ASSESSMENT 1:

1. Enumerate at least 10 virtues/values that you have and explain each in your own words.

a. First is Hospitality. It is my nature to be friendly with everyone I just interacted with. I

also treat our/my visitors well when they visit me at our house. I always make sure to
make them feel comfortable around and be able to provide their need without feeling
uneasiness.

b. Second is family oriented. In everything that I do I always make sure to let it know by my
family and to do it for them. I always focus on them and lets them be part of who I am.

c. Third is religious. Ever since then my parents thought me to believe in God and to live a
life in his accordance. Every Sunday I go to church and join church activities together
with my family. And as a Christian I have a great faith to the one up above and I also
follow the belief and traditions.

d. Fourth is modesty. I believe that simplicity is everything and being reserved is modesty.
I
value decency in terms of my behavior and on the way that I dress. It always better for
me to dress in a way where I feel comfortable and not in a way that it avoids sexual
attraction.

e. Fifth is respect. I believe that respect begins with respect not just to the people older
than us but to everyone including their opinions, beliefs, and decisions. To listen is also a
respect, and to follow is also a respect.

f. Sixth is humor. I often told by my friends a joker because I always put or say things in
humor. I love laughing specially when I’m with my friends or siblings, it makes me feel
good and the same time I’m making people around me happy.

g. Seventh is independent. I like to do and explore things on my own and I am also used to
keep things on my own. Sometimes I even got scolded for not telling my parents my
decisions and what I have been through.

alternatives that I can collect. This usually happens in doing school works or just a

to the biggest fear of failure. However, I still managed to face all of these because of my
courage to face all of it. It may be painful and hard but I knot to myself that I can do all of
it.

j. Lastly are generosity and helpfulness. Whenever I have something to give, I always give
even specially to those who are close to me and those who are really in need. I’m also
fond of giving gifts whenever there is occasions or celebrations. And I believe that to give
is also to help because sometimes that things that we give maybe helpful to them. I also
like helping my friends emotionally, academically, and even sometimes financially if I

REFLECTION 1:

Make a reflection paper. Below are the guide questions.

a. Between Melanie and Maximin, whom can you identify yourself with? Elaborate.

- Maximin Giraud , since he ' s more communicative , loyal , brave and furthermore , a kind -
hearted person to Melanie . Despite his progress in school was slow , hampered by constant
pressure from pilgrims and other curious people . The children never contradicted the story of the
apparition , despite being interrogated separately , he still kept his head up high until he could
have the life with apparition .

b. As a Salettinian, how will you foster reconciliation with yourself, others (including
environment) and God?

-Fostering reconciliation with myself as a salettinian , always should start with less negative
treatment to oneself or harshness and some sort of humiliation just because the person didn ' t
reach the goal they ' re aiming for . Giving oneself harmony means considering reality as it is ,
not imposing your own beliefs and laws upon it like for example , processing and maintaining
the mentality of " to be able to gain knowledge , you need to start thinking . "

c. Amidst the pandemic that we are experiencing, how will you preach the Good News?

-God is close and he is always with us despite the pandemic , simple as that . As our lives seem
distant and disjointed , we remember that God is always close and in this divine closeness we are
one no matter where we sit . The things and people we hold most dear have been separated from
us and the normal order of life has been utterly upended and we are living through a period of
deep disruption , chaos and anxiety , the Lord is always with us no matter what and that ' s the
good news .

REFLECTION 2:

Make a reflection paper (Letter 8.5” x 11”, single space). Below are the guide questions:

1. What is Human Dignity based on your own understanding?

The concept of human dignity stems from the conviction that each individual human being
possesses value and is deserving of respect. This value cannot be taken away and is not tied to
anything else in particular. Everyone has the right to be recognized in their own dignity as well
as the right to be treated with decency.

Because it is a fundamental human right, upholding human dignity is extremely vital. It

serves as the foundation for a wide variety of other rights and liberties, and it is necessary for a
person to be able to lead a life that is honorable and of high quality. People would be viewed as
things or animals if they lacked the dignity that comes with being a human, and they would not
be on an equal footing with other people.

They would not be able to exercise their fundamental rights and liberties, and they would be
vulnerable to being discriminated against and abused. To be able to live a life that is respected
and of high quality, it is necessary for a person to maintain their human dignity. It serves as the
basis for a great number of other rights and is an essential component of our society.

Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect, and to have their own dignity
respected, and everyone deserves these things. This is a fundamental human right, and it is
everyone's responsibility to ensure that it is protected. In conclusion, the concept of human
dignity stems from the conviction that each individual human being possesses value and is
deserving of respect. This value cannot be taken away and is not tied to anything else in
particular. Everyone has the right to be recognized in their own dignity as well as the right to be
treated with decency.

2. What is Freedom? Is it more of a feeling or a virtue? Is man really free?

God granted us freedom so that we would have the ability to make our individual choices.
When God made man, He granted him a very special thing. Man got a free-will which enables
him make his own individual decisions. In actuality, freedom is a virtue and a feeling as well.
However, freedom is more of a virtue. This is true since, due to a man's spiritual powers of will
and intellect as well as his soul's virtue, he was given freedom, which is a magnificent
manifestation of God's image. Freedom is therefore a high-quality right that God gave man. It

makes man responsible and liable for all his actions. Man is truly free since he has the capacity
to choose between evil and good will. As one does more good, they become free to a greater
extent.

3. Explain why man’s dignity is inviolable.

Man's dignity is inviolable because the scripture clearly states that each individual is made in
the likeness and the image of God. It comes from God therefore, human dignity is not something
that we can bestow or take away from another person. This radical claim is the source of our
belief in the inherent and inviolable dignity of the human person. Since we are made in the
image of God, we are considered as His children. It does not matter where we are born or the
economic or social status we are in, this does not change the fact that we are God's children.
Since human dignity comes from God, it is therefore not something that we can bestow or take
away from another person. It is intrinsic to our existence. What we can do is enter into
relationships that respect our mutual human dignity. When respect for human dignity forms the
basis of our relationships, God's divine nature shines forth in a true communion of persons.

Too often we fail to do this and we de-humanize other people or ignore them when they
reach out for help. We fail to recognize the human dignity of each and every person opens the
door to all manner of violence and injustice.

REFLECTION 3:

Make a reflection paper (Letter 8.5” x 11”). Below are the guide questions:

a. What do you think is the relationship between the Law and the Revelation of God?

A commitment to God, an expression of God, and a revelation of God to His people, the 10
commandments are God's law. God calls the Ten Commandments, or Ten Laws, "the ten words,"
and just as a person's words reveal herself through them, so the 10 words God uttered are a
revelation of God Himself. By hearing what our speaking God has to say, we can better
understand Him. The law is the 10 words that define God to His people, just as Christ is the
Word of God, revealing God to us. Salutations to our Savior, who represents God's law and
brings it to completion.

b. Explain why obedience to the law is important.

When individuals comply with the law, they contribute to the maintenance of a secure and
well-ordered community. People who observe the law are less likely to participate in illegal
activities or other hazardous behaviors that might endanger the lives of others. In addition,
compliance with the law is one of the best ways to guarantee that everyone is dealt with fairly
and equitably inside the legal system.

private citizens. When individuals follow the law, they have a lower likelihood of engaging in
behaviors that potentially infringe upon the rights of other people. In addition, compliance with
the law is one of the best ways to guarantee that everyone is dealt with fairly and equitably inside
the legal system.
