Primary Test Manager (PTM)
The Next Generation in
Power Transformer Diagnostics and Assessment 2 Power transformers are critical and capital-intensive assets. They need to be kept in operation as long as possible - and should never fail. If a transformer failure does occur, it may cause huge economic losses and can even result in injury or death. Thus testing and diagnosis of the condition of power transformers is essential. OMICRON offers state-of-the-art power transformer test equipment for testing according to national and international standards, such as IEEE 62 (C57.152) or IEC 60076-1 and -3. OMICRONs industry experts offer support with diagnostic measurements on power transformers and help with the interpretation of the results in order to reliably assess a transformers condition. The application-oriented training help to understand theory and practice. The New Standard in Power Transformer Diagnostics 3 Analyzing the transformer condition The new Primary Test Manager software makes the CPC 100 together with the CP TD1 the perfect instrument for analyzing the condition of transformer and other assets like bushings and LTCs. With laboratory accuracy and excellent noise suppression, the CPC 100 plus CP TD1 provide reliable results regardless of the level of electrical interference in the area. During all tests the highest safety standard is guaranteed by the safety switch, the strobe light, the transformer switch box CP SB1 and other safety features. Setting standards The test can be performed as recommended in related standards such as IEEE 62 (C57.152) or IEC 60076-1 and -3. The CPC 100 plus CP TD1 meet and exceed all measurement and accuracy requirements. Portable, lightweight and easy to handle In spite of its overall rugged design, the heaviest CPC 100 component only weighs 29 kg (64 lbs). Therefore it is easy to transport and can be handled by one person. A custom-built trolley allows for practical handling on site and off site along with easy and quick breakdown into portable components. Eight standard primary test measurements Using the multifunctional primary test system CPC 100 together with the unique capacitance and power factor / dissipation factor (tan delta) measuring instrument CP TD1 you can perform a wide range of tests in only one system. This multifunctionality saves money, time and training costs for the staff. The following tests can be performed: 1. Transformer power factor / dissipation factor (tan delta) and capacitance 2. Bushing power factor / dissipation factor (tan delta) and capacitance 3. Exciting current 4. TTR - transformer turns ratio 5. Surge arrester 6. Insulating fluids 7. Leakage reactance 8. DC winding resistance The New Standard in Power Transformer Diagnostics The application of innovative measurement techniques and the use of high-precision components in the CP TD1 brings laboratory precision with a rugged design into the field of insulation condition testing. The CPC 100 plus CP TD1 also offer new test methods such as testing with variable frequency. 4 Transient current during switching process Taps D y n a m i c

Test templates for all standard tests are available. This allows performing the test most comfortably, saves time, delivers a clear result and offers an automatic reporting. Variable frequency power factor / Dissipation factor (tan delta) frequency sweeps (15 Hz to 400 Hz) for power factor fills in missing details not obtainable from a single power factor measurement, discerning whether moisture contamination is in the cellulose or if the oil is contaminated or otherwise compromised. It also offers the ability to effectively discriminate between a deteriorated power factor / dissipation factor (tan delta) test result that warrants more frequent monitoring and one that requires immediate remediation. 1 3 Frequency Response of Stray Losses (FRSL) shorted parallel strands, which cannot be detected using exciting current testing at system frequency, can be found by performing the leakage reactance test at higher frequencies. Fast and in-depth The Advanced Diagnostics features provide a more illuminating and much faster condition assessment of transformers, bushings and LTCs than ever before. Fast and safe
While using the transformer switch box CP SB1, the trans- former must only be connected once for TTR, DC Winding Resistance and the dynamic OLTC test. This makes it a most efficient accessory for the CPC 100 which dramatically reduces the necessary test time and improves safety. The automatic tap changer control feature simplifies the test procedure and reduces test errors. Additional safety features are provided by the built-in safety standards of the CPC 100 which can be combined with the 3-position remote safety switch and the strobe light accessories. Advanced Diagnostics and Safety Features 5 Dynamic generation of test plans The Primary Test Manager software supports the users workflow during diagnostic testing. The user is able to define and manage test objects, create test plans, perform measurements, and generate reports, while being guided through the test process. This ensures proper testing according to industry standards, while saving time and reducing the risk of errors. After testing, a full report of all performed tests can be created and modified by the user. The CPC 100 can be operated stand alone or fully PC-operated using the Primary Test Manager software. In stand-alone mode, test templates for all standard and advanced tests are available. With the available inputs and outputs of the CPC 100 many other primary tests can be performed like testing of current transformers (CTs) and voltage transformers (VTs).
