1. SUSTAINABILITY COUNTS! ENERGY CHALLENGE

What to do: Comparative study of consecutive electric bills


How to do:
1. Examine your electricity bill of pre summer break.
2. List the various electrical appliances used in your home.
3. Find out the power consumption, duration for the device in use. Do estimate calculation of
your bill as per power consumption.
4. Make an energy reduction plan and determine how far you could implement it.
5. Re-examine your electricity bill of post summer break with all calculations.
6. Paste both bills with calculations. Write your reduction plan and change in the bill.

2. MATHEMATICS ARTICLES

What to do: Read and record an article related to mathematics and write a report of 100
words.

3. Use the following link to review and strengthen pre-algebra skills and concepts to prepare
for further Algebra. Each math topic within the Khan Academy course is covered through
video tutorials, interactive practice, assessment, and skill summaries all with instant feedback
to help students track their progress toward topic. This task is just to introduce you with
Khan Academy and its outstanding skill improvement techniques; you should also practice
your grade math skills for 20 minutes each day.

4. Steps to follow:

1. Measure the all dimensions (Length, Width and Height) of your room, washroom,
Kitchen, drawing room and store in feet.
2. Google the method to convert feet into meters and convert all dimensions in meter.
3. Calculate the volume of air space of each of them.
4. Calculate the area to be painted if you want to paint them.
5. Given that 3.64 liters of paint covers an area of 17 square meter. Calculate the amount
of paint required to paint all of them.
6. Given that 3.64 liters of paint cost Rs 1180. Find the cost of paint required to paint all
of them.
7. Given that a contractor charges Rs. 3.50 per square area painted. What will the total
charges of contractor? Hence, calculate the total cost of all painting all of them.
8. Record your data in the following way and submit it at Summer Vacation Homework
submission date.
