The document discusses a proposed 300 MW diesel power plant project in the Philippines. It would utilize 6 hectares of leased land in Bataan and use modular diesel engine technology. The project aims to provide ancillary services to support grid reliability. It is expected to have less environmental impact than coal or bunker fuel. The development plan involves pre-construction, construction, operation, and decommissioning phases requiring around 30, 110, and 60 personnel respectively.

SITE SELECTION

Technical, environmental, and land use

considerations were taken in the selection of
the site for the proposed project. The
absence of critical habitats within the project
site and its proximity to possible tapping point
(230 kV TeaM Energy Substation in PNOC
Compound) were some of the main factors
that contributed to its selection. No other sites
were considered for the proposed project.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Diesel oil is much cleaner as compared to coal
and bunker fuel oil, the use of which are proven
to result in more carbon dioxide (CO2) per kWH
of energy than other methods; increased sulfur
content in some types of coal and bunker fuel
oil may also produce sulfur dioxide and
eventually sulfuric acid that can cause acid
rain.
Availability:

Diesel fuel is obtained almost

exclusively from crude oil/petroleum
and availability of diesel is relatively
stable.
