Lesson Plan in Biology For Science VII

This lesson plan outlines a biology lesson for 7th grade science students on plant and animal cells. The objectives are for students to be able to identify parts of eukaryotic cells, distinguish between plant and animal cells, differentiate the cells based on organelles, construct a Venn diagram comparing the cells, and actively participate. The lesson will use a laptop, cellphone, paper, and pen as materials and follow a 7E instructional model integrating a Kahoot software application. The procedures include an opening prayer, attendance check, review of the previous lesson, and an initial brain boom drill activity to introduce the topics of cell, animal, plant, eukaryotes, and difference.

Lesson Plan in Biology for Science VII

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

• Identify parts and functions of a eukaryotic cell;
• Distinguish plant cell from animal cell;
• Differentiate plant and animal cells according to presence of certain
organelles;
• Construct a Venn Diagram to show parts that are common to both and
parts that are only found in either plant or animal cells; and
• Demonstrate active participation.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

a. Topic: Plant and Animal Cell

b. Instructional Materials: Laptop, Cellphone, Paper, and Ballpen

c.References: Science 7 Learner’s Material, Unit 2: Living Things and Their Environment.

d. Valuing Process
Appreciate the existence of tiny living organism and the functions of every detail
of our systems.

e. Science Process: Observing, Classifying, Inferring, Communicating

f. Strategy: 7E’s/Integrating of Software Application(Kahoot)

III. PROCEDURES

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Preliminaries
1. Prayer

A pleasant morning to everyone! A pleasant morning too, Ma’am.

Before we get started on our discussion for

today, let’s seek first guidance from our Dear
Lord Jesus Christ.

Mr./Ms.____ kindly leads the prayer.

Student will lead the prayer.
2. Fixing of the Virtual Classroom

So, we’re blessed by this day, and it’s nice to

see your welcoming faces here again. Before
anything else, I would like to remind all of you
of the most essential part of the day. It’ll be first, keep
yourself groomed and comfortable,
minimize distractions and noises, always keep
on track of your mute status. If you’re not
talking, commenting, or presenting, keep your
microphone muted and if it’s your turn to talk,
be sure to unmute your microphone first. May
you behave properly and respectfully and lastly don’t
ever forget to smile. Is that fine, class?
Yes! Ma’am.

3. Checking of Attendance

Okay! May I request everyone to open their (Students open their camera)
camera so I could be able to see the pretty and handsome
faces of everyone.
It will also serve as documentation for your
attendance and participation today.

Now you can turn off your camera, and for those who
want to stay open, much better.
Thank you, Ma’am.
4. Review of the Past Lesson

Before we proceed to our next topic, let’s first

know what you have learned from the previous lesson.

Alright, based on the lesson from the topic

“From Cell to Organism”, who can enumerate
again the 12 organ systems of the human
body?

Yes, ____?

The 12 organ systems of the human body are

Integumentary System, Skeletal System,
Muscular System, Excretory System,
Nervous System, Endocrine System,
Cardiovascular System, Lymphatic System,
Respiratory System, Digestive System,
Urinary System, and Reproductive System

Very Good___!

Now, who can tell me, what is the function of

the heart? Anyone?

Yes, ______?
Our heart's main function is to move blood
throughout our body. Our heart also controls
the rhythm and speed of our heart rate and
maintains our blood pressure.
Very well said!

And where organ system does the heart

belong? It’s belonged to cardiovascular system.

Exactly! The term “cardio” refers to heart.

How about the one that considered as the basic unit of

life? What is it?
It is cell Ma’am.
That’s right!

If cell is the basic unit of life, then why not atom?

Can I hear from you Mr._______?
It is because a cell is alive, and atom is not
Exactly!
Atom is the basic unit of matter while cell is the basic
unit of life and that’s the difference
between the two.

It’s good to know that you learned from our

previous lesson. I am sure that all of you are
now ready and prepared for our new topic for today.

Yes,Ma’am,
b. Drills

As for our initial activity for today, let’s

have a brain boom drill. All you must do
is to guess the right word being
portrayed in the illustration.

Are you ready?

Yes,Ma’am,
Okay, let’s do this.

Cell

Animal

Eukaryotes

Plant

Difference
