PROJECT PROPOSAL
Title:
Designing an Immersive Virtual Reality Environment for Stress Reduction and
Relaxation
Background:
Stress and anxiety are prevalent in modern society, and traditional methods of stress
reduction, such as meditation and yoga, may not be accessible or effective for
everyone. Virtual reality (VR) technology has shown potential in providing immersive
and interactive environments for stress reduction and relaxation. However, there is a
need for research to design and evaluate VR environments specifically for stress
reduction and relaxation.
Methodology:
1. Conduct a literature review to identify existing research on VR for stress
reduction and relaxation and design principles for immersive environments.
2. Design and develop an immersive VR environment for stress reduction and
relaxation using user-centered design principles.
3. Conduct user studies to evaluate the effectiveness of the VR environment,
including subjective measures of stress and relaxation and physiological
measures such as heart rate variability.
Possible Output:
A fully designed and developed immersive VR environment for stress reduction and
relaxation that incorporates user-centered design principles and an evaluation of the
effectiveness of the VR environment for stress reduction and relaxation, which includes
subjective measures of stress and relaxation, as well as objective physiological
measures such as heart rate variability.
Description 5 4 3 2 1

environment in reducing stress
and promoting relaxation
compared to traditional stress
reduction techniques.
2. The proposal is well-written
and clearly defines the problem
and objectives.
