Treasurer Request Collector

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park believes the economy of the park's communities is beginning to recover as tourism increases, with the park now receiving 900-1,000 domestic and international visitors per day. As a result, the letter requests that a revenue collector from the City Treasurer's Office be assigned again to their booking office to collect entrance and other fees from visitors.

MR. JEROME M. PADRONES

Acting City Treasurer
City of Government of Puerto Princesa

Dear Sir,

As you know, the tourism industry of Puerto Princesa continues to recover in this “New Normal” after
the heavy hit of the pandemic. The park management of the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River
National Park (PPSRNP) believes that the economy of the park’s communities is beginning to recover
as a result of the growing number of tourists visiting the underground river, and slowly reverting to
previous levels of traffic since the international flights had already begun to resume. PPUR now
receives roughly 900-1,000 pax of domestic and international visitors per day.

In view of this, we are requesting that a revenue collector/officer of the City Treasurer’s Office will be
assigned again to our booking office (Mendoza office/Sabang Wharf Booking Office) for the collection
of PPUR Entrance fees and other necessary fees.

We are looking forward to your positive response regarding this matter. Thank you!

Respectfully Yours,

ELIZABETH A. MACLANG
Board Secretary
Protected Area Superintendent
