 Recognize different expressions/ways of expressing interest, asking about and expressing preference;
 Use the target structure by making dialogues in the exploitation stage.
 Material(s):Textbook and BB.

Time Procedures Techniques


5 minutes Warm-up
-T greets SS Greeting
-T: Welcome to my class.
-T writes the date on the BB.
25 Presentation:
minutes - T writes the following dialogue on the BB Setting the scene
Ahmed: .... I love/prefer basketball a lot. What about you?
Omar: ooh really, I also like it. I go to the club every Sunday and play with my friends.
Ahmed: That’s a good idea.
-T asks SS to read the dialogue at least twice. Dialogue
-T asks SS to look at the dialogue and answer the following questions:
-T: What is Ahmed saying?
-SS: Prefers basketball a lot and asks Omar.
-T: Good, so which expression did he use?
-SS: “love/prefer, what about you?”
-T: Excellent.
-T: What is Omar’s response?
-SS: “ooh, really, I also Love it…..”
-T: Good. So he likes basketball too. Q/A
-T writes the title of the lesson on the BB Expressing Preference.
-T draws the following chart on the BB.
-T asks SS to give other expressions they know.
-T elicits answers from SS and writes them on the BB.
-T fills in the chart.
