1.6Glossary
CDR/TDR session This is a Data Server database containing
call/transaction data records.
Configuration This is a file with the .FSE extension,
containing all the information needed to
produce statistics and to generate alarms.
Cumulative counter This counter agregates given fields of
records ; it can only be used in a column and
the result is an optionally scaled value. The
alarm levels for such filters are defined by
scaled values.
Exclusive filter With non-exclusive filters, every record is
compared to every filter. Exclusive filters can
reduce the number of filters any given record
is compared to. Exclusive filters
corresponding to specific records stops the
comparisons that would have been made to
the remaining filters for that record.
Filtering conditions A filtering condition is a comparison
expression between a field and a value; the
comparison operator depends on the field
type (it's usually <, <=, =, >=, >, <>).
Filtering expression Combines filtering conditions by using the
logical comparison operators NOT, AND
and OR. Parentheses are also permitted.
Query A query uses filtering conditions and a
filtering expression to determine what
records will be used. The queries are used in
data filtering (line) and filtered data counters
(column). They may also be used in top
selection.
Ratio This counter type defines the ratio between
two other counters. The result is expressed
as a number or a percent.
2.1Main view

2.5.13Alarms
This window lets you create or modify alarms. In the configuration view, click a
cell which is neither a line header, neither a column header, nor the corner, then
click [Edit].
3.1Principle
The Data Server uses the configuration generated with the Configuration tool to
produce statistics and alarms.
The statistics are given in the form of a Data Server session, so they can be used
with xDR Browser. Referring to the xDR Browser User's manual, you will find
that it let’s you sort your statistical results, make selections, and present results
as graphs (you will need Microsoft Excel to do this).
The alarms are sent to the management platform through the management agent.
3.2The statistics
The statistics session conforms to what was defined. Each time a statistics
period ends, a set of records is written to the session. There are as many records
as there are defined filters - plus, at most, N lines for each top selection (where
N is the number of results retained in the final classification). Each counter
produces one column (record field). A record contains the counters
corresponding to one filter in one statistics time period plus some other
information :
• the end time of the period,
• the real period duration (it can be less than the defined statistics time
period),
• a sample rate, which is more than one if the Tool was working in degraded
mode (due to processing overhead),
• the main filter name (if one has been defined),
• the filter name (or a compound filter name with the field values, for the top
selection lines).
Example :
The configuration contains :
• 3 filters - "Not answered calls" (selecting the unanswered calls), "Busy
calls" (selecting the busy calls), and a top selection "Cause family"
