof. Woke. He had a chat with Prof. Oak and the man
wasn't too happy about Woke not giving us a Starter Pokemon. No surprise haha. Oak
sent him the Kanto Starters and we get to pick one. Don't worry if your party is
full, your choice will be sent to the PC Box:
CHARMANDER (Lv12)
Type: Fire
Ability: Blaze
Moves Known: Scratch, Growl, Ember
Item Held: Oran Berry
SQUIRTLE (Lv12)
Type: Water
Ability: Rain Dish
Moves Known: Tackle, Tail Whip, Water Gun, Withdraw
Item Held: Oran Berry
BULBASAUR (Lv12)
Type: Grass/Poison
Ability: Chlorophyll
Moves Known: Tackle, Growl, Leech Seed, Vine Whip
Item Held: Oran Berry
Woke returns to the lab. If you have time, go back to Merryfall Town and cut the
tree there so you can pick up a Leaf Stone. Back to the Rainy Path and speak with
the Hiker, he sees the Badge and gives us HM01 Cut so we can clear away the tree
for him. His journey continues :) let's have a look at that Boulevard.
[rt4] KANJA BOULEVARD
---------------------
Our first battle is a Double Battle against the two ladies up top.
Giovanni's Battle Facility is here but not yet open to the public. A side hustle
for the Rocket boss, eh? Next match is against Alex.

Youngster is Calvin.
Youngster Calvin
(Lv14 Wooper)
Prize: P224
Carry on to Sally.
Lass Sally
(Lv13 Wingull, Fletchling)
Prize: P208
We reach the beach, finding an abandoned bicycle. Pick it up and return to the Bike
Shop so it can be repaired for P500. Got ourselves a Bicycle now, great. Final
Trainer is little Amira.
Tuber Amira
(Lv12 Totodile, Squirtle, Mudkip)
Prize: P48
Further west from the Rainy Path is Destiny/Sunnyside Coast but no HM Surf so we go
south to Sena's Grove.
Vending Machine:
Fresh Water P100
Soda Pop P150
Lemonade P200
Lava Cookie P50
We find the Pikachu from the Haunted Mansion. It doesn't vanish this time but it
isn't very pleased. Nothing we can do to help. The old woman near the vending
machine will heal your Pokemon for P5. Below the Moss Cavern signboard is a Super
Repel. Let's continue going south to see what's there then we'll come back to enter
the cavern.
What we find is another Moss Cavern entrance, a Revive and Sena's Pokemon Lab. The
lab is off limits according to the rude guy blocking the entrance, so just make a
note of this place for when we return later. Near the lab is a Great Ball. This
other cavern entrance leads to TM32 Rock Polish. Can't continue further without HM
Surf and HM Waterfall. Dang. Back to the first entrance and be prepared because as
soon as you go inside...
-1F Part 1-
**NOTE: If you're lucky, you'll catch a Sableye that holds a Dark Gem. Once 10 are
collected they are to be brought to "the right gal".
North from them is a ladder going up to 2F and just past the ladder are breakable
rocks, a pool and a Good Rod! Who's the Fisherman that keeps dropping these fishing
rods?

Mind Kevin, he's the strongest Trainer up to this point!
Youngster Kevin

Prize: P504
Scientist Jerry
(Lv12 Klink, Magnemite, Lv13 Electabuzz)
Prize: P624
That's a Hard Stone in the corner on the right. Continue west then north to spot
Franklin on the left and Lucas on the right.
Hiker Franklin
(Lv15 Onix, Woobat)
Prize: P540
Hiker Lucas
(Lv14 Binacle, Roggenrola)
Prize: P504
Thanks to Franklin we know how to evolve Onix in this game, by using an Evo Stone.
Above him is an Escape Rope. Down the ladder.
-1F Part 2-
Youngster Eddie
(Lv16 Natu)
Prize: P256
To the east is Hideki and the exit, while to the west there's MikeR and then a Dark
Gem below from him.
Hiker MikeR
(Lv12 Binacle, Omanyte, Dwebble)
Prize: P480
According to Hideki, Elder Village has a very scary Gym. How bad could it be? Just
before we reach the exit, we're stopped by May. She may be our new friend...but in
the bigger picture she's Rival #2 and she figures this is a good moment to test our
Pokemon. Here it is, our very first Rival Battle.
>>RIVAL BATTLE<<
================
She's cool enough to give us HM05 Flash and drops a curious comment about not being
sure if Kanlara even has dark caves xD. You never know :) she exits the cave.

opponent is Mark.
Gentleman Mark
(Lv15 Tynamo, Goomy)
Prize: P1200
Two Double Battles ahead, first one is against Gabe and Solo.
I wasn't a big fan of the back to back Double Battles which you had to get through
in the final stretch of Kanlara Adventures and I'm seeing Double Battles are still
a theme here in Ultimate. They were interesting back in the Gen 3 days but as time
as gone on I'm grown to dislike them. Triple Battles and Horde Battles too!
In the PokeCenter we find out about resident Gym Leader Zorya the Sage, a master of
the Wind element. Said to be crazy strong. We'll see :) the Gentleman by the
bookshelf teaches Fire Punch. In the house northwest from the PokeCenter are old
men who teach Ice Punch and Thunder Punch.
Southwest house has a former Trainer who gives us an Evo Stone. I'll have an
Evolution List section far below, press CTRL + F and search [evo] for it.
The Gym is closed because Zorya is out of town. Is he out for a walk or something?
On the left is a Quick Claw. Exit the village for the southwest gate, we'll find
Brent on the way there.
Gentleman Brent
(Lv16 Hoothoot)
Prize: P1280
He says he caught Larvesta around the Power Plant. The south path leads to Robin
and Tina on the far left.

Prize: P272
Lass Tina
(Lv15 Treecko, Bulbasaur, Lv16 Marill)
Prize: P256
A pair of Beauties are blocking access to the southwest side, busy taking a selfie.
Really, ladies? xD. Southeast has a gate that leads to Highlife. Let's go back to
Mikey's section and continue northeast to witness Zorya confronting some Rocket
Grunts. They claim to be investigating the gate to learn about this region but
Zorya doesn't buy it and looks to stop them. We step in to team up with him since
the Grunts have the numbers advantage.
Team Rocket Grunt
(Lv16 Poochyena, Lv17 Murkrow)
Prize: P544
That's enough to scare them off. Zorya introduces himself as one of the Sages of
Kanlara. He sees power in us and is certain we will learn more about the lore of
this region. Interesting. Zorya leaves, hopefully going back to the Gym. The
opening leads to Resolution Path and sadly we aren't a special enough Trainer to
continue further along it. Maybe we can come back once we become Champion? You'll
find a Revive by the rock inside. Back to Elder Village and let's check out that
Gym.
The setup is just like the Viridian City Gym, with arrow tiles and constant
dizziness from too much spinning. The Gym Trainers use a variety of types so be
ready. From the entrance, step on either of the arrow tiles that are pointing to
the left, they'll send us to the first Gym Trainers Bry and Cam.
Leave their area and step on the left arrow tile of the two pointing upwards, that
sends us into a singles battle room.
Pokefan Marge
(Lv18 Wynaut, Lv20 Wobbuffet)
Prize: P1600
Pokefan Mark
(Lv18 Seedot, Lv20 Nuzleaf)

you can head down a corridor to Emmy the senior Gym Trainer.

(Lv20 Dratini)
Prize: P1440
Cooltrainer George
(Lv18 Smeargle, Trumbeak)
Prize: P648
Step on the left side upward arrow tile, takes us to final Gym Trainer Quinn.
Zorya has been able to juggle being a Sage and being a Gym Leader. How many other
Sages are out there though? And are they as powerful...or more powerful??
>>GYM BATTLE<<
==============
Leader Zorya
(Lv24 Staravia, Lv26 Pelipper, Lv28 Thundurus ?!)
Prizes: P2800 + Badge of the Wanderer + TM40 Aerial Ace
Use of HM Fly granted, fantastic. Nobody said anything about him having a surprise
legendary xD! Come on. He receives a call on his PokeNav and has to leave right
away, for a moment I thought it was going to be that scenario where the Gym Leader
rushes off somewhere without giving us the Badge and we'll only get it after
completing the next event. Phew. Full Heals are now available at PokeMarts. Prepare
if you need to and let's continue on to explore Highlife.
Those selfie Beauties are gone, the short path they were blocking access to leads
to a gate that connects Highlife Path to Caredove Path which goes on to Kaji City.
[rt9] HIGHLIFE
--------------
This is described as a tourist spot, although once we see the main attraction of
this route you gotta wonder if that's true.
Youngster Chris

Youngster Drew

Prize: P256
Lass Julia
(Lv17 Tangela, Ivysaur)
Prize: P272
Past Julia is the Kanlara Power Plant, the big tourist magnet :) but the signboard
warns people to stay out because the place has been shut down. There goes that
tourism money. In the grass are a Super Repel and an Evo Stone. Shall we?
Though the place has been shut down it's not just occupied by Pokemon from the
looks of things. Head up then right to meet the first Scientist.
Scientist Jose
(Lv18 Klink, Magnemite)
Prize: P864
Similar setup as the Kanto Power Plant, make your way to the southeast area and
pick up the Magnet. Don't toss it or lose it, we'll need it. In the northeast room
there's TM20 Thunder Wave. Go left from that room to find Rodney.
Scientist Rodney
(Lv19 Salandit)
Prize: P912
Northwest side has the generator room where Zapdos would be found in Kanto. If you
continue to the southwest room you'll see a Scientist who teaches Shock Wave, which
he claims is a bit different from the regular Shock Wave. TM34 which would normally
have Shock Wave has Scald instead in this game, just so you know. From the
Scientist go east and enter the central room to meet a familiar face, we'd
recognise that spiky hair anywhere - Lt. Surge! He's trying to activate the
generators and restore power to this place, but a key is needed and he's sure there
is one around here. We receive the ItemFinder and begin the scavenger hunt. Return
to the northeast room and search the top left container near the generator, you
should find a Rusty Key. In the Zapdos room, the ItemFinder will lead you to a
ThunderStone near the generator. Back to Surge, deliver the key and after he
confirms that it fits he gives us TM24 Thunderbolt. He realises that he can't fix
things here on his own for now and will have to bring in a friend of his from
Hoenn. Surge also wonders if a legendary Electric Pokemon will pop in for a visit
at some point just like Zapdos does back in Kanto. We'll be back to check later no
doubt. Exit the plant and return to Sena's Grove, that Magnet is going to cheer up
a certain electric mouse. This is the only obtainable Pikachu in the game, so get
it!
>>SPECIAL BATTLE<<
==================
PIKACHU (Lv30)
Type: Electric
Ability: Static
Moves Known: Quick Attack, Double Team, Slam, Discharge
Fancy cap that it's wearing :) I wonder who it belongs to. Back to Highlife Path
and then Caredove Path. Destination: Kaji City.
The two people working out in the field just above are Atsushi and Hitoshi.
Back on the main road to meet Meg and Lin. More Double Battles ahead, get ready.
The Day-Care is here if you're in need of their services. Beyond it are the final
couple and the gate.

Let's look around first.
The Gym Leader isn't around so we've found another closed Gym. Really? Every city
we arrive in will have a closed Gym? Come on. This one has been closed for a whole
year! Haha, so how have Trainers progressed in Kanlara??
At the Pokemon Club, there are people we can trade with: the guy in green wants to
trade his AegislashB for an AegislashS. It'll be holding a TM48 The guy next to
him has a Ditto if you have a Chansey. The woman above them wants an Aipom for her
Lickitung. The Gentleman on the left has a Pineco if you got a Ralts. The
Pokemaniac in the next room is willing to battle. Strongest Trainer up to this
point.
Pokemaniac Winny
(Lv30 Kecleon)
Prize: P1440
You can battle him more than once for that experience. The Cooltrainer in the
corner gives us TM10 Hidden Power. If you need more he sells them for P1500 each.
Although he says that Winny can reveal a Pokemon's Hidden Power after battling him,
that's not the case because he'll just want another match if you talk to him.
In the PokeCenter speak to the woman to get a Soothe Bell and some key information:
there's a Pokemon evolution list in the Nahara Town Library. Nice. Next door to the
PokeCenter there's a Rotom which has taken over a fridge. Good chance to get it!

ROTOM-F (Lv20)
Type: Electric/Ice
Ability: Levitate
Moves Known: ThunderShock, Confuse Ray, Uproar, Double Team
The Pokemon Move Maniac teaches moves in exchange for mushrooms. Two Tinymushrooms
or one Big Mushroom per move.
We learn that Giovanni is the Mayor! Damn, the man has been busy here but what
about Team Rocket?
Southwest side of town, there's a Super Nerd who teaches Substitute. In the
building above him check the bin near the steps for a Hyper Potion. The only open
room is on the next floor, occupied by a man who just asks if it's daytime. Doesn't
matter how you answer.
Northwest side has the Swimming Hall. The man in charge here is the male Swimmer
near the top left corner. He says he'll battle us after we defeat all the other
Trainers. No problem. The female Swimmer is Connie.
Swimmer[F] Connie

He gives us TM03 Water Pulse as a reward. Exit and head for the skyscraper a.k.a
Giovanni Enterprises. The item to the left of the building is TM06 Toxic.
Blue and May are by the steps in the northeast corner, they've been told by the
security guy that only employees can move up to the next floors. Blue comes up with
the idea to cause a distraction, it works and we proceed.
-2F-
There are more guards here and Blue notices that they look stronger than regular
Rocket Grunts. He's right, they have really high level Pokemon and it is best to
sneak past them. How high? Take a look at the first Guard:
G. Enterp. Guard
(Lv62 Arcanine, Ursaring, Conkeldurr)
Prize: P2976
Yup, Level 62. If he's defeated he will notify the other Guards to not bother us
though! (and there are plenty of them). So the choice is yours, avoid the Guards or
find some codes and defeat that first one. The Guards aren't the only issue, the
employees will kick us out of the building if they spot us. First example is the
Scientist in the southeast room, don't enter. Continue to the northwest office to
find another TM06 Toxic. Let's move up.
-3F-
Southeast room, the potted plant has Protein. Western room has a Hyper Potion.
-4F-
-5F-
Northwest office has a TM49 Roost. South side, third potted plant from the left has
an Elixir. Southwest storage area has TM01 Energy Ball. You can enter the middle
room and read the report on the table, there's work going on concerning a new type
called Demon (??). Interesting. The potted plant on the right has an item but we
can't reach it without being spotted. The smaller office on the left has a Revive.
-6F-
Northwest room has TM23 Iron Tail. Southwest room has TM12 Taunt and Carbos by the
plant.
-7F-
The small room on the left has TM08 Bulk Up. Upper room on the right, check the
bottom plant for Zinc. Far left room has a Poison Barb.
-8F-
Southwest room, check the boxes for a Nugget. Southeast room has TM31 Brick Break.
-9F-
Small room in the southwest area, check the plant near the boxes for a Max Potion.
In the room directly above it, there's Calcium by the plant on the right. TM48
Swords Dance is in the corridor above that room.
-10F-
May's here, resting after splitting up from Blue. She found a piece of paper
containing codes for one of the safecases here. Check the plant next to her for an
HP Up. Southwest storage room has a Metal Coat, Rare Candy and TM42 Facade. One
such safecase is the "flashing lights machine" in the southeast room on 9F. Inside
it is a Card Key.
-11F-
The 2 final Guards occupy the corridor on the right, some quick weaving will be
required because the locked door for the Card Key is right round on the upper left
side. After the door is unlocked, you have a chance to prepare before walking in.
Blue and May join us to surprise Giovanni. Even though he has the company of 2
female Rockets he says he isn't with Team Rocket! They're operating on their own.
So...false alarm?
We exit the building before Gio calls security. Blue feels bad about what happened,
he has to speak to Prof. Woke so he leaves. May still thinks Giovanni is up to
something despite what he said. She wants to ask us something, say Yes to going to
the lake with her. Saying No leads to her leaving, she says we'll meet again some
other time. May has to run some errands but afterwards she'll wait for us by the
lake, west from town. If we go back into the Gio E. we'll find empty offices, which
allows you to check them for more hidden items and read a few more reports:
-2F-
Southwest room, check the bottom right plant for an Ultra Ball.
-4F-
-5F-
-11F-
Check the tile on the right from the couch for a Macho Brace. Done.
The south gate leads to Nahara Trails and further south is Nahara Town. To the west
are the Kaji Outskirts.
That gate up top leads to Lake Kaji while that Youngster below is Josh. Beyond him
is Lina and the Rocky Trail.

To the Lake!
Nice spot to meet someone, eh? May certainly digs it. She feels that we've become
good friends now and gives us an Amulet Coin to remind us of that bond. She's
worried about Blue and so she leaves to check on him. Brief but sweet. There are
some Fishermen here and a couple of items that we can reach on this side of the
lake, carry on north to meet the first guy Dale.
Fisherman Dale

Prize: P500
Use the ItemFinder in the grass above him to find a Lum Berry. The cops blocking
the gate leading to Kahara Town are investigating a crime scene so no entry
yet...but more importantly, we see a familiar face in the crater - Lance! Not
enough for him to be a former Kanto Elite 4 member or Johto Champion, he's also one
of the Kanlara Sages! How'd he land that gig? He's here to examine the odd black
triangle that has been left behind after a meteor crash. Here comes trouble - a
Rocket woman named Claudia and 2 Grunts show up. Claudia is the new head of Team
Rocket! Amazing to see the boss appear instead of one of the Admins. Lance won't
let her take the triangle and just as he's ready to fight her...he trips and hurts
his leg. Dude, are you kidding?? xD!
>>BOSS BATTLE<<
===============
Claudia and her crew leave, at least it wasn't the usual case where even if we win
the battle the bad guys still end up taking the object somehow. Lance notices that
the triangle has a lock and wonders if it would be a bad idea to unlock it. There's
an energy coming from it. He unlocks it and frees Deoxys! It speaks, revealing that
it has been in there for 3000 years. For freeing it, we won't be destroyed and off
Deoxys goes. Our very first Mythical spotted. Lance mentions that he's the Kaji
City Gym Leader. Where have you been for a whole year, guy?? And that's not the
end, because of freeing Deoxys he doesn't believe he can continue being a Gym
Leader so a replacement will be found. Some good news. He gives us HM02 Fly and
leaves. Got the right Badge for it too. Let's finish exploring the desert.
Just to the northeast from the crater you'll see a Cooltrainer couple, use the
ItemFinder close to them to find a Pearl.
Below them are 3 Hikers, from top to bottom here they are:
Hiker Brice
(Lv23 Roggenrola x2, Lv25 Boldore)
Prize: P900
He's curious about that cave. We'll come back for it.
Hiker Alan
(Lv24 Stufful, Lv26 Bewear)
Prize: P936
Hiker Wayne
(Lv25 Steelix)
Prize: P900
We go back to Kaji City and find out who the new Gym Leader is.
Huh...I guess the design of Kaji City could've been the big clue because the
replacement Leader is Sabrina and she brought the look and design of her Saffron
Gym here. Mapping out this Gym (or any Gym modelled after the Saffron Gym) has
never been fun, believe me. Our first opponent is in the bottom right room.
Psychic Johan
(Lv26 Abra, Kadabra, Slowpoke)
Prize: P520
I'm going to list down the remaining Gym Trainers and then the way to reach
Sabrina:
In the center right room is Tyron. He does offer a hint about how to get around
though, alternating between north and south tiles.
Psychic Tyron
(Lv27 Spoink x2)
Prize: P540
Top right room has Cameron.
Psychic Cameron
(Lv24-28 Girafarig x3)
Prize: P560
Psychic Preston
(Lv28 Wobbuffet)
Prize: P560
Psychic Randall
(Lv26 Xatu, Lickilicky)
Prize: P520
Psychic Luca
(Lv27 Slowpoke, Slowking)
Prize: P540
Psychic Dalton
(Lv26 Bronzor, Kirlia)
Prize: P520
Now to reach Sabrina: in Johan's room use the top left tile. It takes us to
Cameron's room. Use the bottom left tile, takes us to Randall's room where you use
the bottom left tile there to pop up in the central room. She's far away from home
but was happy to accept the call to be the new Gym Leader. Welcome to Kanlara,
Sabrina!

Not even 5 minutes into town and there's trouble: Deoxys! Before it can harm the
citizens, the Sages appear - Zorya, Lance and Steven! They weaken Deoxys and don't
get to finish it because a little girl shows up to defend Deoxys, claiming it
didn't do anything wrong. Doesn't this always happen? There's a monster or a major
villain and then someone, a child usually, steps in to defend it? While all eyes
are on the girl, Claudia appears and seizes the opportunity to snag Deoxys! You'd
think the Sages would be on super red alert after that but nope, especially Lance
who says Deoxys is Claudia's problem now haha! Again, how did this guy become a
Sage?? The citizens and the girl disperse and we chat with the Sages. Zorya asks if
we know anything about Deoxys and Lance suddenly has to leave, since he's the
reason we're in this situation. Zorya and Steven leave too. Let's look around.
No surprise the Gym is closed, we're told that Leader Bruno is in the Nahara Mines
training.
In the northeast house is an old man who gives us HM06 Rock Smash. Back in his day
he WAS Rock Smash :) next door there's a Black Belt who teaches Superpower. Can
only be learned once. His housemate gives us a Black Belt. I think it's safe to dub
it as the mascot Hold Item for this game xD. Library time.
The Scientist near the right side corner teaches Iron Head once. The one by the
steps won't let us move up because we don't have enough Badges. Make a note for us
to come back here later. On the left side of the room check the top bookshelves for
information about the Evo Stone, the other Stones and alternate evolution methods.
Make a note of that man in green, Lt. Sauron. He'll have a role to play much later.
Here's the list of Pokemon that evolve by Evo Stone:
Doublade, Tyrogue.
Wurmple, Clamperl.
Fairy (Attacking)
- Stronger than Dark, Dragon, Fighting
- Weaker than Fire, Poison, Steel
Fairy (Defending)
- Stronger than Bug, Dark, Fighting, Unknown
- Weaker than Poison, Steel
- Immune from Dragon
Off to the Mines to bring back Bruno. The signboard near the gate has a warning
about a dangerous Pokemon which has been seen in the Mines. Hahaha our good pal
Lance released Deoxys into the world, how bad could this other dangerous Pokemon
be? The gate leads to Nahara Outskirts but not much we can do there until we can
smash rocks so just go straight to the Mines.
Hiker Jones

The path heads north to where Bruno is training. He is aware of the dangerous
Pokemon, it is the reason why mining stopped. After the chat he goes back to the
Gym. When you're ready, follow him.
Shades of Brock's Gym here, simple design without any gimmicks or puzzles. The 2
Hikers are Trent and Clark.

**BATTLE NOTES: Guess what Hold Item Poliwrath has :) hint: it's not Mystic Water.
With the vicious training he does on a daily basis, perhaps in another universe
Bruno would've been a Z Fighter, or maybe even a Super Saiyan. Let's see what the
Kanto Elite 4 member has to offer here!
>>GYM BATTLE<<
==============
Use of HM Rock Smash granted. No legendary surprises but the prehistoric Pokemon
are close enough. Bruno hopes for a rematch someday, he'll be in the Mines for it.
Maybe that's when he'll have his Elite 4 team. Max Potions and Max Repels now
available at Marts. Prepare for the journey to Wanjara City.
After the rocks are cleared we carry on to meet the first Trainers, Lori and
Bernie.

What's good, Wanjara? To the left you'll see a Beauty who teaches Zen Headbutt
once. Past her is May, it's been a while. She shares some news about Blue: he had
an argument with Prof. Woke and ran off! What's up with that? May gives us a spare
Coin Case that she got after trying her luck at the Arcade Hall. Then she heads off
to shop. Behind the Arcade Hall is a Luxury Ball. May tried her luck, now it's our
turn.
Make use of the ItemFinder, you'll pick up quite a number of Coins. On the right is
a Pokemon Printer, puts a print on your Trainer Card for P50. The Gentleman just
above from it gives us 20 Coins. The Scientist too. The Hiker has 10 Coins. Speak
to the woman on the right side of the front desk to buy some:
50 Coins P1000
500 Coins P10000
The man next to her has a TM Roulette, play it for P5000 to win a random TM. Don't

Same deal as the original Celadon Mansion crew, the team leader says come back when
you've completed the PokeDex. On the rooftop you'll find TM25 Thunder.
We find out that to reach the Pokemon League we'll have to travel from Rainy Path
to Destiny. At the Diner (south from the PokeCenter) the man by the counter teaches
Explosion once. At the Hotel (near the west gate) speak to the man to get a Light
Ball since we encountered a Pikachu. We go west to search for Agatha.

Check the sand on the right side, you'll find a Max Ether. In the grass there are
Blackglasses. A few steps northwest from the grass, check the sand for a Star
Piece. Go northeast, check the sand to find a Max Potion. On the left are Lil &

MEW (Lv30)
Type: Psychic
Ability: Synchronize
Moves Known: Transform, Mega Punch, Metronome, Psychic
Item Held: Lum Berry
That's Jeff.
In the grass below from him, check the left tile next to the tree for an Oran
Berry. Then we find Agatha, Steven and the legendary Groudon! Interesting to note
that this Agatha isn't the usual cranky granny version that we know. They came to
find out what was the cause of noise they heard and this is what they found. Steven
thinks that Groudon being here in Kanlara means that Kyogre is around too...and
Rayquaza as well. Before he can continue, Claudia and her Grunts arrive to spoil
things. There's no way we're letting her hijack another Pokemon, but there are a
couple of back to back battles coming up!
Claudia accepts the loss and the gang retreats. Agatha will wait for our challenge
back at the Gym. Steven trusts us enough to give us the Red Orb, with it we can
awaken Groudon and either catch it or leave it alone. After Steven leaves to meet
with the other Sages, you are free to approach Groudon whenever you're ready for
it.
GROUDON (Lv45)
Type: Ground
Ability: Drought
Moves Known: Slash, Bulk Up, Earthquake, Fire Blast
Continuing west so we can finish exploring this area, there's a tree with 3 grass
tiles just northwest from where we find Groudon. Check the top grass tile for
Ether. Southwest from the tree are the Ruin Maniac team of Manny & Sam.
**BATTLE NOTES: Finally, something new! Each one is holding Soft Sand.
From that team move up to the top left grass tile next to that big rock, you'll
find a Blub Berry. The gate leading to the Endless Desert can be seen now but just
make a note of it for now because only a portion of it can be explored, the
northern side has a vicious sandstorm in progress that prevents us from going
further. South from the gate are Oven and a Max Revive.
Cooltrainer Oven

we already got the right Badge for it too, fantastic. We're done here for now, head
on back to Wanjara City and prepare to challenge Agatha for the next Badge.
If you were expecting a Gym modelled after Morty's Gym then I've got good news for
you - no such Gym set up here. The bad news is the Gym is modelled after Koga's Gym
instead. Invisible walls AND a mist to spice up the atmosphere xD. Here we go:
From the entrance go straight up until you hit an invisible wall. You can go either
far left or right then up for the first battle. On the top right is Carly while
Patricia is on the top left.

Leader Agatha
(Lv44 Gengar, Lv46 Mismagius, Lv48 Dusknoir, Lv46 Banette)
Prizes: P4800 + Badge of Fearlessness + TM45 Shadow Claw
Use of HM Flash granted. Outside the Gym we find Zorya waiting for us, he wants our
help concerning the Lab in Sena's Grove. He'll head over there ahead of us, so
prepare if you need to then follow.
**NOTE: I only found out much later (as in, when I got to the League shop!) but
Revives were added to Marts but am not sure which Badge is responsible for making
them available, I didn't check.
Scientist Kane
(Lv42 Klang, Lv43 Nosepass, Lv43 Magneton, Lv44 Bronzong)
Prize: P2112
Near him is a Max Revive. Continue along the corridor going right, the Grunt told
us that Zorya went into the last room. Before we get there though there are some
Super Guards from Giovanni Enterprise to be dealt with first.
The first room (Machine Room) there's Tom, Manes and a PP Max in the top left
corner.
Room 2 (Research Room) has Johnny, a working PC and a Max Elixir in the top right
corner.
Scientist Johnny
(Lv44 all Galvantula, Salazzle)
Prize: P2112
We find out from him about the experimenting that's been going on here to
Pokemon...and unfortunately the scientists have gotten results. The last guards in
the corridor are Verren and Leeroy the Ace Guard. Ace Guard...?
**BATTLE NOTES: An Ace Guard indeed, not just because of the surprise Legendary but
he's got Full Restores too.
When you're ready step through into room 3 (Experiment Room). With all the mentions
of Giovanni we've heard I expected to find him but the man isn't here, Zorya had
wanted us to come along in order to stop him. Lance and Steven appear, they had to
fight off some Rockets who were blocking Rainy Path before getting here. The Sages
confront the remaining Scientist, demanding to know Giovanni's whereabouts. It's
after being threatened by Lance that the Scientist talks: Giovanni doesn't tell
them when he leaves the Lab but he wanted them to experiement on Pokemon and
genetically modify them so as to make them stronger. They have succeeded in
creating new forms of Pokemon called Demon Pokemon (!), which are not only stronger
than their regular forms but more aggressive and gain a new stronger type. As the
Sages go over this information Zorya gets a call and must leave for the Grand
Ocean, there's something going on over there. He tells us to travel to our next
destination - Sunside City, which is reached after surfing west along Rainy Path
then heading north for the Sunnyside Coast. Great, but we don't have the HM...
After the Sages leave, the Scientist shows us a Demon Gem. It has the DNA of Demon
Pokemon that they created and we can use it to Demon Evolve certain Pokemon into
their Demon Forme. Hmm, Charizard Demon-volve toooo~.....sorry, sorry ;) you know I
had to throw in a Digimon reference somewhere :D now you know how I feel about Mega
Evolution haha. Get the Demon Gem and the TM on the left, TM05 Demon Pulse. Just so
you know, Demon Gems are what has replaced Sun Stones in this game.
Outside the lab, you can be forgiven for doing a double take if you're playing as
the male playable character because we find a passable clone! I thought the game
had glitched for a moment xD but it isn't a glitch and not a clone, it is Kanto's
Champion Red! And he speaks!! He isn't here to hit us with a surprise battle, but
maybe if we reach Kanto someday he'll challenge us there. He tells us that his
friend Misty is at Kanja Boulevard now and she's ready for a battle if we want one.
And off he goes, because even though he's a Champion his journey never ends.
Back in Kanja Boulevard, we find Misty on the right side bridge. I don't know what
dialogue she offers if you're playing as the female character but if you're the
male character Misty says we remind her of a certain someone from her past :) she
is willing to help clear away the Snorlax but not for free of course - if we can
defeat her she'll give us the PokeFlute. Alrighty then...
>>TRAINER BATTLE<<
==================
PokeTrainer Misty
(Lv50 Lapras, Lv54 Feraligatr, Lv52 Starmie, Lv52 Milotic, Lv50 Tentacruel)
Prize: P1000
We receive the PokeFlute and Misty jumps off the bridge for a swim. I thought maybe
she might know who has HM Surf. Head on east to Solemn Path and wake up the
Snorlax...erm, well, one or both of them if you prefer. They are both at Lv50, both
holding Chesto Berries, know the same moves (Sleep Talk, Block, Covet and Rollout)
but have different Abilities. The top one has Thick Fat and the bottom one has
Immunity, hopefully that will be same for you so you can decide which one you want.
Then the road splits into a north way and a south way, each side has a Trainer.

In the PokeCenter you can receive a Pokemon Egg from the Gentleman if you have
room. A Castform will hatch from it. Southeast from the PokeCenter into Florina
Park, cut the tree if you want to reach an Ether.
We learn that there wasn't a Gym here but after our hometown Gym lost its status,
Florina got one. Come on Merryfall Town, get it together xD. Who runs this new Gym?
The ultimate stone collector himself, Steven!
Say yes to the younger woman in the house north from the PokeCenter to receive a
Wailmer Pail. Her grandma will groom one of your Pokemon if you speak to her. The
Surfing Dude lives north from there, he gives us the HM we need without any
trouble. Gotta get the Florina Gym Badge so if you're ready let's go.
So what happens to Trainers who beat the Hoenn Elite 4? Will they have to travel
all the way here to face Steven?? And then have to get through his Gym Trainers
also??? Damn. Steel type is theme for this Gym and the Gym Trainers are known as
the Cooltrainer 4. On the left is Roland and on the right is Shana.
Cooltrainer Roland

Cooltrainer Naomi
(Lv50 all Drilbur, Metang, Klang, Excadrill)

I think it would've been a nice little touch if we had found Steven defending his
title against the latest Hoenn challenger and by the time we're done with the
Cooltrainer 4 that match is over with Steven still Champ. Battle for Badge #6 is up
next!

The west Gate connects Florina Fields to the northeast side of Kanja Woods. We
wouldn't have been able to reach this area without Surf and Waterfall before. In
the grass above the Gate is TM45 Shadow Claw, then we find Kutcher.
West from him is the Gate leading to the Grand Ocean but until the situation over
there has been investigated we can't go through. In the grass is Johnny who gives
an interesting note about this place.
Carry on along the path as it goes south all the way to the northwest spot where we
find the green time traveler! Can you catch it?
And we didn't even need that wonderful anime plot device the GS Ball to obtain
Celebi :) there's an Item in the southwest grass area, you'd have to circle around
Celebi's place to get it - TM01 Energy Ball.
There is some backtracking to be done since we can reach new areas, here we go:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
+THE GREAT BACKTRACK: SURF STYLE+
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
//Haunted Mansion Return//: The old man is not there blocking access to 3F, a good
time to explore.
-3F-
The old man is up here instead, lying on the ground and with only one thing to say
- Leave. What happened? To the right of the statues you'll find Iron. Go south and
head east along the corridor, finding a PP Up on the way, until you reach an
opening to a small room occupied by what may have harmed the old man! Catch it if
you dare.
The Dark Matter is described to be strange but maybe of use to someone. Nothing new
from the old man so exit.
//Merryfall Town Return//: The cave entrance just west of town leads to the
Legend's Chamber. Bring along a Pokemon that knows Strength.
-1F-
Yup, this is Part 1 because according to the Nurse in front of the ladder only the
Kanlara Champion can access the inner chamber. But don't despair just yet, after
picking up the Metal Coat by the entrance push up the boulder on the left and find
another legendary - Zapdos!
Strange thing is it'll still be there even after you've caught it, defeating it
will make the sprite vanish. That's TM39 Rock Slide on the right. Exit the cave.
Surfing further west leads to the Spring Path and beyond that is the Spring Resort.
Let's have a look.

is in fact a he then I'm sorry.
>>SPECIAL BATTLE<<
==================
PokeTrainer Sakakii
(Lv60 D. Kingler!)
Prize: P1200
**BATTLE NOTES: Our very first battle against one of these Demon Pokemon. It is a
Fire/Water-type.
Demon Kingler Moves: Swords Dance, Demon Grip, Crab Hammer, ???
Sakakii gives us a Black Crown, which is used to "Demon Ascend" certain Pokemon.
Also we can now buy Dark Gems from the Special Selection man here. If we bring 10
of them to the Nahara Library we'll get a Black Crown. Speak to Sakakii again to
find out that Krabby can't be found in Kanlara, we would have to travel to another
region to catch one. Hmm, hint hint? Speaking of the Library...
-2F-
The two Channelers are Kate (below) and Mary (above). Kate breaks down what Demon
Ascension is all about, not only do Demon Ascended Pokemon have their stats changed
and gain the Demon type but they have access to new moves. She's the one who
exchanges a Black Crown for 10 Dark Gems. Mary has Pure Crystals, which reverse the
Demon Ascension and return the Pokemon back to normal. She also recommends deleting
any Demon-type moves they may know. We get a free Pure Crystal but after that she
sells them for P5000 each. Along the top row of bookshelves, the far right shelf
has Attack and Defense information for the Demon-type:
-Attacking-
Stronger than Demon
Weaker than Steel, Fairy
-Defending-
Stronger than Water, Fire, Grass, Electric, Normal, Flying, Fighting, Psychic,
Dark, Poison, Ground, Rock, Ice, Bug, Ghost, Steel
Weaker than Demon
Hellsweep (Fire-type)
Base Power: 140
Accuracy: 100
PP: 15
Effect: Always goes first
The other bookshelves have books which contain interesting information of some
Demon Pokemon. I like that their sprites are from older games :) Starting from the
far left shelf of the top row:
//Waygo Path Return//: You can surf across the pond to pick up the Rare Candy.
Swimmer[F] Amara
(Lv50 Marshtomp, Lv52 Wailmer, Lv52 Swanna)
Prize: P208
//Moss Cavern Return//: Enter from the northern opening in Sena's Grove and surf
left. There's a roaming Lapras, Level 40, interact with it for a battle and the
chance to catch it. South from there are 2 ladders leading below, one on the right
and one on the bottom left. Use the ItemFinder by the rocks near the left ladder to
pick up an Ultra Ball. The right ladder leads to a basement area occupied by a
Cooltrainer who teaches Dragon Pulse once. Below from him is TM02 Dragon Claw. The
left ladder takes us to a short passage where there's another ladder heading up to
another passage. Go through it and exit out into...

- Selphy's House
Who is Sena? We find out a little bit about her from the Gentleman in the
PokeCenter. Someone who teamed up with her father to make the region what it is
now. Okay. The old woman gives us a Lum Berry.
Selphy has a simple wish: to see a Pokemon. When I spoke to her for the first time
she asks for a Banette. If you don't come back to her with that Pokemon after some
time she'll change to ask for a different one (in my case it was for Manectric). As
a reward for showing her the requested Pokemon Selphy's butler gives out a Luxury
Ball.
Banette. I didn't have one so I had to go and catch one, when I came back she says
she was tired of waiting for me and changed to wanting to see a Manectric. I had
one in Storage and after showing her she has her butler reward me with Luxury Ball.
I'm not sure if she'll ask for some other Pokemon when Selphy is spoken to for the
very first time but now you know that if you don't show her that Pokemon after some
time she'll change to another.
The woman outside the PokeCenter will give us a White Herb if you have a party
Pokemon that knows Overheat "or a similar move". No idea what other moves are
similar to it, I had a Pokemon which knew Flamethrower and that didn't work. The
Camper on the right teaches Signal Beam once. After that we can step into Sena's
Woods, home of some rare Bug-type Pokemon apparently.
And because of the cool Bug Pokemon here, we find Bug Catchers. After the short
path north from the entrance, use the ItemFinder to pick up a Cheri Berry from the
bottom left side of the circular grass area on the right. The Bug Catcher in that
grass area is Colton, a member of BES - the Bug Enthusiasts Squad. Really? xD.
From where Greg is standing go left a few steps to the top left corner of the
bottom left grass area, the ItemFinder will lead you to a Wepear Berry. Below from
there is Sammy.
2 steps up from Robby then 2 steps to the left and search the ground to pick up a
Blub Berry. That's Silverpowder in the left corner. 5 steps up from Robby then 1
step to the right to find an Aspear Berry. The old man is the Squad Leader, he says
he'll give us the strongest Bug move TM if we defeat all 8 of his students. No
problem, 6 down and the 2 students remaining are Cale on the bottom right from the
Leader and Keigo a little further from Cale.
2 steps up from Cale then 2 steps to the right to find an Oran Berry.
On the right tile next to him is a Persim Berry. Back to the Leader to get that
reward - TM07 X-Scissor!
//Lake Kaji return//: In the middle of the lake is an open cave, but before we go
in there surf southwest to meet Hank and then northwest to pick up the almighty
Super Rod! Fishing Rod collection finally completed :)
Fisherman Hank
(Lv40 Politoed)
Prize: P1440
Into the cave and we meet the Crystal version mascot Suicune! Get it!
That's TM13 Ice Beam near the north wall and so ends the backtrack. Return to Rainy
Path and let's continue our journey.
Carry on to find 2 Gates, one leading to Destiny (a short route before reaching the
Pokemon League front Gate) and the other one leading to the Sunnyside Coast.
A long road to Sunside City ahead, split into two sides - the road and the beach.
Along the beach there are the following Trainers:

her they are now REFORMED. Huh, is that so? In the Mart there's a Grunt with a
spare HM Dive to share! Although he adds that there aren't any Dive spots in this
region. Dude xD, so why...?
A Grunt blocking the Gym entrance says Gym Leader Archie (!) has gone out east to
the Grand Ocean. What's more shocking, that Archie is a Gym Leader or that he's
also checking out this Grand Ocean situation?
In the house northeast from the Mart there's a Grunt who teaches Icy Wind once.
Down at the Harbor there's the Battle Boat, where we must defeat 4 Aqua Grunts in a

And who is the special guest final boss? Misty! A Misty who doesn't seem to

called the Sea Tower. He tells us to meet him there after we get through Archie's
Gym. The tower is southeast from Sanjara City. The Blue Orb works, the rain stops
and Archie leaves us to catch Kyogre while he returns to the Gym. Get into the
water and say hello!
Back to Sunside City, prepare if you need to and let's have a look at Archie's Gym.
No puzzles no gimmicks in this Gym, we're going north and here come the Gym

Sharpedo has Speed Boost.
Use of HM Waterfall granted and it's cool that he gives us that same HM. Let's
hurry back to that Chansey island and Moss Cavern to see what's beyond the
waterfalls.
Nothing here but the Pokemon. Back at Moss Cavern, above the waterfall we see a
Youngster near a Dark Gem. This is Youngster Tyler who got banned from this place
for "causing disturbance with the Level Curve". And somehow this is our fault? So
he takes out his anger on us. Who is this guy and why is he stronger than Archie??

would have to fly or sail.
Near the Mart is a Salac Berry and next door is the Move Maniac's house, bring some
shrooms. Nobody blocking the Gym entrance this time but the place is locked. The
Gym Leader hasn't been around for a while and the only other piece of information
we get about him is that he came on a boat from Hoenn.

Rival Blue
(Lv52 Tyranitar, Lv52 Entei?!, Lv53 Suicune?!, Lv53 Garchomp, Lv56 D. Typhlosion!,
Lv53 Raikou?!)
Prize: P2016
**BATTLE NOTES: Blue has some Full Restores. Demon Typhlosion holds a Focus Band.
Blue falls down unconscious, hopefully back to his old self. But we can't stop the
Grunts that we defeated from getting him and leaving. If you need to recharge and
heal up do so now because there are more Grunts ahead and most of them in the tower
are all Double Battlers :/ that item you can see on the upper left of your screen
is TM35 Flamethrower, to get it you have to surf back down to the grass area near
the Gate that leads to this route. Surf north from the grass area and you'll end up
behind the tower. Going further north will take you to another section of the
Northern Seas.
-1F-
That's an Escape Rope on the right. I found the whole Double Battler Grunts thing
to be rather overkill in Kanlara Adventures so it's a bit disappointing that it was
brought back in Ultimate.
-2F-
-3F-
Yup, like any good tower worth its salt this one has haze starting from this floor
and the wild Pokemon appear...well, Ghosts that we can't identify so run! Just at
the end of the short corridor north from the steps is a PP Up. The Grunts here have
4 Pokemon teams.

-6F-
That's Sacred Ash just below and the final stretch of Grunts on the left.
-7F-
But instead of finding Claudia alone we see she's got company - Drake! And in
classic Pokemon game fashion we've arrived too late, Claudia has already dealt with
the Sages and now she is aiming to conquer the Pokemon League! We can't even stop
her from leaving the tower, but we get to hear from Drake through his distorted
voice: he's the Sanjara Gym Leader who sailed here from Hoenn and also joined Team
Rocket! Because he's part of TR he won't be going back to the Gym, so we will be
having the battle here and now. For the 8th and final Badge, good luck!

Leader Drake

Fortunately it looks like he's regained some sense, he gives us those prizes and
leaves before he faints. Now we can set our sights on the League, will we get there
in time to stop Claudia? I doubt it xD, but we'll try anyway. The ItemFinder will
lead you to a Dragon Fang on one of the tiles near where Drake was standing. Exit
the tower and go back to the Dragon Expert in Sanjara for new dialogue concerning
the tower: it is home to two mythical Dragon Pokemon. I thought he'd also give us a
Silph Scope but I'm guessing it isn't needed in this game since actual Ghost
Pokemon can be found outside the tower and elsewhere. Return to the tower 7F and
this time we meet one of those Dragons, Rayquaza! Catch it if you can.
We'll come back after the League to check for the other Dragon because it doesn't
appear once Rayquaza is gone or if you leave the room and re-enter. In the bottom
right corner is a Dragon Fang. From the tower surf straight south until you see a
cave entrance on an island. These waters are the portion of the Seasworn Path which
is north from another island further south - Seasworn Island.
Above the cave entrance is a Rare Candy and swimming near the island is Dean.

[rt33] DESTINY
--------------
Simple road, follow the tiled path west until we're stopped by May. The stories we
could tell her after what we've gone through :) she's just here for another battle,
this time with a full team.
>>RIVAL BATTLE<<
================
Seriously, it's AFTER this unnecessary battle that May asks about Blue and she
finds out about him joining Team Rocket. She goes on ahead to check out the League
because she feels that she must be there. That's TM44 Will-o-wisp on the right.
There's no Badge Check guard in the Gate so walk on through.
A Rocket Grunt spotted, so the League takeover is well underway huh? And you know
what that means, more Double Battles ahead too.
Just northwest from that Grunt, use the ItemFinder to pick up a Leppa Berry.
We'll reach a short water route, surf all the way north.
Check the grass tiles just northeast from him to pick up an Aspear Berry.
Northeast from him, check the far right rock for a Full Restore. One more Grunt
near the entrance to Destiny Road.
Search the top right rock for a Sitrus Berry and then let's see Kanlara's Victory
Road of Destiny.
-1F-
From the entrance go northwest, ignore those steps and reach the narrow path under
the next set of steps. The ItemFinder will point out an Ultra Ball from the rock at
the end of the path. Climb the steps and make your way to the northeast side (is
that Prof. Woke near the northwest ladder??). Before reaching the two items, use
the ItemFinder to pick up a Full Restore from the rock that is far right from the
top item (TM02 Dragon Claw). Left item is a Rare Candy. Back to the northwest side

**BATTLE NOTES: Elise has Full Restores. Cradily holds a Leppa Berry, Ludicolo
holds a Shell Bell, Cacturne holds a Quick Claw, Sceptile holds a Miracle Seed and
Breloom holds a Lum Berry.
Elise doesn't vanish like Woke did, but she becomes unconscious. Nothing we can do
to help. The item on the bottom right from her is TM50 Overheat. Near the northeast
corner of the room is a Max Revive. Drop down the ladder closest to it, we return
to 2F so we can pick up some items that we couldn't reach before:
Bottom left from the ladder is TM48 Swords Dance. Circle round to the northeast for
TM07 X-Scissor. Yup, that's Agatha near the other ladder. Go south then southwest,
don't climb any of the steps, you'll find TM37 Flash Cannon. Back to the ladder and
3F. Go south then southeast to see 2 ladders, drop down the top one because the
bottom one leads to a deadend. Unlike Woke and Elise, Agatha's packing a full team
so be prepared. If we don't stop Claudia's plan, who will?
>>BOSS BATTLE<<
===============
**BATTLE NOTES: Agatha's got Full Restores. Umbreon holds BrightPowder, Absol holds
a Liechi Berry, Sharpedo holds Blackglasses, Dusknoir holds a Spell Tag and
Aegislash[S] holds a Petaya Berry.
Outside, just before you go through the mini maze use the ItemFinder on the left
side to pick up a Lum Berry. As for the maze, take the right side path and check
the left side space near the top right mini pillar (? I don't know what these are
called, xD) to find a Max Elixir. Middle path is the true path, we have finally
arrived.
Final preparations time. The fat man on the right is the TM Guru, selling the
following TMs:
The hell kind of prices are those, xD? Dude's trying to make a killing from
Trainers when they are just about to challenge the Elite 4. May is here, she says
Claudia rushed past her and is taking on the Elite 4. Did you even try to stop
her?? We get a couple of items from May: Starf Berry, TM01 Energy Ball, TM32 Rock
Polish and TM34 Scald. I'm a little disappointed in May, maybe I expected too much
from her. Time to meet the Elite 4 and save the League, here we go.
The first Elite is...Zorya! Really? Sage, Gym Leader AND one of the Elite 4? A bit
of a let down and it's weird that he says nothing about Claudia coming through here
but talks about Cynthia instead. Claudia? Cynthia? What's going on here?? He's just
about aiming to reach that next level as a Sage.
>>ELITE 4 BATTLE<<
==================
Elite 4 Zorya
(Lv63 Pelipper, Lv65 Thundurus, Lv64 D. Zapdos!, Lv65 Tornadus?!, Lv65 Landorus?!)
Prize: P6500
**BATTLE NOTES: Zorya has Full Restores. Demon Zapdos holds a Lum Berry.
After the battle he regains his normal self, surprised to be here after remembering
that we were supposed to meet at the Seasworn Tower. I'm as surprised to see him
here as he is, so which means...
>>ELITE 4 BATTLE<<
==================
Elite 4 Steven
(Lv64 D. Forretress!, Lv65 Aegislash[S], Lv65 Klinklang, Lv65 Scizor, Lv66
Metagross)
Prize: P6600
**BATTLE NOTES: Steven has Full Restores. Be careful of Demon Forretress's Smoke
Shot move, not only does it deal damage but reduces the opponent's Accuracy and
Attack. Metagross holds a Lum Berry.
He's regular Steven again, thank goodness. He doesn't know where Zorya and Lance
are though. Don't worry, we saw Zorya and as for Lance...
Elite #3! At least "possessed" Lance sounds more like the cool Lance we know of,
not the goofy guy who somehow became a Sage xD.
>>ELITE 4 BATTLE<<
==================
Elite 4 Lance
(Lv65 D. Gyarados!, Lv67 D. Dragonite!, Aerodactyl, Lv66 D. Charizard!, Lv66 D.
Kingdra!)
Prize: P6700
**BATTLE NOTES: Lance has Full Restores. Demon Dragonite holds a Lum Berry.
Lance is saved, well he's back to goofy Lance so can he really be considered saved,
xD? After leaving this room the game will move us straight to the final Elite 4
room and what's hilarious/not hilarious about that is on the way there we see Blue
lying on the floor just outside the room and we don't stop to check up on him! Come
on, game xD now we look like complete heels haha. You have a chance to heal and
prepare if you need to before talking to the FORMER Kanlara Champion Claudia. She
lost the title soon after and now wants to take out her anger on us. Here she is,
Elite 4 Claudia!
>>ELITE 4 BATTLE<<
==================
Elite 4 Claudia
(Lv66 Weavile, Lv67 Houndoom, Lv67 Cacturne, Lv67 Deoxys!, Lv68 Rayquaza?!)
Prize: P6800
**BATTLE NOTES: Claudia has Full Restores. Rayquaza holds a Lum Berry.
Now defeated, Claudia tells us what she did. Used a mind control device to make
people work for her. Genius :) except for the plan not helping her take over the
League. Someone else knocked her off the throne and so she vows to rebuild Team
Rocket in another region. She's certainly welcome to try. Let's go meet the new
Champ............
GIOVANNI!? Wow. Just wow. If you guessed that he would be the Champ congratulations
xD I hope you aren't disappointed since you guessed correctly. A business guy,
former Team Rocket boss and now he has conquered the League with his team of
modified Pokemon. As far as his Championship reign goes, we are going to put a stop
to it. For the title and all the marbles, good luck!
Champion Giovanni
(Lv68 D. Gengar, Lv69 D. Lapras, Lv69 D. Snorlax, Lv71 D. Lugia?!, Lv71 D. Ho-Oh?!,
Lv75 G. Mewtwo!!)
Prize: P7500
**BATTLE NOTES: Giovanni has Full Restores. Demon Gengar has the Shadow Tag Ability
and holds a Lum Berry, Demon Lapras holds Nevermeltice, Demon Snorlax holds a
Chesto Berry, Demon Lugia holds Mystic Water, Demon Ho-Oh holds Charcoal and God
Mewtwo holds a Lum Berry.
I thought Giovanni would be much more upset about losing but he's pretty chill
about it :) Congratulations, you are now the NEW Kanlara Champion! Prof. Woke shows
up, back to normal and having woken up in his lab. Giovanni brings Woke up to speed
about Claudia's plan and how he stopped her. I don't get why Woke thanks him like
he's some hero when the man became Champion with a team of modified Pokemon! Makes
no sense xD. We do the whole Hall of Fame thing and the unskippable credits roll.
The End?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
==>[[))+POST-GAME ARC+((]]<==
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We are back home when May and Blue show up. Blue is okay again, but he remembers
the battle outside Seasworn Tower and apologises for that since he was under mind
control. We find out that Claudia and Team Rocket have left Kanlara so things
should be cool now...until May adds that she's going back to Hoenn. Her summer
vacation has come to an end and her mom might be worried about her, so for now it's
fairwell. As for Blue he goes back home because he misses his sister. No problem
with that, until you go and speak to him again and find out that he'll be busy
playing ROM hacks xD! Dude, really? You have actual Pokemon of your own, come on.
Nothing new from Woke, not even a PokeDex progress check. So it looks like we'll
have to stumble around and find post-game content, hopefully we'll get through it
all. First place we can check out is the lower floor of the Legend's Chamber.
It's not a massive place built like a labyrinth or anything, as I was prepared for,
you just go north to find the powerful Pokemon that calls this place home - Mewtwo!
If you happen to return to the League with hopes of defending your title in
rematches then you will be disappointed because the guard standing outside the
first Elite room says there aren't any tougher challenges. There's just a
simulation where you'll be going through the Elite 4 like it's the first time :/
Unfortunately no improvement for Seasworn Island even after we capture the beast.
//Power Plant return//: Lt. Surge has got the place running again and now is up for
a match. Why not?
>>SPECIAL BATTLE<<
==================
//Nahara Mines return//: Two major reasons why we are back here, first one is the
rematch against Bruno. He's waiting in the northwest area, let's see how much
stronger he has gotten!
>>SPECIAL REMATCH<<
===================
He gives us a Choice Band as a second prize. Go to the northeast area for the
second reason - Entei!
**BATTLE NOTES: SAVE before you battle it because if Entei Roars and the battle
ends, it's gone. No idea where it will reappear, I forgot to exit the Mines and re-
enter to see if it pops back here.
Return to the southeastern side of the Kanja Outskirts, there's a Rocket Grunt on a
bench. He's not looking for trouble, he actually wants to help us find
Cynthia/Claudia by taking us to the Rocket HQ for P500. To the Kecleon Copter!
Places of Interest
..................
- Team Rocket Headquarters
If we want to go back to Kanlara we just speak to the same Grunt, the return trip
is free (or simply Fly back because Rocket Island pop up on the World Map). This is
interesting, who knew they had an HQ nearby. Circle round to the northwest side and
check the empty space between the red flowers for an Enigma Berry.
Inside HQ we find a few more Grunts, but they're in holiday mode since they will be
leaving soon. Move up to the northeast side to pick up TM36 Sludge Bomb and a Nest
Ball by the top right box. From the entrance check the left box for a Net Ball. In
the western office there's a Pearl. Cynthia/Claudia isn't here but we learn that
she left behind Deoxys, which is in the northwest room. A Master Ball is next to
it. Where's Lance, xD?
Back to the mainland and Kanja Boulevard, enter the Battle Facility (which won't be
operating now). There's a female Magma Grunt named Kate who has been travelling and
is now checking out Kanlara. She asks for some Rare Candies to help her under-
levelled Pokemon, 128 Rare Candies to be exact but after seeing that we don't have
that many she settles for 1 and in exchange she gives us Go-Goggles. Now we can
progress through the northern side of the Endless Desert.
Return to Kahara Town and head west. Just before going through the Gate leading to
it, speak to the Scientist. This is Dr. Steim. He gives us a Super Scope, which
allows us to not only see through dark places but things which would be
unidentifiable. Nice.
North from them is a Hiker who is leading an expedition here. If we can defeat all
the Tag Teams he will battle us. Challenge (reluctantly) accepted. Northwest from
him are Andy and Norman.
On the east end from them is a Carbos. Continue north, there's a rock hill and
standing on it is Brian.
Northwest from the hill is a Max Repel. North behind a giant rock are Jack and Kim.
Just above from them is an Ether. A bit further northwest from there are Nathan and
Obama the final team. THAT Obama??
**BATTLE NOTES: Conkeldurr holds a Black Belt and Gigalith holds Soft Sand.
He gives us TM26 Earthquake as a second prize. Carry on north after Nathan and
Obama.
Once you enter this area, use the ItemFinder on the left side (the single tile gap
between rocks) to find a Hyper Potion. Just a few steps above we find another
"legendary", infamous for other reasons entirely :) catch it if you dare!
Talk about random, I didn't expect to find that. Haven't seen Missingno since
Pokemon Adventure Red Chapter. Carry on north to find a lone house. If you use the
ItemFinder behind it you'll pick up a Revive. The house works like a time machine
and sends us into Kanto's past! How far back? Generation 1!
>>>>>><<<<<
<<<KANTO>>>
>>>>>><<<<<
What the...? Who are all these old men?? The one on the far left is holding a map,
an Ancient Map. Its description is interesting, the signature is missing some
letters but looks familiar... We can't enter any other buildings and the only
active person here doesn't make any sense. I find it funny that our character has
their voice now because of how strange Kanto looks but not a word after everything
else that has happened so far xD. One of the old men is alive, the one south of the
Gym, but he just talks about fishing. You can surf east to see Seafoam Island and
then north to Pallet Town.
A few more people here including the Champion himself! This is when we get to
battle him and if we win he'll tell us what's going on here. If you think you're
ready, say Yes or come back later when you are, because this is Red and his full
team, as usual, is no joke!
**BATTLE NOTES: Red's got Full Restores. Demon Snorlax holds a Sitrus Berry. Demon
Venusaur's Demon Thorns not only deals damage but traps the opponent, preventing
them from being switched out.
Incredible. Wait a minute, did he also become Champion with Demon Pokemon?? He
reveals that Kanto has been corrupted by M' and Missingno (?!) which are just part
of many. Dang, so we didn't travel back in time? I'm disappointed xD. Red has been
trying to find out about them and stop them but he hasn't succeeded. So he's just
chilling and then flies off somewhere. But he's the Champ, how does just chilling
help?? xD, this guy. A Master Ball is left behind. Go to the southeast exit of
town, which was blocked by an NPC earlier, and move up to the northern exit.
[rt37] 00110001
---------------
On the eastern side of the grass on the right, use the ItemFinder to find an Aspear
Berry. Then head north until you reach a signpost with numbers on it, check the
space above it for a Pinap Berry. Northeast from the signpost is a gap in the
fence, go through and continue north until you find another gap to go through. To
the south we meet Archmage Gandolfu. Gandolfu?? Somewhere Tolkien either wept,
laughed or did some sad combination of both xD. Gandolfu has set up a magic barrier
to stop the powerful being which is waiting just up north and tries to warn us
away. Go on to see "The-One-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" - Arceus! We don't get to battle
it, just hear it vow to destroy everything. Maybe we need to come back with a
special item? Leave Kanto and once back in Kanlara we can give the Super Scope a
try.
Never trust basements :) this one is a mini labyrinth. Go west along the corridor
until it turns north, this is where we find Mary. You can duck into the southwest
room to avoid her if you aren't ready to fight her.
Undead Mary
(Lv88 D. Gengar)
Prize: P5280
And all she does is stare and grunt afterwards, maybe she's just having a really
bad day. The western room has a Dark Gem in the bottom left corner while the
northwest room is occupied by the ghost of a singing high school girl (?) and the
lyrics to her song are written in the book on the table. Back to the stairs and go
north. The big middle room has two more ghosts, check the bottom right corner for a
Rare Candy. In the northeast room is the real prize - Dialga!
Exit the mansion. You can return to Seasworn Tower to identify the Pokemon
occupying the upper floors...at your own risk :)

//Nahara Library Part 3//: The one man who knows about the Ancient Map is Lt.
Sauron. He'll ask to look at the map and suddenly everything comes back to him. He
was an explorer in the past and one place he liked going to is called the Found
Cemetery. There's an urban legend about secret storage spaces that were built
underground by those who constructed the cemetery. Sauron tried to confirm if this
legend is true but couldn't find the way to access the spaces. However he found one
half of a key which he believes could let us enter that place. Now he's not in a
position to go back to search the Found Cemetery for the other half but since we
are mobile he gives us the Lower Key. Return to Sanjara City and go beyond the
beach for the Northern Seas. Bring Pokemon that know Rock Smash and Thief or
Covet...or lots of Repeat Balls.
Swimmer[F] Tiffany T.
(Lv58-62 Blastoise x2)
Prize: P496
There is a short fork in the path, go either way, we still end up finding Colin.
Swimmer[M] Colin
(Lv60 all Gorebyss, Huntail)
Prize: P480
East from him is another section of the seas, let's cover that before going north
to the Blessed Isle.
Swimmer[F] Annita
(Lv58 Clamperl, Lv60 Gorebyss)
Prize: P480
On that island just to the right from her are 2 of the 3 Forces of Nature -
Tornadus and Thundurus! Go get 'em!
Hmm, well 2 out of 3 ain't too bad. Swimming on the upper side is Laoh.
Swimmer[M] Laoh
(Lv60 all Dewgong x2)
Prize: P480
Swimmer[M] Nick
(Lv60 all Jellicent, Tentacruel)
Prize: P480
There's another island north from Camille's place, you'll find an Elixir there.
Between the islands is the opening to the last section of the seas.
There's a short detour path on the right, but before you go along it surf south to
the 2 Swimmers Geraldo and Alicia.
Swimmer[M] Geraldo
(Lv58 Seadra, Lv60 Kingdra)
Prize: P480
Swimmer[F] Alicia K.
(Lv58 Starmie, Lv60 Wailord)
Prize: P480
The detour leads to a fast moving current that will take you to an island where you
find TM31 Brick Break and the cave mentioned by Geraldo.
[xiii] RULER'S CAVE
-------------------
If you weren't a fan of the Lost Cave from the Sevii Islands, well...I don't know
what to tell you because this place is modelled after that unforgiving dungeon :/
but don't worry, I didn't like it either xD.
-Room 1-
Hiker Arnold
(Lv60 all Tyrantrum, Rampardos)
Prize: P2400
He's lost but wonders if maybe the number of boulders might be a clue to how to get
out. Interesting. There are 3 boulders here. Go through the east opening.
-Room 2-
12 boulders here. Go south to pick up Lax Incense. When you come back here go
north.
-Room 3-
-Room 4-
Hiker Kale
(Lv58 Gliscor, Lv59 Probopass)
Prize: P2360
-Room 5-
-Room 6-
9 boulders here. To the east you can pick up a Max Revive. Go west.
-Room 7-
-Room 8-
-Room 9-
12 boulders here. Go north to finally reach the treasure - an Escape Rope AND
Landorus :)
Forces of Nature trio now complete, exit and surf the fast current south.
Swimmer[M] Kanares
(Lv58 all Qwilfish, Corsola)
Prize: P464
Just to the left from him you can surf up the fast current to reach a Full Restore.
Stick to the left side of the current otherwise you'll just be sent back to where
Geraldo and Alicia are. The current south from Kanares, surf down along the right
side to end up face to face with Bernie for a Double Battle.
Cooltrainer Bernie
(Lv56 all Lucario & Gigalith, Piloswine & Exeggutor, Galvantula)
Prize: P4032
Swimmer[M] Gomez
(Lv59 all Pelipper, Quagsire)
Prize: P472
The southward path in the middle leads back to the northside of the Seasworn Tower.
Northwest from Gomez are more fast currents, stick to the left side to move up to
Wilechase.
That's TM22 Solarbeam near him. Surf up the current back to Kanares and surf down
the right side current, staying left to reach the middle section where there's Hau
and Brandon.
Triathlete Brandon
(Lv58 Shiftry, Lv60 Ludicolo)
Prize: P2400
No need to go south, just get in the water on the left side of the island and surf
back up to Geraldo and Alicia's area and return to Swimmer Colin so we can carry on
north and land on the Blessed Isle.
Use the ItemFinder on the right side of the beach to pick up a Razz Berry. Standing
at the entrance to the isle are 2 Elite Officers. The Elite Officer Force has taken
over the Blessed Isle and civilians aren't allowed in it. Not even the Champion?
Attempt to walk past them and they try to stop us, you can choose whether or not to
leave. Say No and fight these fools. Back to back Double Battles, get ready.
The rest of the Force will be notified and the two officers run off to Sanjara
City. Then we get +50 Reputation with The Forsaken (?) there's a Reputation system
now? Interesting. Continue north.
We'll meet the first Forsaken Villager (that blank face though....) with some
interesting lines of dialogue if you talk to him a couple of times, like when he
mentions something/someone named Azarah. Past him are more blank-faced villagers, a
couple of them have quests that we can take up. How old school RPG of them :) Nazal
the Alchemist is the man standing under the stall tarp, he requires some special
ingredients for his new Elixir. The reward for his quest is P5000.
The ingredients are 7 Deathweed, which grow in the Dreadwood to the east from here.
We must look for small trees and of course stick to the road.
The man next to Nazal is Ronin the Potions Master who is another Alchemist. He
wants us to retrieve his Small Box from Kutcher's Farmstead, which is in the
southeastern section of the Dreadwood. But he's also worried that some bad spirits
might have taken possession of it by now.
Above from Ronin is Kazah the TM Master, he won't sell us any TMs because we aren't
a member of The Forsaken. The woman is Nurse Veranya, she'll heal your party for
P500. In the house you can check your Reputation score by speaking to Kalares the
man on the left. The Dark Matter that we've gotten, remember that? You can give it
to Nahala the Supplier, the man near the bookshelf. The people here use Dark Matter
to make things. It drops from high level Dark-type Pokemon. You earn 50 Reputation
per Dark Matter, nice. The woman by the boxes is Anna Katarina the Vendor, but she
won't exchange goods to us. How did we become traitors? The other woman is Anya the
Keeper, she needs our help to deal with Undead Spirits that are in the Dreadwood
occupying the farms.
Some spirits have been found at Kamori's Farmstead and at Wiseau's Farmstead in the
western side of the Dreadwood. Right, those are the quests available here so let's
get them done.
[rt41] DREADWOOD
----------------
On the rock hill just up above is an unknown man, he just tells us to go away. Head
south, climb the rock hill to pick up a Revival Herb. Southwest is Kamori's
Farmstead, nobody's in the house but in the field we see 3 roaming Channelers a.k.a
the Undead Spirits!
One Farmstead cleansed, one more to go. Back up to the road and head northeast,
you'll see a small tree that you can harvest 2 Deathweed from. Continue along the
road until there's a north path, this leads to Wiseau's Farmstead. The Undead doing
laps on the right is Lv65.
In the house is a man (...Wiseau?) who sells TM05 Demon Pulse for P10000. Rush back
and speak to Anya to clear the quest, get our P1500 and 100 Reputation. She's got
another quest if you talk to her again, more Undead to fight at Harper's and
Kutcher's Farmsteads on the eastern side.
QUEST 04: MORE TROUBLE IN DREADWOOD
-----------------------------------
Reward: P1500.
From the path leading to Wiseau's Farmstead go south off road, you'll find another
small tree on the left, 1 Deathweed from it. Undead Spirits around here too.
South from them is a small tree [2 Deathweed]. One more in the southwest corner [2
Deathweed]. That should be 7 :)
Back to Nazal to deliver the D-weed. 150 Reputation given. Next ingredients needed
- 2 samples of Tomb Ashe. They are found near tomb stones in the Lost Cemetery,
northeast of Dreadwood.
Reward: P2500.
We'll be looking for more small trees and some monsters carry the ashe too.
There's the body of an old man just east from the farm field but nothing of note
about it. Back to the road, the next north path leads to Dreadwood Garden. There's
a neat little garden hedge maze, before going into it go west then northwest to
harvest 3 Deathweed. Once in the maze take care of the 2 Undead and pick up an HP
Up on the east side.
Undead Lv65 Spirit
(Lv66 Bewear)
Prize: P3960
Back to the road, you'll see a small tree [2 Deathweed] on the south side as you
move east. Follow the road south to reach Kutcher's Farmstead.
In the house there's Varazah the Lv70 Undead, battle her when you are ready.
Undead Varazah
(Lv70 Wobbuffet, Lv71 Tauros, Lv72 Mimikyu)
Prize: P4320
She walks away DISAPPOINTED (ha!) but leaves behind the Small Box and a Dark Gem.
Go back to deliver the Small Box. +100 Reputation. He has us choose between an
Attack Potion (sharply raises Attack in battle) and a Special Potion (sharply
raises Special Attack in battle). If you want more Potions you have to bring him
more ingredients:
Undead Potion (sold when our Reputation is high enough): 5x Dusk Feather, 5x Tomb
Ashe, 10x Deathweed, 2 Filled Vial & 1 Bloody Tooth
Attack Potion (1x Feather, 2x Tomb Ashe & 1 Filled Vial)
Defense Potion (1x Brown Feather, 2x Tomb Ashe & 1 Filled Vial)
Special Potion (1x Lilac Feather, 2x Tomb Ashe & 1 Filled Vial)
Speed Potion (1x Blue Feather, 2x Tomb Ashe & 1 Filled Vial)
Accuracy Potion (1x Ashen Feather, 2x Tomb Ashe & 1 Filled Vial)
Update Anya on the Farmstead cleanup and get +100 Reputation. She's got one more
quest, concerning a Spy that has beeen seen outside town (that guy we saw earlier?)
whom they believe could be working for the Elite Officer Force.
Return to the guy and reveal that we work for The Forsaken. The guy turns out to be
Tarzan the Elite Spy!
Tarzan warns us that we've gotten ourselves into deep trouble for working with the
Forsaken, then he runs down the hill...into the sweet loving arms of an Undead that
kills him and drags his body into the woods! Vicious :| go back to report to Anya.
+200 Reputation. The Living Rock raises the power of Rock-type moves by 25%. Now
we're cool with the Forsaken, enough to buy stuff from Vendor Anna:
Stock up on Ultra Balls too. Not enough to get TMs sold to us though you'll need at
least 1000 Reputation for Kazah to sell:
Them prices, yeesh. So let's continue east for the Cemetery. Where the road turns
south to Kutcher's Farmstead you'll see an Undead among trees on the right.
Continue through the trees to harvest 2 Deathweed and fight the next Undead.
This is where the Balls and Pokemon that knows Thief or Covet will come into play
because the second half of the Key is addressed in the FAQ/Tips section of the
Kanlara Ultimate thread at the PokeCommunity site. Wild Klefki drop the second half
but the drop rate is low so we could be at this for a while if we are unlucky.
Catch or snatch from at least 10 Klefki, do what works for you.
We'll see Varah the Cemetery Keeper, he needs help getting rid of the ghosts which
are in roaming about the tomb stones.
Reward: P15000.
To the right from him you can harvest 3 Tomb Ashe from the small tree. Then head
west to confront the first Cemetery Ghost!
In the graveyard there is a Tomb Ashe tree on the right. The busting continues.
In the cabin is Baron the Poltergeist, Lv75. Leave it for now because it will be
the focus of Varah's next quest. Carry on north then northeast to meet a roaming
Lv60 Dusclops. Go all the way east to another graveyard.
Back to where we found Dusclops and head for the north graveyard. A pair of Rocket
exiles are here too, only the guy on the left is ready to battle.
The strongest ghost we've found so far besides Baron is on the east side near a
Tomb Ashe tree, be prepared.
Another Tomb Ashe tree is near the northwest corner of the yard. In the northeast
corner is a gap in the fence, go through and circle round to the northwest and
engage the curious looking ghost that's different from the others. It can be
captured too.
>>GHOST BATTLE<<
================
An actual ghost captured :) Ghost Hunters eat your hearts out. Back to the
graveyard and go north from the Rocket Grunts to find another gap in the fence.
Carry on all the way up to find a PP Up. Ghostbusting done, go back to Varah and
collect the 15 grand and 250 Reputation. Next quest loading...
>>BOSS BATTLE<<
===============
It fades into darkness and drops a Rare candy. Return to pick up the rewards and
100 Reputation. The Blessed Charm raises the power of Normal-type moves by 25%.
Hopefully by now you've also got the Upper Key from a Klefki, if not keep that hunt
going. It took me a couple of hours, I started off by trying to steal it off of the
Klefki I encountered but none had it then switched to capture and it was the 7th
Klefki which held one. Worst fetch quest ever xD.
Return to Lt. Sauron to show him, he then says we need to find a handyman who can
put the two key parts together. That man is actually a boy, the Youngster named
Scott who works in the Bike Repair Shop in Kanja City. Doesn't take but a moment
for him to work his magic and give us the Cemetery Key. Take it to Sauron, he
confirms it and wishes us good luck for the final act of this odd mystery.
Back at the Cemetery, go to the east graveyard and inspect the middle tomb stone of
the right side column of tomb stones. We'll discover an entrance beneath, unlock it
and go in.
Nothing but bones remain. Move up and confirm once and for all if that urban legend
is true or not, catch it if you can.
Wow, now we know the truth. The exit is to the south, leave and return to Sauron.
You'll have a choice, either to tell him the truth or lie. If you lie to him, he'll
accept that it was just an urban legend and be relieved. As a reward he gives us a
Master Ball. If you tell him the truth it'll be a little hard for him to accept but
he eventually does. The reward is the same. Prepare for The Wilds of the Spring
Resort, we are headed there next. Bring Pokemon that can Surf and scale waterfalls

Surf up from him to find TM22 Solarbeam and then head for the waterfall. Above it
is an Elixir and another familiar face standing in front of a cave entrance. He's
not identified, he's rather rude, but that's Wally. What happened to good guy
Wally?? He won't give us any notice until we've defeated all the Trainers here. Go
west to meet the Psychic twins Tate and Liza. Makes sense given that Double Battles
are a major feature of this game xD.

**BATTLE NOTES: He's got Full Restores. Salamence holds a Dragon Fang, Mamoswine
has Nevermeltice, Garchomp holds Brightpowder, Magnezone [Magnet Pull] holds a
Magnet, Metagross holds a Metal Coat & Gardevoir holds a TwistedSpoon.
Even in defeat he doesn't care. He lets us access the cave, certain that we can't
handle what's in there. Oh reaally?
Head north then northwest to see what Wally may have been referring to - Heatran
AND Team Magma boss Maxie! Even while so far away from Hoenn he hasn't dropped that
big dream of his and now he's here. If we don't stop him he'll use Heatran to take
over the world.
>>BOSS BATTLE<<
===============
**BATTLE NOTES: He's got Full Restores. Groudon holds Leftovers, Volcarona [Flame
Body] holds Silverpowder, Camerupt holds Soft Sand, Magcargo holds a Hard Stone,
Arcanine holds a Silk Scarf & Houndoom holds Charcoal.
We're done with The Wilds, next up we return to Resolution Path (northeast side of
the Highlife Path, remember that place?) now that we got all the Badges.
//Resolution Path return//: The passage is just a brief straight way to the east
and perhaps the end of everything (?)
The first person we find out here is former Champ Giovanni. Near him is TM48 Swords
Dance. No rematch, instead he gives us a Demon Gem. Consolation prize? Interesting
that he wonders how Kanto is doing, if only he knew xD. Carry on north to find an
elderly couple and TM39 Rock Slide on the upper right. The couple tells us that we
were destined to come here, which is usually a place for the Sages. The Mythical
Guardians of Kanlara also come out here and since we got a pure heart and all, we
get to summon them. We receive a torch, point it to the sky and the Guardians grace
us with their presence: Ho-Oh and Lugia! Catch them if you can.

+[xzx] FINAL SECTION & OTHER RAMBLINGS+
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
That was Pokemon Kanlara Ultimate ladies and gentlemen, how was the game for you?
Good? Bad? Somewhere in between? For me I would say it lies somewhere in the
middle. I liked that there is a wide variety of Pokemon for players to find and
catch. Kanlara as a region wasn't too bad as far as design goes, no headaches when
it comes to travelling between places (even those outside of Kanlara). The story
didn't blow me away but it had interesting points here and there, although I don't
get why there wasn't much story in the post-game side except for the stuff going on
at the Cursed Isle. And what about Kanto? Is that meant to be left unresolved?
While Maxie is still a villain maybe a Magma vs good guy Aqua plot could have been
done, you know? And the Elite Force of Kanlara, not much from them and yet they
could've been another villain group to worry about. The one major negative about
Ultimate is Double Battles being so prominent, remember Seasworn Tower? It got a
little ridiculous. Overall Ultimate is a game you can enjoy if you're looking for
something that you can play at your own pace and not worry about the game punishing
you for this or that like in many other hacks, especially newer ones.
Be sure to send Sakakii all your feedback, questions, comments etc. If you have any
feedback about the walkthrough you can send that my way via email or you can
message me at the PokeCommunity site (search for Allen Ceedos) or reach me on
Reddit (username Allen_Cee07). Even if you have a walkthrough request, no problem,
contact me about that too. I'm only making walkthroughs for ROM hacks for now, I am
not yet making them for fan games because unlike ROM hacks where you can test stuff
out e.g. cheat codes, you can't exactly do that in fan games. Testing codes is part
of what I do for the walkthroughs, some are even quite helpful at times such as the
Walk through Walls code or the Access to PC Storage Boxes code and so on.
Here's a list of the hacks which I've done walkthroughs for so far:
Pokemon Adventure Red Chapter Beta 14.5 to 15+ Expansion Pass (Fix C)
Pokemon Clover (22 April 2020 Update v1.2)
Pokemon Azure Horizons [Hacksrepairman Version April 2020]
Pokemon Liquid Crystal Beta 3.3.00512 (September 2016 update)
Pokemon Grape (Final v1.4 & Final v1.5)
Pokemon Glazed Beta 6.8.3 (TrainerX493 edition)
Pokemon Flora Sky (Complete Dex Version)
Pokemon Mega Power (v5.59)
Pokemon Resolute v2.78
Pokemon Light Platinum (covering the Lauren region)

HOUSE OF SOUNDS: This is the first of 2 music set series that I started putting out
in June 2019. In this series I play house tunes from my collection which I've had
since my high school days. Mainly South African house music but there's room for
international jams too. Old and new. If you're a fellow fan who loves to move and
groove or just bop your head in time with the beats, I hope you'll check out this
series :)
COUNTING ELECTRIC SHEEP: The second music set series, started just after House of
Sounds. This one features anime and video game music. Opening themes, ending
themes, songs from official soundtracks etc. If you like anime and manga as much as
I do then this might be the series for you.
TUNING FOR TOONS: My third and newest series, started in October 2020. This one
will cater more to those of my generation (people who were born between the mid
1980s to the mid 1990s), it features themes from classic cartoons that were a
highlight of our much younger days. I've also thrown in parody commercials from the
Grand Theft Auto games and shows like Sheep in the Big City. I recommend listening
to each set without looking at the tracklist until the end :) test yourself and
find out how many themes you can still recognise (and maybe still sing along to!)
POKEMON - THE JOURNEY OF JANICE: This was an idea I had in early 2019 which I had
hoped to turn into a story for a ROMhack someday. I shared the idea around to see
if anyone would be interested in teaming up with me to create the game. Months went
by, there were people who liked the idea but I didn't hear from anyone who actually
wanted to work with me. So I decided to spin out a story from the idea and post it
chapter by chapter in the FanFiction section at the PokeCommunity site. That
version of the story is a rework of the original form, which looks one of my
walkthroughs :) I'll put a link to that original below if you're interested in
seeing it but I'll encourage you to follow the reworked version because I'll be
changing stuff there.
Let's meet again in my next walkthrough, thank you for giving this one a try and I
hope it help you out (and maybe entertained you as well). Take care of yourself
during these rough times and stay safe. Bye for now!
