How has Patagonia been able to promote corporate social responsibility among other

businesses?

Coming to Patagonia, Inc. organization which will be related clothing industry,

American retailer at Ventura, California. Corporate social responsibility will be one of

the reasons behind the success of the Patagonia, here Patagonia has follows if your

customers don’t trust organization then organization don’t have customers. Basically,

Patagonia organization has spent more than 185 million dollars for the purpose of

donating to the NGO’s, here this organization was mostly become leader because of it

will achieve success by both donating of its profits and also raise awareness for

environmental awareness. “Patagonia’s success, however, does mean that purchase of

less sustainable products may be decreasing and that other companies may choose to

adopt more environmentally conscious models in attempt to capitalize on the

economic benefits seen by Patagonia” (Grace Kortum, 2018). So, here Patagonia will

be one of the successful organizations who has provide positive impact using the

corporate social responsibility.

2. Do you think it is beneficial for Patagonia to branch out into ventures other than

apparel?

Yes! It would be very beneficial for the Patagonia to branch out into ventures, there

will be many reasons for this, one of the basic reasons is as we know it will be very

difficult to the organization to maintain on the single apparel, so here Patagonia will

concentrate on more other than apparel will be beneficial for the organization. For

suppose if consider Nike organization it will started as footwear but later it will be
enhanced to apparel in the same way Patagonia has only concentrated on the apparel

section so it will be implemented to other branches or venture it will be helps to

organization revenue over the time will helps organization to enter into the profits. So

here Patagonia will be the organization who needs to increases their branch outside

the box because already Patagonia will be shows its brand in apparel which helps to

gain customers base in the other than apparel.

3. Does Patagonia—a privately held, debt-free company—have an advantage over

public companies with shareholders by being socially responsible?

Patagonia, Inc. will be one of the biggest private organizations, it will be allowing

ownership to use the resources of the organization that can fit, another important thing

we have to consider is privately held organization has certain advantages which will

makes socially responsible. Patagonia will be one of the organizations where

shareholders will be one of the socially responsible which helps them to create

organization growth. On the other hand, Patagonia has declared earth will be their

sole shareholder by providing $3 billion of assets and $100 billions in annual profits

of the organization which makes the organization into earth it solo shareholder.
